I think they are regular sized.
What's wrong with micro sim cards?
Fan-tastic.
Then I might be able to use the mobile broadband SIM I got for free, I hope it's not carrier locked in Sweden.
Its a hassle having to order a new card. Just wish they would stick to one damned standard.
You can just cut a regular sim card down to the micro-sim size.
I read about that.. but it is kinda risky, no? Some people have destroyed the cards in the process. :/
It's digital. On the dummy boxes in EB Games it says 'Free digital copy of Wipeout 2048 when you sign up and top up with Vodafone' or something like that.
Sony really needs to inform us about the Vodafone thing. Free Wipeout when signing up with Vodafone sound good to me as long as their in no 24 month contract involved. Those pay as you go options in the US are perfect and i would be willing to upgrade to the 3G model if it means free Wipeout (which i'm going to buy anyway) by signing up for one month with Vodafone.
So basically anyone in Canada or a country that doesn't have a 3G partner is SOLed.
Thanks SCE!

Amazon Price Match?
Who knows, that'd be awesome. I submitted the lower price to them. The fact that the discount is in the form of a credit rather than the price hurts the chances of them matching.
I'll be amazed if retail games (i.e. those that are also available in physical form) have any kind of + discount.- How they are discounted for PS+ members
So I decided to skip the first edition bundle and go with a Wifi unit. I really can't justify spending $50 more for 3G, especially when a 4G/LTE version can't possibly be too far behind. I'm also not interested in Little Deviants at all.

Now that I think about it, at least 50% of my PSP collection is made up of Japanese games so I guess that means I'm out of luck if I wanted to transfer some of them to a US Vita?
I'm really thinking of just ordering an Asia/HK PS Vita especially since it's all but confirmed that it is locked to AT&T. I figured we already knew as much but it pains me Sony is not possibly thinking of unlocking it :/
edit: Plans destroyed lol, Playasia is out of stock
Yeah, I'll probably just keep those games for use on my actual PSP hardware when the urge to play them crops up. I certainly wasn't planning to convert my entire PSP library anyways, but there are a few JP games I wouldn't mind having on the Vita in DD format.Yep, you can only have one account per Vita and the account is tied to the memory card too. So you would either need two memory cards and go through the rather annoying process of resetting it to factory settings to change accounts, or two memory cards and two Vitas.
I remember an interview where Sony said it might be unlocked in the future
I already have a Wifi Vita pre-ordered but I keep going back and forth on that First Edition bundle. The biggest plus I can see to that is getting my Vita a week ahead of official release but that's about it really. Though I would like to see Little Deviants.
There's no question there's more than enough for me to justify a Vita period..I sure am going back and forth a lot on that first edition bundle. Will make up my mind tomorrow.
Gravity Rush is a launch title?

that's why people are getting the bundle? i guess i didn't really think about that. that really doesn't matter to me since i've been waiting years for this, but i guess that's cool if others want it early.because we want it a week early?
That's exactly how I feel. I'm legitimately stoked for the 3G aspects.I'm getting it. Mainly because i'm going on a trip that exact week. But $50 for GPS+the option of 3G seems worth it. And the way some games are using 3G for asynchronous gameplay is legitimately interesting. Like Unit 13 auto-updating with your friend's progress and challenges, Ruin alerting you to castle attacks. They're doing cooler stuff than I expected when 3G was first announced.
To anyone who has a japanese 3G vita: what's the story on GPS? Can you use it (+wifi) for Near without 3G service? Or are they tied together?

The 3G is not important... you always can tether from a phone (and if you pay 250 for a Vita, you'll probably have a phone able to tether). My complain is the lack of GPS in the Wifi. Yes, we have that skyhook thing, but some game features (like the ones on Monster Radar) could be different.
So maybe I'll go with a 3G unit... but without 3G.
I don't pay for AT&T's tethering service on my iPhone. So this whole instant hotspot concept is lost on me.
If I can get by on only using the small 250 meg data package for asynchronous multiplayer and other gaming alerts on my Vita, do that.
I remember reading this article and having my boss tell me to not use itlol

is your jailbroken?
yeah I'm gonna grab the 2gb to be safe and see how that last me for the whole month.

This game seems really interesting.
