After [C] I really don't know what to think about this.
This makes zero sense. I have to see it. Clearly I chose a bad week to go out of town.
Don't. Guilty Crown is a fucking terrible show that's offensive to the very fabric of society. Don't support it. Don't encourage it. Just say no.

That was AWESOME. Amazing episode to come back to after a week break. Had everything I wanted from a mid-season finale.
Just overall a lot of good stuff accompanied by some solid tension.
Can't wait to see what the second half has in store for us.

Incestuous yandere with powers, a minor hope spot to make the subsequent tearful goodbye all the more effective, a neat final boss type design, revelations about a talked about event.

This is... easily the dullest first episode I've seen this season. The character designs have appeal, but the actual character interactions are really numb and the abundant comedy is extremely stock and actually annoying in its prominence. The slow pacing feels like total drag since the show has no sense of atmosphere and there is no real "sense of tone" holding the episode together. I think they spent more time panning the camera slowly up the loli's legs and half-naked torso than actually building up some kind of mood. The best praise that I can give it is that, unlike Symphogear's or Aquarion Evol's first episodes, at least it isn't totally terribad but rather just bland and uninteresting through.

I havent cried this much from an anime since some of the Angel Beats episodes. So emotional and powerful. I Knew Gai wouldnt make it to the end but episode 12 was just plain shocking and depressing already, especially with everything coming to revelation, has to be devastating for Shou. I hope he can rise to the occasion as we explore the rest with Daart, the GHQ and whoever is in control of both

I see the perspective they were trying to go for, but... no. Aside from that, it was a good episode with nice background art and coloring and enjoyable character interactions driven by Anne's sparkling theatrical personality.

Dub, I alternated the second half with sub and dub, and dub felt more authentic and believable, plus JYB...

Good question! Unfortunately I am not familiar with the dub, so I can't say if it helps or hurts the experience.

Here's a very direct comparison to show why I'm extremely happy with the way CG is used in Akito. It would be almost impossible to recreate the original design by Akiman with all the details and minor elements in completely 2D animation, and actually animate it with the fast action scenes. The design would have to be significantly simplified and a lot of the panels would have to be ironed out just to make painting it frame by frame in 2D not a total nightmare:

Anyway, as for GC 12, I just didn't give a fuck the entire time I was asking myself why anything was happening. Was I supposed to feel like all of this made sense? Did I just not pay enough attention to the previous episodes? I don't understand why stories can be so bad! Aren't shows made in groups? Why doesn't someone speak up and stop this kind of thing from happening?
I don't think I have the heart to go on anymore . . . I'll be back when Spring starts.
I like a lot of the dub (dub Lloyd is super great) but the gap in Lulus is just too great. Especially since it is so important for him to be fabulous.

Just a rollercoaster of emotions. I think I wanted to believe in the prince and the castle as much as anyonel (even though I heard forever ago it was an illusion.) Even then I still hoped I just heard wrong. Himemiya's last betrayal in the final duel was heartbreaking, Utena struggling through the pain doubly so. Everything about this was so wonderfully tense such that I felt it really could have gone either way rather than kicking back and waiting for Utena to win.
Totally bought into Utena failing as well when no one could remember her and Akio said he was going to start everything over again. Thankfully she did save Himemiya.
