Can't wait for Vita though. And if my PS3 dies break, hopefully Vita will download games from PSN faster than the PSP could.
It should, just by virtue of supporting a later version of WiFi (although with all the people complaining of download speeds via WiFi on the PS3... perhaps not).

that game would be a must buy for me if it didn't use a gimmicky touch control and was a regular side scroller
Is it gimmicky just because it's a touch control? It looks like a key part of the core gameplay to me, and the mechanic would be much more clumsy (because you'd need some kind of Okami style pause) if you were to do it with the sticks.

Is it true that buying vita games via psn will be cheaper than physical copies? Don't remember where i read that...
We're still waiting to find out of the EU/US. I'm not optimistic - it's been my understanding that DLC/DD hasn't been as popular in Japan as in the west so it makes sense to add that extra incentive. Brick and mortar retailers also don't seem to hold the same sway over the platform holders in Japan from what I can gather.

looks like Amazon finally added release-date delivery to the memory cards

though just like when they first added it to the First Edition bundle it's borked right now and you can't actually change your shipping to it

they'll probably get it sorted out over the new couple days just like the First Edition bundle

It's up for all cards except the 32GB, was able to change my 16GB to release day delivery, but not my 32GB.

Ok, but one of my questions remains:

Will the first edition bundle available at physical stores or is it online-only?

Do I really need to pre-order it? It does not look like it will be sold out by launch, right?

So.. I'm thinking about just getting the starter kit for the Vita, since it's only $40.
It comes with a 4GB memory card.
How big are the games on PSN going to be?
And how much do save files take up?
I'm wondering if I should just get all of my accessories separate, instead of getting the starter kit.

Talking about Fifa 12 on PS Vita:

- Any chance it's going to be a launch title as someone told?
- Any new video that shows the screen close enough to judge the quality of this porting?

Thanks!

IIRC Uncharted is 2.6GB

And on one of the boxes I've seen (Wipeout?) it said save files were 8MB. Not sure if that is indicative of all games.

Also, patches/updates/DLC will take up a certain size as well. Keep in mind "4GB" will not truly be 4000MB either.

I dont think I could recommend a 4GB mem stick if you plan on using the Vita to play digital copies of games.

Sorry, poor writing on my part. That 2.6GB (it's actually 2777MB) is not the size for the save file but the size for the actual game.

Also, you can see the size of more games at this link. Again, these are file size for the actual games, not the save file.

Haha thanks for clearing it up. I was about to say.. 2.6 GB for a save file?? >_o
Hmm.. yeah, I think I'll go with an 8GB.

Dat Blazblue is a hefty package.

Wow, you're right.. I just noticed. 3 gigs. Geez.

Dream Club is bigger than Uncharted, lol.

Nice to see that HSG is so small. I have the physical version preordered but should get a PSN card instead and buy digital. The PSP games were perfect to have digitally.
Are there any videos/impressions showing off the Vita-PC connectivity to transfer games back and forth? Im wondering if its as simple and painless as Media Go.

Any good racing game to get? Ridge Racer would be a choise, but I do not want an incomplete game.... Asphalt is a port from the mobile versions, right? (so not a visual showcase). F1 is too niche....

Wipeout if that's your thing seems the best bet. MNR as well, although the lack of proper online racing I can imagine is going to limit appeal for a lot of people.

And from the official trailer, it seems that F1 plays and looks like shit.

Is Motorstorm RC still launch window or has the date been adjusted? Too many racing games I'm interested in at this point but Wipeout 2048 and Motorstorm RC are at the top of the list.

pretty sure the PS blog said launch day IIRC?

No online though :( Digital only if that matters.

I know this is a US launch thread but still.

SCEE seems to be putting a lot of effort into their marketing for PSVita right now. Their "Vita Rooms" are travelling the country and it seems they have some BIG names there - big football players, a top DJ and even Amir Kahn were there on just the first night. They've got people there with lots of twitter followers to tweet about it too. Seems they're putting a lot of effort in to get the word out on it.
