Chud is a pretty awesome coach. He was great when he was at Cleveland and I always wanted them to try him at OC.

They did for two years:

In 2007, the Browns ranked eighth overall on offense and finished 2nd in the AFC North with a record of 10-6. However, after the 2008 season Chudzinski was replaced by Brian Daboll as offensive coordinator, following the firing of Browns head coach Romeo Crennel and the hiring of new head coach Eric Mangini.

You're right, they've had some luck getting here. Pats should win and decisively. Pats are more healthy, have a better offense, and are at home. If the defense holds up, then it should be an easy win. Ravens are about the only team left in the AFC that could manhandle them. If Houston gets there they might have a shot. Who would you guys rather face?

I'd rather face Houston, if only for the fact that they'd have to kick the Ravens out to get there, and I'd get immense joy out of that. But both teams could beat us, and probably rather easily.

Mark Malone?

It's by far the best thing I do to get myself ready. Here you are, about to play a game that the world says is the most important thing in the world. Win and they praise you. Lose and they crush you. And here I have a chance to talk to the coolest, most courageous people. It puts it all into perspective. The game doesn't really matter. I mean, I'll give 100 percent of my heart to win it, but in the end, the thing I most want to do is not win championships or make a lot of money, it's to invest in people's lives, to make a difference.

The GOP would love to have him in about 20 years.

I would rather face the Ravens. Revenge for the 09 season. I have a feeling the Pats will start off slow and lose tomorrow, and that the defense will give up 200+ rushing again.

Conrad are you Asian?

Why is everyone in NFL-GAF Asian?

It's like I've been posting in North Korea all these years.
Nope, three quarters Irish, the rest a mixture of Scandinavian and German lineage.

Do I seriously look Asian? I never heard that before, although my friend actually told me last night that I look "gooky" i.e. squint my eyes whenever I have my picture taken.

Pats are 2-5 in their last 7 playoff games against teams they played in the regular season. That is a really odd stat, I would think Belichick's prep would cause them to do better against teams they had already faced.

Edit: Fisher is taking the Rams job ESPN is reporting.

Can't do shit when your team is garbage like in 09, and when your defenses are fucking terrible. Not much he can do as far as coaching goes, but his personnel decisions have been horrific for the most part. The personnel problems are the real reason the Pats have lost in the playoffs recently. They just aren't built for playoff success. His drafts have been especially horrendous. The 2010 draft is good(the 2011 drafts looks ok so far), but other than that it's been pretty terrible for a while now. The drafting especially on defense has really cost this team a super bowl run. So many fucking busts on the defense.

Another problem is that for whatever reason(most likely his ego) Belichick refuses to get real coordinators. McDaniels coming back is a nice step forward, but the coordinators the Pats have are garbage. It took a while before O'brien even became a decent coordinator.

Jeff Fisher wanted an equal share of personnel control.

St. Louis was willing to provide that, but Miami was not.

Former Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer is becoming a popular guy.

In addition to interviewing for the Alabama OC job -- that reportedly will take place Friday -- he's drawing interest from the Falcons and Jaguars, according to various reports.

The Falcons are looking to replace OC Mike Mularkey, who was hired as the Jaguars' head coach -- a job Schottenheimer coveted. Now Mularkey is looking to hire his own coordinator. Funny thing, this coaching carousel.

From Schottenheimer's standpoint, you'd think the most appealing job would be the Falcons because he'd be working with a talented, Matt Ryan-led offense (didn't look so talented against the Giants) and for a defensive-minded head coach, Mike Smith.

But it sounds like Schottenheimer is really thinking hard about the Alabama job. He has told friends that he wouldn't mind getting into the college ranks, and he apparently has an excellent chance to land the Crimson Tide job. Wonder how famous Alabama alum Joe Namath would feel about that?

Presumably, Schottenheimer wouldn't have autonomy working for an offensive-minded coach in Jacksonville. Plus, he'd inherit Blaine Gabbert, coming off a rough rookie year.

Other candidates for the Atlanta job are former Ravens coach Brian Billick, Packers QBs coach Tom Clements and Jaguars OC Dirk Koetter, according to the NFL Network.

Meanwhile, David Lee, whom the Jets interviewed Wednesday (presumably for QBs coach), reportedly was hired by the Bills.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
