Solid result... and if weren't for a combo of poor finishing and good defending/goaltending by Bolton the final scoreline could have been even worse.

Essien is back! If he can be close to the player he was a couple of years back that will be massive for Chelsea.

Liverpool draw at home again? Shocking!

He's been shite.

That is complete bullshit, he has done fine in the half hour he's been given. Just a poor performance all around by Liverpool. Honestly some fans have just decided that he is to blame for everything, he could not have even come on today and i bet people would still be slating him.

We didn't create anything before Carroll was on the lack of creativity continued when he was there. Can hardly blame him for what happened. It would have been a miracle to turn our scraps into a goal at any point.

Dalglish is a terrible manager.

lolwut? 4 league titles and 2 FA titles and he's a terrible manager?

Barely won anything, falling all over the place didn't have any shots, barely made an impact at all. It's a sad day when Kuyt is much better than you. And this is coming from someone who likes Carroll.

Premier league full-time scores:
Code:
Aston Villa 1 - 1 Everton
Blackburn 3 - 1 Fulham
Chelsea 1 - 0 Sunderland
Liverpool 0 - 0 Stoke
Man Utd 3 - 0 Bolton
Tottenham 1 - 1 Wolves
West Brom 1 - 2 Norwich

When someone of Nicklas Bendtner's skill level is taking through balls and knocking you to the ground, you know you're shit at defending. That's David Luiz right now.

We were more than lucky this afternoon. A side like Napoli is not going to throw away all the chances we gave up today. Spurs drop points, so it's not all bad.

Paul Pogba is a bit unlucky isn't he? He's been in the squad for the last 3/4 matches but hasn't been involved because we've been crap.

Then when we have a decent lead he can't come on because Chicha needs to replace Welbeck.

Every cloud...

Happy for the win. We could of went about it much better but then we wouldn't be Chelsea.

WTf were you wathing? He fell over like twice when he came on, changed his boots and was fine afterwards. He didn't have any shots because there was absolutely zero opportunity for him to have them. Kuyt was in no way better than him.

chicha would have come on anyway I think. Fergie knows chicha needs games.

They had absolutely nothing. Such a disgrace to English football. Don't even try to recognize their performance!

It was our fault in the end. 5 defenders, 0 strikers.

Liverpool are tactically a mess.

They start a line-up with absolutely no vertical threat, don't flood the box, and then proceed to bang in dozens of crosses. Even though Stoke pose just a tiny counter-attacking threat, Henderson stays back alongside Gerrard.

It was only once Carroll and Bellamy came on that Liverpool started showing some noticeable shape and bending Stoke's D. I was surprised that Webb didn't award a penalty.

As for Carroll, I think he's a fine player, but that Dalglish lacks the tactical nous to find a way to use him. This was a game that AC should have started, and Kuyt only brought in for the last 10 minutes.

Yep, was thinking the exact same. I thought he would get minutes against Blackburn and Bolton at home.

He won't get to feature over the next few weeks with the fixtures we have coming up and after that it's into the run in so I'm not sure he will really be trusted there. Europa League perhaps..

I have nothing in particular gainst GSK but seeing Shaqiri flying off there is for me a straight no.
I am much more comfortable watching him in the Bundesliga or eventually, Premier League.

yeah he has, hope he gets a chance sooner or later, otherwise he'll be gone.

Kenny to blame for today I think. Fuck is the point of playing 5 at the back against Stoke?

Piss poor result.

Aye got to put that on Kenny & Co. I think he (and I) expected Stoke to do more than they did, which was absolutely nothing. He should've brought Carragher off for Carroll. Stoke played very deep and we couldn't get in behind them at all. No chances except the one Kuyt missed and even that came from a bit of luck. Carroll should've had a penalty, but Webb's a s**t-out Manc so not shocked we didn't get one.

All in all, credit to Stoke, they played for a point and got one in true Allerdycian style. I laughed at the end when their whole team was lined up on the 18 yard line, even the commentator commented on it. It was like a wagon train defence from a western. But it got them a point so they won't care.

We need to create more chances. Never mind sticking them away, we're failing to create them now and that's a worrying sign.

It's sad people seem to 'need' to blame Carroll for everything. Kuyt missed a sitter and Liverpool looked a bit better when Carroll came on. Stoke just defended deep and we couldn't get behind their defence. It was a piss poor perfermance from Liverpool for the whole 90 minutes. Carroll had no opportunities to shoot or head because he was marked out of the game (again). At one corner there were 3 stoke players marking him. He still should've had a penalty because Huth pulled him down.

Lost my bet because of Liverpool, thought it would be a pretty safe bet for the win.

Oh well, Birmingham City 6 - 0 Milwall more than makes up for it.

This old classic... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkRcCt1Ikag

At the end of the day we gave a very, very bad goal away from a set-piece. Again. Yes it wasn't a corner and we had another goal incorrectly ruled out, but title winning sides don't concede goals like that at home. Our defending on aerial balls has got to improve, as has our shooting and our corners/free-kicks. Some of Bale's efforts at goal were non-league standard. Wolves played incredibly cynically but that's fair enough, what you can't do is concede a goal in that situation.
