She's no Akai Shuuichi, but she is a pretty awesome character in her own right. There's a lot of depth to her. Hayashibara does a great job with the portrayal, too. Playing an adult trapped in a kid's body isn't the easiest thing to pull off, but she's pitch perfect in the role.

Haibara continues to be one of the best characters in the show, but you're right about Shuuichi being a fucking badass! XD

Best Im@s girls are Azusa, Kotori, and Makoto.

Bolded is quite correct.

From what I've seen of Idolmaster, Chihaya is the best character when it comes to actually being a character instead of a one-dimensional fetish. Not that that's saying much.

I dont know why but that kind of shit is just super annoying in anime.
Who the hell calls someone a pervert dog? Thats just dumb.

Arjuna 1

That was... actually nowhere near as bad as I was expecting. I guess the fun stuff starts to kick in fairly soon. Whilst the CG was pretty bad I did like what I heard of the soundtrack.

Best Im@s girls are Azusa Ritsuko, Kotori, and Makoto.

no, my vocabulary is not the issue, you're grasping for some kind of semantic argument that isnt even there, for reasons unknown.
Because it is a semantics issue. You don't know what pretentious means. You've even said melodrama and pretentiousness are almost synonymous while thinking melodrama is a synonym for over-dramatization.

you know you could take your pointless bitching to the PMs instead of shitting up the thread
or is it that you hoping for some good old fashioned groupthink to back you up?
or you could make the simple inference as to what i was talking about instead of acting as the living link between anime and melodrama :)

ROD TV is awesome, haters aside (and there are a lot of haters). Maggie in particular was badass.

Yeah the show had a few issues but it was still every enjoyable. Entire cast was great.

Maggie was awesome, and it always annoyed me that Kaiyodo did figures of Anita (which they packed with the DVD in the US) and Michelle but no Maggie. Makes the set look incomplete.

Idolmaster Ep23

Serious imas is bad imas. Haruka is a weak character. Most of this episode was so boring. The final scene was HILARIOUS though. Lulz.

Idolmaster Ep24

Also kinda boring, but the scene with the little kids was sooooooooooooo cute. Made me feel all fuzzy inside. The rest of the episode after that was just :firehawk :firehawk. Meh.

Idolmaster Ep25 (END)

Pretty much the most predictable and formulaic conclusion the show could possibly have. You can basically see this ending coming since Ep1. I can't believe they also recycled songs and animation. Total disappointment. It's also disappointing how
half of the ending is a recap of the entire series. Followed by random tree-growing animation (which was nice).
At least the epilogue is good. The last few episodes really needed more fun and less serious.
Are you suggesting a light piece of fluff such as Idolm@ster had no business being serious or that they're just really bad at being serious?

Figures they'd roll out the blond and the loli but not the tall bookish lesbian. Admittedly almost every girl in the show was into other girls.

The lulzy end to ep.23 probably suggests that the latter was the case here.

The groupthink would be avoiding you right now which others are doing. If you think I'm participating in one, my actions should actually be the opposite of the consensus of that groupthink you're accusing me of adoring.

If you think it's pointless, why are you still responding to me? I've said this twice to you already, if you don't want to engage in a discussion, stop replying. That's how you can avoid arguments you don't want to participate in. You continually doing so is only revealing you insist on getting the last word in as always like before.

Rinne no Lagrange 2

It is nice to have a character that's not entirely angst, and/or revenge based, as awesome as they are when done right, but the flipside is kind of annoying. There's no rhyme or reason to Madoka's actions, no motivation, and it's making the whole show seem incredibly awkward. She's told to do, and she does with a giggle, smile, and a knock on the head.

In one sense, it's the more natural of portrayals; a 14-15 year old girls against an interstellar organization is going to have almost no say, and get but the most filtered of info, but she doesn't even ask for that much. She's not just genki, she's dull.

Come now, her motivation is clearly to follow out a request from a comrade. You know, it was all explained in the first episode! Then that naturally grew into
saving the earth
, or something.

I guess that makes her closer to a Super Robot protagonist in that she has less motivation to be doing what she's doing.

Why would you expect Earth Maiden Arjuna to be bad? You must let go of your sinful modern expectations.

And yes, amazing soundtrack. It stays that good the whole way through.

~flower declaration of your heart~ Rinne no Lagrange 1:

I'm still not sure what Nissan thinks they are doing with this show, other than giving it the kind of budget that Production I.G. can use to really make animation that just shines. The whole thing glows with color and light in a way that only I.G. can make things glow with color and light. Well, maybe after the disappointment that was Broken Blade, an OVA which bored the shit out of me, I.G. can redeem themselves in the giant robot field with this show. MARU!

Bakemonogatari 13

There were a lot of cries of "Araragi was never this much of a pedo!" after the first episode of Nise, but he gropes Hachikuji pretty hard at the beginning of this one.

He's clearly levelled up the beginning of the next series though.
Urusei Yatsura episode 4 of 100000
uy-4-1.jpg

Nothing particularly special, but this is, as far as I can tell, the very first appearance of Oshii's peculiar interest in giant flying koi fish. Jexhius, take notes.

Quite, and you know there's only 3000 episodes of the show, no need to exaggerate.

It's Xebec.

Knight in the Area 1-2

Yeah, I don't know. A lot of this strikes me as really dumb. The reason Kakeru won't shoot with his left? Dumb. That he can't figure out who the alien is? Dumb. That scene at the end of the second episode and what is surely to follow? Dumb. Even if you take away the soccer element there is little fun to be had with these characters, I feel. Maybe they get awesome later on but so far I'm not impressed.

I do like some of the tracks, though.

Rinne no Lagrange 1-2

The pacing of this has been kind of odd, especially with the lack of exposition. It's hard to care about random robot fights when you don't know anything about the setting or who these people are. Something aliens and protect earth and jersey club? The protagonist just seems dim witted right now. The show looks good and episode 1 had that suplex, but beyond that there hasn't been anything compelling.

Dote Up A Cat
sounds like the spiritual sequel to wanko to kurasou
mikan ;_;

Just as long as you understand that Yomiko Readman is MAI WAIFU. DO NOT TAKE.
damn, we gonna hafta throwdown to settle this shit. waifu wars motherfucker

No they don't. Isekai no Monogatari had a similar protagonist and it gets annoying real fast.
maybe shit like guilty crown has vastly lowered my standards for main characters ._.

The Door Into Summer

An interesting story that is beautiful to look at and fun to watch.

Sex? Yes
Drama? Yes
Angst? Yes
Flying Petals? Yes

Excluding the gender, Madoka exhibits many of the same traits. That was the main point of the first episode, showing how selfless she was. She also is for the most part in the first episode pretty much perfect at everything.
I might agree they share some of the same traits, but they are distinctively different characters because of their characterization in their respective shows. Kenshi's character is actually rather unique for a harem protagonist, so the comparison between him and Madoka comes off absurd for me. Their reactions from gratitude are wholly different. The episode where Kenshi works for the school as a contractual laborer under Lashara makes it even more obvious.

Also, she's far from Kenshi-level of perfect. Until the show says otherwise, she's talented but isn't master talent level like Kenshi is.

UChip no need to be so serious man.
Here is a hypercute song from an h game about coin machine figures.
Its disturbingly cute fun! Forget your troubles. Let the moe heal your soul.

im not serious, in fact, its amusing that this guy is still on my case.
but when you accuse someone of not knowing the definition of a very common word you're basically insulting them. Hence the retaliation ad hominem that was well deserved.
destroying my eardrums with that music is a very serious issue though.

Aquarion 14

Man, Silvia and Sirius are jerks. Apollo just
lost his best friend and declined saving him because it would kill those 2, yet they aren't even trying to be sympathetic until the end.
Assholes :/

Rinne no Lagrange - 02

Mamiko Noto should yell like that more.

Still think they should have picked someone else for that role though.
