School Days 1

This was fairly pedestrian until
the kiss at the end.

I'm guessing Makoto ends up fucking all the girls that were highlighted in the background at the end of the ep?

It's Xebec.

Xebec is owned by Production I.G. Broken Blade was the same way, credited to both Xebec and Production I.G. They are the same company AFAIK, and I treat them as such.

~flower declaration of your heart~ Rinne no Lagrange 2:

This show has an interesting visual motif involving old-style wooden chairs. It's seen all over the ED animation, but there's a brief shot during the episode as well featuring the chairs.

There's a fair bit of fanservice as well in this episode, and sometimes it's used rather skillfully. Lan's reflection is talking to Madoka in the mirror while the camera is zoomed in on something else.

I like the OP and ED of this show a lot, anyways. MARU!

No, they're not the same company, and Production I.G. does not own Xebec. IG Port is the holding company that owns Production IG and Xebec. They're totally different animation studios, and companies.

Production IG is not involved in the animation production or direction of the show. The concept is created by Production IG, and they are involved in some creative aspects (like the writing and general planning of the franchise), but the anime is mostly Xebec's work.

Considering the overall director is the guy behind Nadesico and Stellvia, and the series director is the guy who directed Heroic Age and Fafner Heaven and Earth, calling this a Production IG show is totally wrong.

Arjuna 1

That was... actually nowhere near as bad as I was expecting. I guess the fun stuff starts to kick in fairly soon. Whilst the CG was pretty bad I did like what I heard of the soundtrack.

Clearly someone has been building up your expectations for some bizarre reason.

the 3dsmax shatter effect in full effect

The show actually makes effective use of CGI when appropriate. Actually, both Broken Blade and this show do a good job of blending the CGI and hand-drawn elements.

Sometimes I think that ducky's kinda scary with all the stuff he knows about stuff. This usually lasts for a few minutes, then I decide it's okay and move on to the next anime I'm watching.

break blade was cool i guess
kind of disappointing that shows cant do this more often
i mean macross zero did it alright way back in 2002
10 years ago...

You know it's okay to admit you're wrong when called out. No need to deflect the subject.

This is the Internet! Admitting you're wrong about anything on the Internet is the same as shooting yourself in the foot!

Yeah yeah, okay. Thank you for correcting me about Xebec and Production I.G. /pout

Speaking of fanservice in Lagrange, I like that parts of their uniform disappear when they activate the robot.

I saw that too, they definitely needed to ensure Madoka had the Zettai Ryouiki when she was piloting the Imber Nirvash Vox Aura so the part of her uniform around her thighs disappears when it activates. MARU!

Edit: To follow the aliens theme:

Now I'm more interested in the tech behind their uniforms than what powers their robots. It's like some strange plot armor material that allows artists to create fanservice at will.

I didn't notice the reflection. But that is pretty amazing that they so naturally did a crotch and arse of the same female in one scene like that. Nise needs to step it up.

The way you word that it seems to imply that Asuka's original plugsuit wasn't classless too.

good point!

or Rei's or any of them for that matter... man it's been a while since i've watched the original series.

I just remember a lot of people making a big fuss over her new suit in 2.0

It's like "alright we're already used to the original suits now WOAH HEY WHAT THE HELL IS THIS"

I agree with everything you've said about these two series, except that you got them backwards. Bodacious Pirates is the one that's slow and boring and dull and shit.

You are gonna end up finishing the show before I do.

My man regulus knows whats up, bodacious space pirates is terrible. Should have called it atrocious space pirates.
