wow... just wow.

EDIT:
don't have a problem with the second one, fair game even if wrong.

but the first one is all kinds of tasteless. lol its mlk day so we will use another black person as a reference, good idea! The idea that US business interests were ever in the position of blacks during the civil rights struggle is absolutely laughable. sick

It's pretty wrong because it implies that Obama is trying to regulate big business and make the top 1% pay their share, when in fact he is doing neither.

Ironically, a joke character created by a comedian had as much chance of winning the nomination as John Huntsman.

As for the Sullivan article, the main thing I gleaned from it was that the entire Republican platform (pretty much lying about every aspect of Obama's record, and opposing everything he does) is based on a giant sham. Once it gets brought to light, and it will get brought to light, the GOP is going to be in a whole lot of trouble.

Right, let's remind ourselves what Obama and the Democrats have said about the Republican platform:

1) Die quickly if you get sick
2) Dirty water
3) Dirty air
4) Let autistic children fend for themselves

Did anyone post this FoxNews poll?
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/01/15/fox-news-poll-2012-obama-romney-race-would-be-tight/

In a potential Obama-Romney election, 46 percent of voters would back Obama and 45 percent Romney if the election were held today. The president’s narrow advantage is well within the poll’s three percentage-point margin of sampling error.

And behind those numbers is a striking contrast: 74 percent of Obama backers say they are voting “for” him rather than “against Romney” (21 percent). Yet for Romney, his support is mainly anti-Obama. Fifty-eight percent of Romney voters say they would be voting “against Obama” rather than “for Romney” (33 percent).

All in all, 51 percent of voters have a favorable opinion of Obama and 46 percent unfavorable. For Romney, 45 percent view him favorably and 38 percent unfavorably.
Romney’s venture capitalist background is viewed positively by a majority of voters. By a 54-30 percent margin, more voters think it is a “good thing” for a candidate to have that kind of financial experience and knowledge rather than a “bad thing” because the candidate would be too close to Wall Street and the greed that caused the financial collapse.

He does not have a jobs plan? What about the stimulus? What about the recent "Jobs plan"? C'mon. Maybe you don't like his plan but don't sound like a fool.

If they say it enough times, Americans will eventually believe it.

The audience is cheering loudly for ALL of them.

Oooooh, Santorum nailed Romney.

Is the audience drunk or on laugh tracks? They're cheering the same for everything.

Santorum is making Romney look like an ass right now.

To channel Glenn Beck for a little bit, I'm starting to wonder why Romney hasn't released his tax returns. He's going to have to eventually; it makes me wonder if there's something potentially embarrassing in them.

It's probably just because he's rich as hell and he'd rather not have just how rich he is floating around during a campaign where he's already criticized as being the candidate of the 1%. I think some thing said he was likely the 3rd richest person to ever run for president. That's probably all there is.

Choice quote... awesome

And Mitt kinda meandered into nothingness with the response. After all these years he's still unconvincing on this question.

Well he makes most of his money from dividends and capital gains these days . . . so he might actually pay at a lower rate than most Americans. That might not look too good.

Haha, I like the rationalizing.

What rationalizing are you doing now?

Yeah, but you'd think he'd want to get that out in the primary while no one really cares? I don't think it'll be too serious when they do come out, I'm just not seeing any tactical advantage to delaying their release.

Add to that the fact that he wants to lower capital gains even more....

Or wait, was he the one that wants to get rid of capital gains tax altogether? I forget.

When exactly do they get released?

He hasn't released them because it'll show that he pays a lower effective tax rate than most Americans, despite him being so wealthy.
