I'm not against anything of what he just said about younger kids working. Its optional, why is that bad? Front desk jobs? Light janitorial work?
Because it effectively targets poor kids and replaces actual learning for a STEM job with grunt work that will get them no where up the economic ladder. It's indirect economic discrimination. We're talking about 9 year olds, not 16 year olds. France spends an extra $3 per school meal to prepare fresh meat and vegetables prepared by a chef, but in poor ass 3rd world America we can't afford to hire a janitor.
