I really have to watch this.
You're never too old to learn from anime.

Why are they spoiler tagging everythingSomehow this news managed to slip through the cracks in the last few days: Funimation has licensed High School DxD, for both simulcast starting 1/23 and DVD/BD release at a future time.

Yup, in fact that was also Funi, last year at Anime Expo, as "Cat Planet Cuties". Their site for it seems to indicate some sort of release early this year.Did anyone ever license Asobi Ni Iku yo? bBcause...alien catgirls.

Figures that Funimation would pick up a show like High School DxD.
That's ANN's way of joining the SOPA protests.
I have to congratulate you guys. Multiple people watching School Days, Code Geass, and Arjuna is like 8 simultaneous trainwrecks. I don't know if we've ever caused such an impressive clusterfuck of schadenfreude before.
And, you know, it's nice to not be the lab rat for once.
Well, I could always start up Simoun. That would be an additional trainwreck. Maybe even combine it with Melody of Oblivion.
Simoun is a trainwreck now?
Yeah but Gintama is just a gag series, when all's said and done, it doesn't seem to be that concerned with becoming a long-running story kind of show. That's not to say I wouldn't like to what that show would be, but Gintama isn't trying to be it. It's kind of like Patlabor in that sense, they both occasionally delve into the 'serious arc' but that arc rarely affects the day-to-day comedy episodes.
I hate to admit it but I still haven't watched Geass. :<I have to congratulate you guys. Multiple people watching School Days, Code Geass, and Arjuna is like 8 simultaneous trainwrecks. I don't know if we've ever caused such an impressive clusterfuck of schadenfreude before.

I was thinking of watching the Haruhi movie and K-On!! after this "experience" but now...
And another show is added to the licensing plie: Funimation has licensed High School DxD, for both simulcast starting 1/23 and DVD/BD release at a future time.
Note that this is the first, and so far only, show that Funi has picked up from the current season.
You joke, but it's true!School Days is a brilliant deconstruction of the harem genre. You guys just don't get it.

I assume everything on the internet is sarcastic.Who said I was joking? ;p
I assume everything on the internet is sarcastic.![]()
Wait... are you saying it's unreasonable?!That's a perfectly reasonable stance.
You joke, but it's true!
(in b4 7throll complains about "deconstruction")

Oh man I haven't ice skated in several years.
Makes me want to go down to the local rink for a couple hours.
Sakura trying to ice skate is super hnnnnng.
This has been happening to me for a while, but now I've got to ask, what is the full name of this grotesque Midori thing, because everytime I see the name and the word grotesque my head is filled with this image.

And it just plain confuses the crap out of me.

I'd be fine with it not affecting the day to day episodes, but it doesn't even affect the other serious arcs.
Madoka is actually a deconstruction of deconstructions of the magical girl genre. I wrote an essay on this in my Japanese culture class.
There's no sarcasm on the internet!
I was never good at ice-skating. I feel their pain. :/
This Midori is awesome! Seriously one of the biggest surprises I encountered. I was hellbent on not watching it because of the promo images and assumptions of non-stop masturbation jokes, when it was recommended to me by a trusted female friend of mine who assured me it was anything but. One of the best recommendations she's ever given me. ^^;

Sakura and Yukito team up for a puzzle solving contest around town.
No Card to capture but it was a touching episode. Something I'm sure Nelvana tried VERY hard to delete from existence.
Up next: KURISIMASU EPISODO!
My biggest complaint with the actual content is how the fights played out. After the opening acts, very rarely did a win actually feel like a well-deserved one. Even when sacrifices became the norm, it still felt like an asspull that the enemy would have been able to handle had they either not been fucking around or flat out giving up despite being more than capable of absolutely destroying the Bronze Saints. The Gold Saints arc is particularly notable as only one fight actually delivered on both the tension and satisfaction that comes with an earned victory. Other than that fight, there is only one other that I actually liked which was Seiya vs Shiryu because it used a legitimate strategy, something that all but disappears from the series afterwards.
I'd be fine with it not affecting the day to day episodes, but it doesn't even affect the other serious arcs.
