It was always supported.

All Windows Phone 7 devices, at minimum, must include the following:

Capacitive, 4-point multitouch screen with WVGA (800x480) resolution
1 GHz ARM v7 "Cortex/Scorpion" or better processor
DirectX9 rendering-capable GPU
256MB of RAM with at least 8GB of Flash memory
Accelerometer with compass, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor and Assisted GPS
5-megapixel camera with flash
FM radio tuner
6 dedicated hardware buttons - back, Start, search, camera, power/sleep and Volume Up and Down

Dell Venue Pro is $269 at Buy.com.

This could be a nice first smartphone for my wife, who is currently using a blackberry and would probably appreciate the keyboard.

Edit: How is the Venue Pro. Read it just got the latest update as well.

Looks like we have a new premier WP7 carrier in the states. US Cellular is pushing the 8107 update out, even before AT&T, Sprint or Verizon. :lol

Games are the only thing I find lacking when I compare my phone to my friend's iPhones. I was previously an android user and I don't think I could ever go back now after using wp7.

The platform has it's issues of course but that's true of all of them.

My main concern right now is that my upgrade is in April and I see nothiny yet that would provide me with a significantly improved experience or hardware. Not entirely a bad thing, omnia has held up well

Yeah, it's great how well the phones are aging. The only reason I want to upgrade my Omnia soon is the 8 gigs limit. 4G isn't deployed here yet, but that would be the other reason, along with better camera specs. Performance wise, the phones run great, and the support is light-years better than Android.

US Cellular has WP7s? Not in my area, at least...

Edit: Never mind, they do. HTC Pro. How is that phone? My Mom is looking for a new phone.

:lol ok. I assume you had one for awhile?

Edit: I think I remember you talking about it.

The phone itself is wonderful. I got one at launch and bought one for my little brother this past christmas.

Dell's support is ass. You're almost always going to get a India-based support rep, even on the Mobility page, who thinks its a printer and will redirect you after yelling at you in bad english.

GUYZ! Does anyone know anything about 'jailbreaking' a WP7, I have a few questions:

- Is it possible?
- Can I jailbreak my phone and download apps that are not available in my region (only Netflix).
- Is there anything else I can do with it?

A link or something would be nice. I did a google search and some things came up but I'm not sure if I can trust these people. :p

The latest Facebook app update on iOS fixes that, and it looks identical to touch.facebook.com

You'd miss out on a LOT of the big games. If gaming doesn't matter to you at all, there are still quite a few social apps you'd miss out on...

For example, stuff like Instagram (photo sharing app) words with friends (there are alternatives, but WWF is VERY popular), scramble with friends, etc.

A big one for me is the Mint.com app, but you may not use that for budgeting.

You know, I guess it's easier to post your wants. Sometimes if the official app isn't there, there's a replacement. For example, my friend wanted Untapped and Stumbleupon. For Untapped, there is an app called "Mm Beer" but there is nothing for Stumbleupon.

Is Spotify on WP?

Er, what?!

The keyboard is a great size. The phone might have problems but if you're buying from a retail store, instead of second-hand, then warranty shouldn't be an issue.

True, true on the warranty. I found the keyboard too small (and I have small hands).

TheVerge claim to have contacted Argos and they said that the price was legit..

If you check their update on the article it says this

Update 2: In spite of the words of comfort that Argos offered to us over the phone, the company's taken to Facebook to inform its customers that the Lumia 800 was mispriced and all orders at the erroneous price will be cancelled. Cancellation text messages have also been sent out to those who thought they'd managed to complete a successful order.

Whoever they spoke to on the phone clearly wasn't clued up.

I just received notification of an update on my HTC Trophy. Just curious as to whether or not anyone here happens to know what the update contains. I'm performing the update, anyway, but I suppose that I'm curious as to whether it's likely to only contain bug fixes or if it'll introduce any new functionality.

Zune shows you a change log right before you update your phone.

Ah, assuming that it's the latest one that's listed (as opposed to the one right after Mango, which I don't recall getting), I'm very glad to see this fix: On-screen keyboard. Fixes an issue to prevent the keyboard from disappearing during typing.

Yes, that's the 8107 update.

What phone do you have and on which carrier are you?

HTC Trophy on Verizon Wireless. Oddly, I checked the software version on my phone, and it still displays the version number of the original Mango release, despite the fact that I've had Mango for a while now. I just ran the update, and everything seemed to go just fine. There are two newer software versions listed on the update site. Weird.

Wait, did Zune say the update included the keyboard fix? If not, then you just got a firmware update for your phone.

Many subscribers to Verizon Wireless who are rocking to the HTC Trophy did share their experiences on how they have started to receive radio firmware updates for the smartphone from HTC. The HTC Trophy’s latest update would mean you can lay the GSM roaming issue to bed, something that affected many owners when they went abroad and returned to the US. The operating system version will remain the same as 7.10.7720.68, while other details include a firmware revision number (2305.13.20110.605) and a radio software version (1.53.00.12.01_23.17w.05.13U).
