Hmm, EB Games has a trade 4 and get Vita for $199 (First Edition), or $149 (Regular).

Hmm....

They've had that deal for months on any hardware. Any game that is $8 or more automatically gives you $25 trade credit towards hardware. Came in handy for my PS3 Display.

I see. I might trade in Mario 3D Land, Kart 7, Tetris Party, and Skylanders. I'm debating Kart 7, but eh.

Are you positive you want to trade in 3D Land and Kart 7?

Absolutely positive?

I think about doing that sometimes and then realize how awesome they are.

Edit: I'm curious if they would count a 32gb memory card as hardware. I should ask.

I just made almost that exact trade last week (minus Skylanders). Mario was good, but once it was done it was done. Tetris Axis(not Party) wasn't very good, and I'm a huge Tetris/Puzzle fan.

If ebgames and gamestop stores work anything alike (which they should since they're both owned by gamestop...) hardware and stuff like memory cards are not the same. Memory cards are considered an accessory. Hardware is only stuff like a game system, with the exception being a Kinect.

I've finished 3D Land and don't really think I'd replay it. I also suck at MK7, lol.

Ah, I meant Axis. Too many weirdly named Tetris games.

Wish Gamestop had that deal. It's not showing up on their website as an active deal.

I'd definitely re-pre-order the Vita at that price. If not, I'll wait for the inevitable price drop :/

My response from a Sony rep:

After further research, I have found that in order to use the built in GPS on the 3G/WiFi PlayStation®Vita you will need to have a 3G plan. For more information on the different models of the PS Vita and their functionality, please visit the link below:

...so now I'm back to undecided on which model to get.

iono I think people who actually have the unit stated otherwise.

random sony reps answering questions worries me.

Weird. AT&T matched the 2GB -> 3GB change with the Vita like they did with the Phone/Tablets but the 250 MB limit is unchanged, its 250 -> 300 MB now for $5 more dollars on other devices.

This really has nothing to do with Sony. At CES they announced the Vitas prices and literally like 2 days later AT&T decided to change up the prices. Was wondering if the Vita would change too and I guess I have my answer.

Not true. JP GAF already confirmed that you don't.

Are there any pictures/video of PSP titles running on Vita? Can anyone speak for how they look? I've been considering re-buying the PSP lately, but I figure I may as well just get a Vita at this point if it can run those games sufficiently.

Here are two pictures showing the filter options.

Go to youtube and type in: Monster Hunter Vita

You'll see a couple of really good videos showing you how it looks.

....looks like Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock will be ready for the VITA's launch, albeit DD only:

We are delighted to be working with the BBC on such an iconic TV property, and to continue to support Sony’s platforms exclusively by developing Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock as a high-quality PSN title for Playstation3 and for the launch of Sony’s new Vita handheld gaming device. The game is currently in development and set to launch in early 2012.

EDIT: Also, does the VITA have a hold button/switch like the PSP? I like to walk using my PSP as an mp3 player, and used hold a lot so the song wouldn't change in my pocket.

lol if you can walk around and conveniently use the psp as an mp3 player, then kudos

but im sure the vita will have a hold button....dont every mp3/portable gadget have one?

dragging their ass as usual :/

I'm also hoping that Amazon has release-date delivery options for all of the launch titles but right now it's just a select few, mostly the ones that launch on Feb. 15 to coincide with the first edition bundle. Most of the games I'm looking to pick up have the Feb. 22 date and only offer the usual delivery options.

I can easily content myself with Hot Shots Golf until the rest of my games arrive, it would just be nice in the mean time to know for sure what games are going to have RDD so I know whether to order from Amazon or go to a B&M retailer.

I hope Gamestop in the US does a promotion for trading in old games to get good credit on new hardware. I have ~30 PS3/360 games I want to trade, and hopefully it will fully pay off the Vita :D

I am for sure not getting the First Edition bundle now. The more I think about it, the less I want Little Deviants or a 4GB memory card. Let alone the actual 3G Vita.

So wipeout 2048 will be available on PSN day one and fit on a 4gb memory card?
Yes. Actually since its official release date is February 15th, it'll actually be there day -7.

Ended up canceling the first bundle, I don't want the 3g version, I'll never use it. Little Deviants looks decent, but I'd rather buy it and a bigger memory card with that $100 I save from the bundle. I never use a case, on my phone or handheld and they look brand new, so I will be fine.
