And I wonder just how many jobs that tax cut would give America...
Romney paid 13.9% on his 2010 taxes according to TPM.
Just silly.
But the capital gains tax is 15%.

Hey everyone . . . vote for the zillionaire guy that fired your brother in-law and pays a lower tax rate than you do. He feels your pain . . . "Who the let dogs out?"
He understands their pain, he's unemployed!the unemployed sure have it easy.
Don't you guys think it would make perfect sense for all congressman and senator tax forms to be released after two years?

Iran isn't land locked... They are also more dangerous.
I never said they had the ability to launch a nuke over at us.
I'm more concerned with them doing something to Israel.
A new Public Policy Polling survey in Florida shows Newt Gingrich leading Mitt Romney by five points in the GOP presidential race, 38% to 33%, followed by Rick Santorum at 13% and Ron Paul at 10%.
Key findings: "Gingrich has gained 12 points since a PPP poll conducted in Florida a week ago. Romney has dropped 8 points. Paul and Santorum have pretty much remained in place. Their favorability numbers show similar trendlines. Gingrich's has increased 8 points from +15 (51/36) to +23 (57/34). Meanwhile Romney's has declined 13 points from +44 (68/24) to +31 (61/30)."

Iran ISN'T a threat to Israel no matter how many blowhards want to claim they are. Why? Because Iran may be able to get one nuke in the air towards Israel but in return there'd be several hundred coming back. Contrary to what many folks claim Iran is run by politicians who are all about survival. By ratcheting up language and possibly bombing Iran, the Israel government is a bigger threat to the region than the Iranian government is currently. Why do you think the U.S. is so concerned about Israel bombing Iran?
He's middle class though and worries about getting laid off.
Also he ran for office 25 times and won 6, but is not a career politician.

well, republicans did nominate bob dole the last time they tried to 1 term a democrat president.
Oh wait, i think Mitt Romney's record on getting votes might be worse than Dole's (so far).
Are you serious? Iran hasn't been supplying Hezbollah and Hamas with rockets and arms?
What range and size of rockets will the IRG give to its proxies if it's backed by an emboldened nuclear regime? And the politicians of Iran are not what Israeli, US, and European military officials are worried about. It's splinter, radical groups of the IRG/Quds forces. The rhetoric and propaganda of the Iranian politicians have created something far more evil, which such politicians or even the Supreme Nacho would not have much control over. Things are more complex than the "unconditional pacifists" want to believe.
Yep. This. Israel even has a nuke armed sub so if Iran struck first, they'd still get nailed.
Iran is blow-hard nation. Being anti-USA and anti-Israel gets Iranian politicians votes just like being anti-Iran gets votes here. And better yet, every time Iran acts all belligerent, the price of oil goes up so that Iran collect billions more on the oil they sell. So people need to learn to largely ignore Iran's pathetic posturing.
Why? What would they gain from doing that? Do you really think Iran is going to declare war on a US ally? How about Iran supplying enemy combatants in Iran with guns, bullets, and rpg's to kill our troops?
Want to play some war games? Iran launches missiles or a strike against the majority of Saudi oil fields. Oil is directly effected and numerous countries are forced to take action.
Why? What would they gain from doing that? Do you really think Iran is going to declare war on a US ally?
It's not a logical move to declare war on Israel, but radical religious regimes are not exactly logical.
Once again "its okay if most of Israel is eradicated by a nuke, we fired a nuke back!" How is this logic anymore sane than anything Santorum says? Nukes man...
That is why it isn't good to vote for the GOP.radical religious regimes are not exactly logical.
How do you go from providing arms to proxies to going on a nuclear suicide mission? They are already giving guns to people to kill our troops, and troops in Israel.
It's not a logical move to declare war on Israel, but radical religious regimes are not exactly logical.
I had a chuckle when Santorum started ragging on Iran for being a Theocracy. If the GOP had their way, American would be too.
Says who?
How do you go from providing arms to proxies to going on a nuclear suicide mission?
Am I the only one who is shocked how polls move week to week? These guys have been visible for years. How does a person get so swayed so easily week to week?
I don't understand how folks can function. A good chunk of the electorate must be only voting with their emotions.

sc0la said:notice he didn't say 15 percent but the "15% rate". My pet theory is that after deductions and (legal) accounting maneuvers he is sub 15% but above 10% effective federal income tax rate.
That poll is from like. December. I don't know why it's getting thrown around so much now. It's literally the only poll in the past two months to show Obama leading Gingrich by less than five points.
THIRTEEN-POINT-FUCKING-NINE-PERCENT? Are you fucking kidding me?

How funny, that's about what I paid.
I paid a higher rate than that, and every couple days Romney makes more than I do in a year.
Let's see. Romney...
Earns more than the annual US median household adjusted gross income every day.
Paid a 13.9% federal tax rate.
Is proposing a tax plan that would cut his own taxes in half.
The general election ads write themselves. So long as we don't have a 2008-style economic meltdown, stick a fork in the guy. Obama just needs to pound those last two points all year, and run a few choice clips from the debates. Good grief.
"I pay all the taxes that are legally required, not a dollar more," he said. "I'm proud of the fact that I pay a lot of taxes."
Oh I'm guessing I paid at least double in effective tax rate last year than Romney.
This quote is also rich. Rich full of creamy horseshit:
Ass.
Second part is not entirely accurate. He would pay half of the rate he otherwise might IF the bush tax cuts expire and the Medicare tax stuff in ACA kicks in.Paid a 13.9% federal tax rate.

I am not saying his tax plan does not see him paying less, but that sentence reads as if his tax plan would drop him down to 6.95% in 2013.
But Romney wants both of those conditions to be true, so whether they are in his plan or not is moot, that's the jist of his desired outcome. I wonder if these radical tax cut promises would evaporate when they got into really serious fiscal trouble, a la Bush 1, or if they would actually just go ahead and cut taxes and bankrupt the country.
