Yeah, but at least Sprung wasn't an iOS port (or heavily derived from one).

(I am probably the only one that liked that game for the DS)

Isn't that the game where you kiss a cow?

I wish they would start announcing the PSN prices on all the Vita games. I am really interested to see how much cheaper they are.

If they're being quiet about it that probably means something.

Wasn't there a Sony press release that mentioned that Vita games downloaded via PSN could be up to 40% cheaper than retail? I'd love to believe it but the cynic in me is thinking otherwise.

No, there was a rumor. Sony released surveys asking if people wanted discounts on DD versions.

Unit 13 is a retail game now? This is supposed to be a bite sized shooter. I expected a 15 dollar price point max.

It was always retail/PSN.

I'm expecting full price for all Vita games on PSN to appease retailers, but regular discounts for PS+ members.

I'm pretty sure this is exactly what is going to happen. I don't see DD day one discount pricing in the near future. maybe they'll give some incentive like extra DLC...

You're right, it was a rumor. Oh well, t'was a nice rumor. I suppose even if Sony wanted to implement something like this, retailers and pubs would have a shit fit.

Hey Takao, you may know this: didn't Sony make it mandatory that any software developed for Vita has to be made available on PSN? Or was that another rumor? If so, hopefully that'll avoid a similar situation like the PSP and Kingdom Hearts BBS.

It appears so. In interviews they've stressed "every" game, and thus far there hasn't been a single Vita game not on PSN.

I changed my mind. I don't think I'll pick up Uncharted anymore. Since it's a play one time never play again, I'm going rent it from Gamefly. Instead, I'll buy a 32GB memory card. For those buying the first edition bundle and getting a bigger memory card, what do you plan on doing with the 4GB that comes with the bundle?

Either gonna use it for my euro account... or sell it on amazon for $15.

Or maybe it will be my "mini" disc, and my ps1/2/psp/vita games will be on the bigger card. Well, once the ps1/2 emulation is working, of course.

I'm debating this as well.. For the price I could easily buy two additional games.
If I don't get it at launch. I'll definitely pick it up at a more reasonable price.

I'm not getting the bundle, but I am getting the starter pack that comes with a 4GB card. The 32BG will be my main card while the 4GB will be used by my brother. Either that or sell it on Ebay.

Sweet. Even if they can't get a handle on digital download pricing, at least the library will remain intact when Sony ditches the Vita Card format in the future.

So no details about PSN pricing of vita games? It would be silly to have same price as retail since memory card price has been jacked up like crazy.

I would be happy with 15~20% discount.

I would be happy if digital prices matched the retail ones, once they get discounted. I've probably got 20 UMDs that I bought for under $10, yet very few are less than that on PSN (unless it's a very rare sale)

Really struggling with whether or not I want to jump in on one at launch. Sitting at about $404.78 with tax if I do, but I am interested in the Wii-U and I'd really like it if Nintendo would release SOME info about the launch before I dive in with a Vita. Not that I think the Vita is a slouch, I just highly doubt I can swing two new platforms this year without causing a few fights.

Maybe go Amazon?

It'd save me $20 but my last 4 preorders with Amazon were all fucking disastrous.
Woah, that sucks. I've ordered a million things from them and rarely had a problem. If there was a problem, their customer support always generously fixed it right away.

That's the thing, I actually do weekly orders with Amazon and they all typically go just fine. But preordering video games? Nope. 3-5 days late, didn't show up at all on one occasion. It was rectified of course but so damn irritating.

Should I purchase at launch? Should I order the first edition? Do I really need 3G? Should I invest that money in a larger memory card? Which are the go-to launch games? Blah, so undecided on all accounts.

Wow, that shocks me since I actually have had a shipment where I didn't get the item and have had amazon ship me out a replacement at no cost

1. You will more than likely not need 3G.
2. Memory card depends on how many digital purchases you intend to make.
3. There are lists with all launch titles, but in my opinion the "go to" titles are:
  • Wipeout 2048
  • Uncharted: Golden Abyss
  • Hot Shots Golf

Only buy the system if there are games you want for it. It's easy to be taken in by the idea of having a neat new toy to play with, but after the buyer's high wears off, you'll have a device that needs good games to see use. If you decide you like the games coming out, want a 3G Vita, a 4GB memory card, Little Deviants, by all means buy a First Edition bundle.

The First Edition bundle is going to be sold everywhere, right? I'll probably just end up getting that, but I want to get it at Walmart so I can use my 10% discount.

Damn, I just did the math, and my Vita purchases are going to run me $466.94. Plus an additional $40 for PSN downloads of two PSP classics.

Although, when I think about it, that's not even close to what I spent on my PS3, and I only got one game with it at the time.

My day one Vita will be:

3G/Wi Fi Vita
16GB Memory Card
Uncharted: Golden Abyss
Rayman Origins (I'm not a fan of Ubisoft's pricing, but I want this game bad, and $40 isn't too bad, considering it launched at $60 on consoles; maybe it'll drop in price by launch?)
PSVita Travel Pouch
Hori Screen protector (I'm not big on screen protectors, but the Hori one looks really good)

I'll grab Super Stardust Delta off of PSN, and Corpse Party and Gladiator Begins for my PSP classics.

That should keep me super busy until the next wave of Vita games hit. I missed out on quite a few awesome PSP games, so I can always grab some of those during dry spells.

I'm not getting the Feb 15th first edition, so I still have almost a month to wait for my Vita to get here, but my excitement levels are reaching critical mass. I've been wanting a new portable device for a long time now, and my smart phone wasn't scratching that itch, and I'm not that big into Nintendo handhelds these days. The Vita is exactly what I'm looking for in a dedicated handheld device.
