Appreciated. Hanamaru kindergarten has the best ED ever.

You are just going for the trifecta, aren't you? First School Days, now Eva, you're going to finish with Arjuna or what?

We've already given you every MARU! in RnL so far. I think you're going to have to learn to cope a little at this point.

You guys would put a bullet in your brain dealing with some of this shit.

What's the deal with EVA?

the last two episodes
are not that mind blowing if you are older than 12.

Personally, I just think it was a well done show in all respects. The characters, mech design, pacing and plot were all top notch.
ending was bleh but we have EoE to remedy that

Riding Bean

Dat car animation fetish. Shame it's been all but lost to the ages.

I gotta admit, I wasn't really feeling this one at first. It struck me as a much inferior Gunsmith Cats with far less enjoyable characters and a bit more gratuitous violence but thankfully it ended up being a fun ride in the end. On the one hand, I wish they would've expanded a bit more on who the hell all these people are or explained Bean's nigh invincibility at least a bit but on the other hand, who cares? Dude is badass and that's pretty much it.

I give it 3 lovingly animated headshots out of 5.

First Squad: The Moment of Truth

Waste of my time. It started out promising but quickly went to shit. At least parts of it were pretty.

Baka and Test Episodes 10-13

Funny and enjoyable, dub was really well done too. Disappointed in myself I didn’t finish this series sooner. Hoping Funimation released Season 2 soon.

Lagrange -The Flower of Rin-ne Episode 3

Looks like the overall plot could be interesting but I’m just not in love with this show like everyone else seems to be. Think I’ll give it a couple more episodes.

Chihayafuru Episodes 5-8

Oh my god, why is this show so good? When I finally get caught up I have no idea what I’m going to do!

Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit Episode 8

Learned a little bit more about Balsa’s back story. Things seem like they’ll start to pick up soon.

Neon Genesis Evangelion 2

Misato in early running for waifu <3

Geez, what the fuck are Evas? Some kind of people robots?

It may have comedic moments but to call Chihayafuru primarily a comedy is a stretch.
Well, hence sports comedy! I dunno, what genre does Mighty Ducks and Angels in the Outfield and those types of mostly serious but also wacky because kids are involved movies fit in? I would put it in that genre.

It'll be number 1 this year. I'll stuff the ballot box to make sure.
It was my #2, so it's not my fault.
(Sorry, Tamayura had to get my sympathy #1)

I would classify Chihayafuru as a drama more than a comedy. It has funny moments, but the show is driven more by the characters and their relationships than by trying to make you laugh (but it is quite effective at that when it tries to).

Why isn't this show in the top ten again? :p

Because it clearly can't compare to such high quality works like Ano Hana and the like.

If you want a yes or no answer to that (don't read if not):
Yes, they basically are.

It does get explained to you though.

Because its rightful place will be in this year's list. Hopefully.
I bet everyone will forget it by the time 2013 rolls around. Haha.

I dunno, I mean, romantic comedies aren't always comedies first. Of course, in my mind, that includes pretty much all the Tom Hanks romcoms.

Best choice.

I have to agree. It has it's elements, but comedy definitely isn't the main intent.

Rasmus Faber was the producer of the opening, so it's more european house

That's fascinating, I'm sure I would be even more fascinated if I knew who the hell Rasmus Faber was.

You guys would put a bullet in your brain dealing with some of this shit.

You don't know what I do in real life, and I'm not planning on telling you. But if you actually get to sit down while dealing with your shit, you have it better than I do.

Don't ruin it for him guys... wondering wtf is going on is essential to the Eva experience

He'll ask whats going on and it is our duty to point and laugh

Neon Genesis Evangelion 3

Shinji mad. I love that the Evas have a straight up knife as a weapon. STAB STAB STAB.

Looking forward to learning what the Angels actually are.

Mirai Nikki 15:

OH GOD MURMUR, WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO WITH THE OP?!?!?!

vadernoooo.jpg

Oh hey, at least they kept Yousei Teikoku for the ED. So that redeems the ED. Why couldn't they get Yousei Teikoku to do both the OP and ED is beyond me. Faylan's first ED was actually just fine but the new OP is a sham and an insult to the first, utterly fantastic OP.

As far as the story goes, from here on out shit is nonstop getting realer and realer, until the finale. And then SHIT GETS FUCKING REAL. There aren't anymore filler episodes with tsundere Minene and Yuno and Yukki's fake wedding. It's just shit getting more real than the shit that just happened over and over again. I hope they saved plenty of budget for the rest of the show.

I was wondering how they would animate the part where
Yuno blocks all the throwing knives with her knife.
It turned out even more hilarious and awesome that I could have hoped. And then they really went all out on
the short fight sequence between Yuno and Ai.
And then, well Minene's back because let's face it, Minene's awesome.

It looks like they are going to get to SPOILER FOR NEXT EPISODE
the showdown in the tower right away
and that shit is going to be so goddamn real.

That's fascinating, I'm sure I would be even more fascinated if I knew who the hell Rasmus Faber was.

Id rather be physically active at work.
You most likely have higher wages too.
I would trade this for manual labor if it meant less bullshit.

Something a little more relevant to this thread than just pointing him to his youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6MP8QM3_PI

He produced and released two (pretty darn good) jazz cover albums of anime songs, and that video is for his upcoming 3rd cover album. That channel, 'platinajazz', has some of the other songs they've recorded for their albums.

For his own stuff though, 'house' is the genre he tends to list first in his range.

Jazz cover of Sobakasu.
Holy shit, this is amazing.

Now and Then, Here and There 4

This is some wider social commentary, isn't it.

Oh, and loved how the protagonist saw fit to ignore Newton's Third Law with that rock.
