Witcher 2 for Xbox 360 'Enhanced Edition', 4+ hours bonus content, out April 17th

A few interesting tidbits I saw:
- The new content is 2 new questlines in the third act, apparently main quests, one of them about (spoiler of The Witcher 2)
Foltest's kids abduction
.
- At the end some kind of video with all the major decisions taken
- No more meditation and drinking animation when you do alchemy and drink potions (IMO I liked that little touch, but like they say in the video after the 83rd time could be a little tiring, I hope they add it like an option, at least in the PC version)

Just make it a skippable animation. I kind of liked the idea that he's drinking these extremely toxic potions that would kill any other man but all Geralt needs to do is wipe the sweat off his brow.

April 17th nice, nice, nice!

And this is the problem when you implement real decisions with real consequences. Not that I'm complaining but it explains why Bioware goes a different route.

This isn't a problem. You get way more insight on secondary characters and their motivations when you play through both paths. A seemingly inconsequential decision you made going through one path suddenly has more gravity when made going through the events of the other path.

GAFfers from France already can pre-order this, Portugal is so close, if only some retailers here would grab one of these editions for me...!

Oh my, this and Tomb Raider might get expensive... I was acting so good, saving money, cleaning my backlog... Argh... =/
You know that you can order at Amazon.fr too? I pre-ordered one copy there but I'm going to cancel when Amazon.co.uk put the Dark Edition up.

Dark Edition is awesome and so cheap. It cost as much as normal edition of 360 game in Poland.

Already preordered:

That would be my last choice but I would if I need it.

Do you have any idea how much it would cost me or Amazon.fr? Do they also have Free delivery for other countries when above "x" amount of money?

Thanks in advance.

Maybe I'll get this. It does seem to have a solid framerate and the graphics are quite nice for the 360. On the other hand, I have Witcher 1 on PC and I didn't like the game much.

Very awesome. Will finally play the Iorveth path when my pc version gets the new contentz.

Yeah, I was about to start my Roach run but looks like I should wait. April is a long time from now. Maybe I'll just do a replay of the superior Iorveth path when the new content is released.

I'm paying 7€ for delivery to my country. I think Amazon dispatchs for free in specific countries which don't have a own Amazon store.

Well, 2 is very different in a lot of ways, particularly in regards to UI and combat.

Oh, so you basically learn to know the people you initially sided with. Well I'm ok with that.

But not too many copies. Don't want CDPR abandoning PC....
Witcher 3 - Xbox exclusive?

They play very differently. Whether or not you enjoyed the original isn't all that important but I would definitely recommend catching up on the story one way or another.

The combat was really the thing I hated the most about the first game. If you say 2 is a good RPG then I'll have to check it out. There's nothing else in April I want so far anyway.

I...wow, that's kind of a 'lol' sentence to me. I mean, CDPR have a great reputation with their PC fans right? No reason that they would abandon that due to finding some success on consoles.

Money talks. It's not like Bioware or Bethesda sold out. Wait a minute.....

How does this port (graphics-wise) compare to say the Crysis 2 PC to console port? I thought they did a pretty bang-up job on the latter considering what they had to work with.

lol why would they show the end of the game?

I haven't looked at any of the media yet. What are you referencing and what should I skip to avoid any spoilers?

They're actually expanding the last act? Talk about listening to your fans.

Doesn't mean they couldn't abandon PC game development if the 360 version outsold the PC version by some obscene ratio.

If the 360 version outsold the PC version by an obscene amount then I'd shake my head at PC gamers and not begrudge CDProjekt. Still though, it's a stupid point to begin with, they won't abandon PC development.

Sure it does. But just from reading about CDPR they've always seemed like a Valve to me, that their games are PC first.

It's just saying "I hope they sell some copies but not too many." seems a bit zany.

Oh, so you basically learn to know the people you initially sided with. Well I'm ok with that.

Yeah, you learn more about the people you side with as well as their circle since you're directly interacting with those characters. If anything Bioware should draw upon this direction of game design more. You build what is essentially 40 hours of game content but have it split up in a meaningful way that significantly rewards the player for multiple playthroughs. For those that don't, they're still given a really impactful gameplay experience with a smaller investment of time (20-30 hours for a single playthrough).

I've managed to control myself and not buy this on PC (...yet, not ruling out double dipping later). I'll be getting the Dark Edition for sure.

I seem to have a tendency to wait for console versions, then play PC versions later if I'm so in love with a game that I simply must have mods and superior graphics.

aaaaannnnnnnnndddddd.......SOLD!

:P ok you guys have to not share any spoilers for those of us that didn't watch the stream, nor play the pc version. Now I just have to find time between now and then to finish up all my mass effect business and play through the first Witcher :D
