Yeah, software seems to be the main issue.

It has no system sellers and won't for a while by the look of things.

I guess in Japan Uncharted just isn't a system seller.

They really should have priced at $29.99 here. Uncharted is a big franchise and could move systems out the door with the right kind of marketing and a smart price point.

Skimmed it and saw "inlcuding Uncharted" and thought it came with the game. My bad, sorry :P

You don't want Uncharted? I thought I knew you. :([/QUOTE]

I do! Just not right away. Im in the "I just played an Uncharted game and dont want to drop 50 bucks on another one" camp.

Hot Shots Golf, maybe Wipeout, Super Stardust, and Escape Plan will be enough for me for now.

Do we know for sure that this all wont be a part of the first edition bundle as well since that is also the 3G model? Sorry if I missed it!

We just get the free AT&T Datapass and the PSN game. The memory card stays at 4GB.

From Sony PS.Blog

"With only 27 days until the launch of PlayStation Vita, we are excited to announce two PS Vita 3G/WiFi bundles. If you were one of the lucky consumers to pre order the PS Vita First Edition Bundle, in addition to the PS Vita 3G/Wi-Fi hardware, a limited edition case, a 4GB PS Vita Memory Card and Little Deviants game, we will now be including an AT&T DataConnect Session Pass good for one free 250MB session, and a PlayStation Network game – both provided upon 3G activation. And the best part, you still get it a week before the official launch date."

Excellent. I had already changed my pre-order at Gamestop once, from the Wifi to the First edition, and didn't really want to go back again. I plan to get my games from retail mostly, so 4GB should be fine for me.

Awesome, I have the first edition pre-ordered and that sounds like exactly what I would want. So hyped!

So it is Little Deviants + Vita Case vs more 4GB card when deciding for the First Edition vs 3G Launch bundles.

In my case, I still need on Feb 15th, so I will stick to the First Edition.

What's the easiest way to change my amazon order? Do I have to cancel it? Also, I'm paying a huge portion of it with gift cards. Do I need to do anything special about that?

I was planning on getting the 8GB card anyways. I'm going to pre-order just in case, but I really need to know what the game is. If it's WipEout 2048, I'll pass.

Change from one Vita sku to another? You'll have to cancel the one you don't want and order the new one.

If you're just changing the shipping speed or paying your pre-order off, you can do that through your Order History/View Open Orders page in your Amazon account.

It's probably going to be a choice between Stardust, Escape Plan and MotorStorm. It's not going to be a full $30-$50 title.

Usually I just cancel the order, and re-order again. Your gift card balance should be adjusted again for the next purchase.

Have the 1st Edition reserved at GS. Excited to get extra stuff as well. I wonder what PSN game will come with it. Or can we choose?

Sounds good to me. I was planning on getting Super Stardust Delta anyways.

Idiot's Guide to Canceling Amazon.com Orders:
1. Go to Amazon.com
2. Hover over "Your Account" and click on "Your Orders".
3. Select "Open Orders" in the top left.
4. Navigate to the item you wish to cancel (you may need to change the Date to "Orders placed in the last 6 months" in the top right).
5. Select "Cancel Items".
6. Check the items in the order you wish to cancel, give a reason for the cancelation.
7. Confirm

Then just make the new order.

good for Sony :) I was planning on upgrading my 4GB from the First Edition bundle to a 32GB anyways so I won't be switching bundles now

I'm sorry if this has already been asked and answered but is this new bundle exclusive to Amazon or can I switch my current GameStop WIFI Pre-order to this $299 3G bundle?

Yep, Gamestop's offering it as well, you shouldn't have an issue switching over (and probably all most retailers carrying the 3G unit).

I don't think 8GB will be enough down the road...

I'll probably just buy the 16GB and call it good for a year or two. BUT, I still think this thing is going to drop $50-$100 in the first couple of months. Especially if the US does Japan numbers, or worse...

It used to be that you were paying $20 for a 4GB card, $30 for Little Deviants and getting the case for free plus getting the system a week early when you bought the First Edition bundle.

But now, after all the new bundle package changes, you're paying $30 for Little Deviants and $30 for the case, and not saving any money. The only benefit is getting it a week early. In fact you're probably overpaying since I doubt the case is worth $30.

Minus $20 for the 4GB card.

You can't look at it that way. A 3G Vita + 8GB card is $299. If you take the difference of a 4GB and 8GB card, that's $10. Thus the real difference in value between the 3G and the First Edition bundle is a $60 difference. You are paying $30 for Little Deviants and $30 for the case.

Oh right. 8gb card for essentially zilch in the new 3G bundle, ouch. thems the breaks. Sorry, First Edition people.

What about the 4gb memory card?
The non-first edition 3G bundle includes an 8GB card, which is worth $30 (as opposed to $20 for the 4GB), so it's a $10 greater value. Thus the first edition is costing you $60 more, for essentially a case and little deviants (and a week early access).

If i have no plans to use the 3G, the real question is whether or not that extra $20 will be a worthwhile investment down the line or for resale value...

I'm sticking with my first edition bundle. I'm mainly excited enough to want it that week early, and I still think the inclusion of Little Deviants and that case are a good deal. I really don't foresee me needing anything beyond the 4gb anytime soon, and once I finally do upgrade to a bigger one, I'll easily be able to afford the 16gb or 32gb.

The launch bundle basically gets you a free 8gb card, but the lack of the other items, and the week long wait don't really compel me to change my preorder.

The price has been updated on the system at Morrisons to £225. Bare in mind though that they are usually very competitive with the first shipment they get, to keep ahead of the other supermarkets. I can see it getting to about £210 by launch time. I'll keep checking to see.

With my staff discount, that gets it sub £200 for me!

Also, Uncharted is £34 which is better than Amazon is it not?

You can buy Little Deviants and a case on your own. The only thing you gain is getting it a week early. In fact you're overpaying for the case and getting 4GB less.

We are happy to announce today that we will be creating an extremely limited-edition PlayStation Vita 3G/Wi-Fi bundle designed to reward those who brave the cold to stand in line on February 22nd (or even those who come in the few days that follow). In addition to the PS Vita hardware, we will be including an 8GB PS Vita Memory Card, an AT&T DataConnect Pass and a PlayStation Network game all for the usual MSRP of $299. This SKU is part of a promotional offer and will sell out immediately so we strongly recommend that you purchase your PS Vita early to make sure you get the extra value!

Sounds to me like the First Edition bundle is getting the free PSN game as well.

I agree with this, I already put my preorder on the games I want so I'll just get a 16 GB card in addition to my 4gb which I might end up selling but a week early beats the $55 savings especially since we're getting the free month 3g promotion also.

Usually I just cancel the order, and re-order again. Your gift card balance should be adjusted again for the next purchase.

I just switched from the Wifi to the 3g launch bundle on Amazon and just canceled my old order and made a new one. I've had nothing but trouble in the past trying to apply gift cards to an existing order.

Sounds fine to me then.
The bundle was never really saving money, it's pretty much early access.
Reviews for Little Deviants swayed me so I decided to go for it.

250 MB is so low, i can burn through that in a couple days.

Plus we get 2 games, Little Deviants and w/e other game they give away with the promotion and one week early is where it's at, I kinda wished it was 2 weeks early though

Yes it is better than Amazon. Some of us however locked in a pre order at £28 :D

And Amazon are doing the WiFi for £220 but that doesn't include the pre order pack.

What I kind of want is for Tesco to put it up on their site as I have about £250 of their vouchers sitting in my desk. No sign yet. Filing that I'll get a Transformer Prime with them if they ever stock that.

Is the US version sim locked, and have they announced a UMD trade-in plan? I stopped paying attention, but the new 3G pack has piqued my interest. Thanks.

Except doesn't Sony want to sell those on day 1? I don't think Sony would give those away for free. I'm betting it's a PlayStation Minis title.

No Minis cost $10. The box says $55 dollar value. The memory card is $30. A month of service is $15. That leaves $10 for the game.
