I too hope Junichi gets his prenup before he marries each girl. Although I'm not even sure if they have those in Japan.

I don't really understand what you're saying, but Fate/Zero started streaming the very second the Japanese TV broadcast ended. For Black Rock Shooter there is going to be a delay of a day.
I know, I meant to say simultaneously for all the subtitled streams within that channel, I was not referring to TV broadcasts. And I see you can still change the preferred language, seeing that relation in the news article between languages and regions made me think at first on some kind of restriction implemented...
From what I saw, Fate/Zero Spanish subtitles were a bit... awkward.

Guilty Crown Episode 14 Spoilers!!!

4.
Inori killing those 3 students... really? Sure, they were probably creepy "rapist opportunists", but they were fucking kids that believed they could get out if they just found the Undertakers. Why kill them? A beating would've sufficed, but there is no way they are alive after that bloody scene. I just don't get her character. There is no way those kids can lay around dead in those stairs and not starting up a shitstorm when they get found. I'm guessing the writers will "forget about them". Hopefully, if they are dead, it's actually for plot development (her getting more like a crazy killer).

I don't think
they're necessarily dead. It could be that she beat them to a bloody pulp. If she did in fact kill them, it might be a deeper issue that could be brought to the surface later (but then again, I might be given them too much credit...)

Anyway,

Guilty Lord Of The Crown Flies 14

Can't wait to see how they rush/trainwreck this arc!

Shu got even more epic wow. Stunning episode already for the second half. Love the direction his character has gone.
Darly should defect already, someway. Anyway, as president he is one step closer to leading Undertakers. I cant wait to see how ingenious the voids get available to him at the school.
. They made the school environment quite enjoyable with everyones interactions, Yahiro definitely became quite a good character, and everyone else.

Yeah seriously, Shu is taking major levels in badass. Even if it takes the entire show, I will be ecstatic if he turns into Simon.

I'mmmmm HOOOOOOOOMMMMEEEEE!!!!!!!

Time for CCS.
ITS HNNNNG TIME.

Also, people are sending me PM's pleading for me not to watch Guilty Crown. I appreciate your concerns but I am very strong. I will defeat it. I am not a penguin to be trifled with.

It really isn't a bad show. I can't comprehend people actually PMing someone to not watch it even if they aren't a fan. This isn't like Eiken or Yami or something. Some people clearly like it.

-set in highschool
-emo main lead
-yoai incounter with tons of yoai shots( there also some in the pv)
-token girl to get in the way of yoai love

-from pv crying in the rain

Aside from the HS setting, that list fits Samurai Champloo. Don't go burning shrines just yet, lol.

If you'll excuse the caps - YAOI!!!!! IT'S SPELT YAOI!!!!

Also...
Kaoru, the "emo" one, falls in love with Ritsuko. Ritsuko is in love with Sentarou, the big one in the stripey shirt. Yes, they'll probably play up the slash - but this is a josei manga, it's to be expected.

...I am so mad I just read this.

Oh! Edo Rocket 26:
Glorious. I'm so glad I got to see this unique experience. The finale managed to give a good amount of closure while also going in some pretty unexpected directions. I have to say that I really didn't expect it to end that way, but it felt completely in line with the series up to that point. Just the right mix of comedy and serious character moments, and a good use of the setting, too.

Thermae Romae 3/4

What a fun show.

They're not trying very hard (it's Gonzo, after all), but it's coasting for me on the quality of the premise. That can count for a lot. I like seeing Lucius in Japan.

I'm rooting for it the way I rooted for Ben-to, and while Ben-to is the better show, this is delivering what it promised, so I'm glad I decided to watch it.

Guilty Crown Episode 14 Spoilers!!!
Better than most episodes, but still horribly filled with stupid stuff.

1. Where are the teachers? Why are there only students in a school environment?

2. Wow, convenient power-level reader just lying around.

3. Daryl... what, are we supposed to side with him now? He's still a psychopath murderer that killed a family in episode 2. I want him dead.

Hopefully, if they are dead, it's actually for plot development (her getting more like a crazy killer).

5. The show's atmosphere. I find it very hard to watch this show just because of the bi-polarism. At the beginning we see people getting horribly killed, then suddenly it's a funny moment with Tsugumi, then Inori killing those dudes, then back again. It is simply hard to actually take this show seriously.

6. Students planning to kill the student president? Really? That doesn't make sense, why would they want to kill her just because she can't lead? Stupid writing...

7. Gai being 17 years old (not related to this episode but more in general). How can a leader for a revolution be only 17 years old? Doesn't make any sense at all for his experience and how he can get all those people to back him up when he's just 17.

Anyways, even with this stuff, I'm glad Shu finally manned the fuck up and stopped being a whiny bitch. I also found the whole "powerranking" stuff in the end to be interesting. Seems it really is starting to become the "guilty crown".

RE: Inori

The 'wedding ceremony' probably corrupted her or afflicted her with whatever made Mana go crazy.
Calling it now.

edit:
The kids are so stupid.
Shuu and company openly demolished a mech and armed mercenaries, yet they think they'll get shit done with only a handgun? The would be rapists seem to be inserted into the episode to remind us of wheelchair moe, and how dark the series wants to be.

Episode didnt need that to be dark to be honest, since it openly massacred people yet again, and one knows its dark when even Daryl feels bad about it. I imagine handgun guy may have a role in the future, since it seemed he wanted to be president.

Sorry, I had to sleep after episode 40. Work is fucking exhausting. Not physically, but mentally so.

Anyway so this was kind of a two parter...

CCS 41

Dat
gender switching School Play. Sakura is the Prince and Syaoran is princess! Embarrassment ensues!
.
I bet this wasn't shown on Cardcaptors.
The sand Clow Card
represents the Puritan opposition to the show.
Sakura has been
giving Clow Cards to Syaoran.
Yay for character development!

CCS 42

Sakura's outfit in this episode is hilarious and adorable.
During
the Sleeping Beauty Play
Sakura and
Syaoran are about to do "the kiss" and Clow Card Darkness
ruins the fun.
Suddenly, another wild Clow Card appears!
Sakura has had the light card inside her heart the whole time and it draws out the Darkness card.
Kero-Chan mentions
Yue
again. Who the fuck is that?!

Monkey Punch would be (is) proud of it! Specially compared to the "later" part. And Pycal should haunt you for your opinion on the second episode...

I certainly know that many fans of the 'harder, grittier' Lupin weren't impressed by Miyazaki's portrayal of him, and of course Cagliostro wasn't a success when it originally aired in theatres.

Patience, you will know in due time and it will explain certain things from before.

I think you have to accept that no-one was trying to kill it off, it was essentially committing suicide by becoming like every other block of anime programming.

I think it is just trying to survive.
The only way to do that IS to become like every other block of anime programming.

Are you preparing to don a monocle, cajunator?
I dont care who is making it. It could be made by some terrible director and I would still enjoy it.
I don't even know who is directing most of the anime I watch and I don't care. It is about the HNNNG. And maybe the story too.
In this case I'm just saying that Watanabe and Kanno doesn't mean that a great show is a given. Just tempering people's expectations I suppose.

In all seriousness, unlike Watanabe's other projects, I just can't picture this being a big success internationally.

R.I.P Geneon USA. Nobody's around to license it a year beforehand.

Why are you guys acting like Watanabe making a show about bros and their relationship is anything new?

This. Broship has always been Watanabe's central theme. To have an issue with the aesthetic is a valid concern, but I have the feeling, from that trailer alone, that much of it is going to be as badass as either Bebop or Champloo.

Anyway HOLY SHIT anime might be good again?!

I don't expect to see any major changes in the industry as a whole, there's just a new group that's actually producing the kind of thing thing I personally want to see. Still, there's been good titles released every year, despite numerous claims to the contrary.

It's probably not that hard to watch Samurai Champloo through yaoi goggles, I have no inclination to test this, though.

Even if Apollon has bromance, I at least expect it to be classy.

Yeah, but Western audiences also want the cool action and fight scenes and all that stuff as well as the very stylish direction. This seems inherently more niche than his other projects. It's (unsurprisingly) much closer to Baby Blue.

Cardcaptor - 38

The lock card needed a key to open it, why didn't I think of this!?

Cardcaptor - 39

This episode Sakura has a fever, and all I could think of is Tomoyo crying in a corner somewhere because she didn't play nurse Sakura back to health.

The writing was definitely on the wall. I imagine, and I don't have to imagine hard as he's even hinted at this in past interviews, the whole reason he's doing an adaptation vs an original work this time around is the general dearth of funding for classy/stylized, non-otaku works without the already established audience of interested manga readers. It's the one reason I mentioned Geneon, as they're not around to dampen the blow to the wallet this time around.

Episode 38 has the most adorable song ever.

You have almost caught up to me!
(You will probably pass me soon cause Im going to go out and get food)

Hold on, guys, I just had a "whoa" moment.

Mappa is Italian for map. Maruyama's new studio is called MAPPA.

Chizu is Japanese for map. Hosoda's new studio is called Studio Chizu.

Whoa.

In all seriousness, unlike Watanabe's other projects, I just can't picture this being a big success internationally.

Watanabe's past projects have been hits because they've had Western appeal in mind more than almost any other anime ever. Outside the element of jazz, which is pretty niche today even in the country of its birth, Apollon has none of that. Hence the reception is relatively muted for being "the next project from the Cowboy Bebop guy".

That seems like the opposite of the kind of character design that I usually associate him with, but my aversion to the freakish sinewy elongated women that I've seen has kept me from paying much attention to the rest of his art.
How do you feel about really shiny, greasy women? And horsemen milking them? Because that's the kind of classy thing Shirow likes.
Depends on the country too.

Morality is universal!

Well, yes, that's exactly what I meant, except that you've used far more words than I. Show off!

Still, I don't think Watanabe's other projects were hits simply because they were designed to appeal to the West - lots of other shows have gone that route before and failed miserably. Of course, those titles all lacked Watanabe's great sense of style.

It is, but laws are different too.
Some places, the legal age is as low as 13 or 14.
Morality/ethics do come into play there but you can legally do what you want if you so choose.

Nobody's going to fund a western-centric show.

Nitorin is pretty badass,
making moves on Anna at the end, sheeeeit.
This show was pretty sweet, the end just left me wanting more. So sad it's over.
Saorin needs more love ;_;

Why are they so shiny? I feel the art guy for that show has a lot of explaining to do.

Wow, so together they're plotting the new course for anime? Putting anime back on the map?

What the fuck is this? Looks like some yoai high school boys emo drama with them crying in the rain and playing music instruments, don't tell me this the anime Watanabe is working on, I celebrated before clicking the link :(

Awesome, isn't it?

Nobody's going to fund a western-centric show.

Well, I dunno about that. One of the themes for Apollon's setting is that it's a Japanese coastal town in the 60s which is heavily influenced by American culture. It's definitely going to be a much more accessible concept internationally, compared to something like K-On.

Edit: If I see "yoai" one more time, I'm going to lose it.

-set in highschool
-emo main lead

[...]what more do i need to know?, it already pretty much lost me at highschool.

The chance of it not taking place in highschool is very slim.
40 page first chapter takes place in highschool, in the genre title it says highschool, slice of life and the main characters only connection is that there all classmates, chances are it's going to take place in highschool, my bets are there going to enter the music club in school together.
You know, there's nothing inherently wrong with highschool as a setting, right? I mean, lots of lazy, poorly made anime are set in highschool, but they aren't poorly made and lazy shows because higschool is the setting.

I was revisiting the opening to see it and was stuck on just this cap of it, I can make out four of them but who are the others? I got
gourmet hunter proctors, and the dude that played ball with them on the ship
