Nope all of that was from the official episode.

Their budget seemed to have taken a nose dive that week
nope, it was one of the higher budget episode since the director of that episode is an extremely respected animator in japan, the same guy who directed Sasuke vs Orochimaru and the naruto vs sasuke(episode 133) episodes.I personally loved that episode.

What's his name?

edit: I'm guessing he is Atsushi Wakabayashi?

Yep. The guy's only done, what 4 episodes in the entire show? (Orochimaru/Sasuke, Hokage/Orochimaru, Sasuke/Naruto, Naruto/Pain) The only other guy who's as respected as he for the series is Hirofumi Suzuki (whom Kishi himself stated he steered his character designs in the manga to match the style he did for the anime).

I think the biggest problem with his Naruto/Pain ep was that he tapped Shingo Yamashita as the animator for the first half of the episode (where all those gifs are) and he's a bizarre animator who had never worked on Naruto before IIRC and his style is weird (fluid, but no detail). I think he should have tapped Hiroyuki Yamashita instead as he was more experienced with the series and his animation is fluid, but still remains detailed (but I'm guessing he was busy doing the stupid yearly movie along with several of the other good animators at the time).

I'm hurting on the inside. They botched my favorite fight in Naruto. The first half was poorly animated, the 2nd half was a joke.

EDIT: I'm gooood.
Just because you can't handle stylized animation doesn't make it "poorly animated" or "botched."

sonic cd run animation, wonky face shit, and wb sight gags? is this another joke series thing?
is this another joke post thing

Clearly being actually animated for once means their budget must've taken a nose dive. Wait what?

Naruto

FFFUUuuuuuuuuuuuuu shit is getting real. Finally 9 tails mode, and totally different 9tails mode. Didn't expect this mode at all. he looks super badass aswell. Plus it's neat how he has his sagemode clone for enhanced sensing.

I don't even know how saskue is gonna manage to challenge him now. Ever since sage mode, naruto has had equal or greater strength than saskue. The only way i can see it working is if Saskue gets the ability to control the fox, so naruto can't use 9tails mode.

he's responsible for bullet naruto? now it makes sense.

i think he's more dissapointed since that style rarely happens and it appeared in the fight he was looking forward to.

Looks like they didn't have much to work with :p

I dont think it will be that easy. Naruto's new mode is limited to five minutes. Sasuke's eyes have no con associated with them now. He could still warp reality, and not to mention gain access to Rinnegan. Who knows what else has awakened since he recovered.

Gambling Emperor Zero vol 6-8 END

That ending. That motherfucking ending. Zaizen is one dick head. How the fuck is that thing supposed to help you? You want talented people, not people that are lucky cause they survive that last game.

The quiz game host was one true asshole. He truly pissed me off. The guy kept changing up the rules every chapter. Fuck him.

Anyway, awesome manga. Great puzzles, great gambles, amazing tension, and it flows so well. Lots of variety in the games and I never felt any of them dragged on for a long time. I don't know if I will start reading part 2 now. I just can't handle the long wait between each chapter.

It's only 5 minutes now because Naruto have very little experience with accessing the Kyuubi's full power, the amount of time he can use that mode can only go up. Sage Mode Naruto shouldn't have a time limit anymore also, since the reason Naruto can't fuse with the elder frog at first is because Kurama wouldn't allow them to.

He doesn't need the frogs at all for unlimited sage mode as he is now. Kurama could the one meditating for that chunk of the equation.

He's also now immune to genjutsu.

Wolf Guy 102

Wtf am I reading.
The real question that should have been asked (by the mangaka) is

Wtf am I writing?

The manga thankfully came to an end. What an abysmal abortion of something that could have been awesome ruined by a demented guy who clearly fetishes rape and just plain hates women (for all the crap some might give to Kishi not treating his female characters right, compared to this guy, it's loving adoration). Maybe someone sane will try and write a cool werewolf manga one day.

Spoilers for those that even care
Inugami finally kills Haguro, is heavily injured in the process and is taken away from teacher. She thinks he dies and is about to commit suicide but senses that he's still alive and then she and the reporter wolf guy travel to Alaska, and that's where it ends (from my skimming of the raws and translated stuff)

How is he immune to genjutsu? If Madara was able to control the fox at one point in time, via something with Sharingan, then I dont think there is any immunity there.

I thought that particular rule could be considered thrown out of the window in the Naruto vs Sasuke matchup. This is considering that the Uchiha have a specific relationship/dominion over the Kyuubi in the first place. Sasuke didn't have any particular relationship through blood with the 8-tails

I don't think so honestly; IIRC when the Uchihas first took over Kyuubi/Kurama, he was just out and about and not inside of a Jinchuuriki, so the "target" for the genjutsu was Kurama. And in Kushina's case when Madara brought out the Kyuubi it wasn't the same thing as controlling it, it was just yanking it out of her body like what happened to Gaara. In the case of Jinchuuriki, there's two "targets", the host and and Bijuu, so it only gets one of them and the other snaps them out of it. It should be the same practice no matter which Jinchuuriki it is as long as they have the "perfect sync" like Bee and Naruto (which most of them didn't have).

Nope, you will not get me on this.
First of all, the first half of the fight did have poor ART (my bad), that was a fact. There's a picture of Sage Mode Naruto from the anime grabbing the Rhino summon, and its compared to the manga version. The difference is staggering. The animation is way too over the top as well, too much is spent on unnecessary and unfaithful additions.

The 2nd half of a fight was a joke. How the heck was that faithful to the original source material? There's a difference between being "over the top, but still respecting the source material" and "doing whatever the fuck you want." Naruto vs Sasuke & Naruto vs Orochimaru were leagues better than this. And you have the gall to suggest i can't handle stylized animation? Really?

Want an example of good animation & art? See the Marineford arc in One Piece.

you are confusing terms, animation is not the same as art/art direction. the animation of the episode was smooth as fucking butter, the art is what you don't like. Also, you don't like the direction. The actual animation was awesome though.

Right my bad, I made sure to edit my post accordingly. Point still stands. I actually disliked the animation though I will admit it was good in terms of fluidity... its just a case of too much is a bad thing. What was the point of all that water... water that never even appeared in the manga. Pein's face contorting like that...

There's also random bits like Pein tanking hits he never would have been able to tank in the manga (huge rocks, chakra beams) and insane feats (Shinra Tensei spam) so yeah, all in all it was a bad experience for me.

Wait, the Marineford arc had good animation?

Yes. It was over the top, but it was faithful to the original manga. There wasn't any nonsense where Akainu contorted his face to nigh unrecognisable levels.

I'm about 30 chapters or something behind on TWGOK. I'm not sure why I stopped. But I can't wait to catch up...whenever I find time to. Same on Beelzebub.

I believe the key animator for the water focused scenes was Norio matsumoto who often works with the director of that episode, he just fucking loves water lol. Like in part one of the anime where Naruto and Sasuke fight, the skating on water bits were him too. Also, in Shippuden episode 85 , the bit with Kakashi and Kakuzu cqc, he just likes working with water I guess.

But that's my point. Usually, the target of a Genjutsu is the host. the beast cannot be targeted when it is inside of the host, right? In the Uchiha case, they can directly target the Beast, and if Sasuke can yank or alter that directly, will Naruto be able to do something about it? I don't know, but I'm just bringing up that it won't be as simple as "Two hosts, genjutsu won't work" because Kishimoto did that scene with Sasuke showing up in Naruto's consciousness and targeting the Kyuubi for a reason. It's no coincidence that the Kyuubi said "You have the same sinister chakra as Madara" to Sasuke.

Say what? I had this huge post planned out for my 300th post (I assumed that would make me a full time member)

False alarm :(

EDIT: I blame Survivor for his flagrant lies.

Higanjima vol 6

Atsushi vs Miyabi was awesome. Dude is pretty badass.

When everyone got to the ship, I'm just thinking "there's no way they'll escape the island so soon. We still got more than 25 volumes left." Of course I was right, but that didn't make it suck any less. Crazy hope spot.

That doesn't seem to be genjutsu so it's moot.

I suspect that the fox tying himself to Naruto may disrupt that random Uchiha bond though.

The animation in the marineford arc was not good overall, there were scenes in the arc that were good/great. But 90% of the arc was bad in terms of animation quality. The video you linked to does a great job of pretty much showing most of the scenes with good animation from the marineford arc. The thing is however, the video isn't even the length of a single one piece episode.

And when I say animation quality, I'm talking about number of frames and the detail in those frames. I'm often surprised to hear that some people think the average episodes of series such as naruto/one piece/bleach has good animation, because they really don't.

STILL.

Even without Marinefords "hiccups" its still leagues above the Pein invasion arc for Naruto.

It's true, but to be fair...those series have 300+ episodes. It would be hard to have the stellar animation in every (canon) episode that you find in the great 24-episode series. But all three of those have really special episodes where you can tell that the A+ animation team was hired for it. But those eps are few and far between for the series as a whole.

But then again, I'd think that OP/Naruto/Bleach bring in enough money as brand names that they should be able to pay for top notch animators all the time, but whatever.

No, sorry. It does not have poor art. Is the art different? Yes. More stylized than usual? Yes. Poor? No.

It's a great looking episode featuring work from extremely talented animators. There is no real reason to call it bad and insult their work. Silly video too. I know what good animation is.
