Ace Attorney 5 (Platform Unknown), Ace Attorney 123HD (iOS) announced

It'll be 3DS with an iOS port for cheap in a couple of years when the money has already been made on the 3DS one. Or when there's a 3D iPhone.

Great news, if the price is reasonable, I'll snag the 1-3 re-release. Haven't played them in a very long time and skipped on AA1 by itself for iOS.

Hoping AA5 is on 3DS.

After all the flack they got for ignoring AAI2, my guess is that Capcom USA will localize this.

Looking forward to more information.

I'm sure 3DS is a lock for launch, and Vita has a good chance too. Later down the road I bet Capcom will release for iOS. They can't charge as much for it on iOS, so I don't think it makes as much sense to put it on the App Store at the same time the retail version goes on sale.

Awesome news! I hope the PAL release isn't borked, the AA DS games were all kinds of messed up here, in terms of release schedule.

Yep, 3DS/Vita versions on day one and iOS version somewhere down the road seems like the most obvious scenario.

I have an Android phone, but I don't want to play any of the first 3 using that. Eck.

Ace Attorney 123HD announced for JPN and yet we don't even have a Ghost Trick announcement for N.A. No justice!
Are you talking about a Ghost Trick followup or port to phones? Otherwise, your post confuses me.

Nice! I just finished AA1 on iOS. Fantastic game couldn't put it down until I finished, can't wait to dive into 2 & 3 in HD!

I dunno about them anti-whatever peoples but I only used the dpad+buttons for all the games except for the few forced touched screen uses in AA1 & 4. Using the stylus only woulda made the games extremely slow. And holding a DS with one hand for long periods of time hurts!

Holding a DS with two hands and using the buttons gives me terrible hand cramps actually. It's far more comfortable for me to hold it with one hand and use a stylus.

I have huge hands, though.

The AA 1-3 HD if anything shows the problem with the character designs. The character designs work really well in a GBA/DS environment of only using 16 colours (sometimes its really clever how they re-use a colour) but trying to put them elsewhere just leads to a mess. Most HD versions suffer the same fate.

What's wrong with Godot's fist. Somebody is not really familiar with PS' cut out tools?
I'm pleased I'm not the only one who noticed.

The mug is not there for some reason. Perhaps it was made separately and they forgot to add it to the sprite before taking the screenshot.
I guess that explains it as the messed up fist edge and white pixels were not ever going to be seen.

I imagine AA5 will have Phoenix, Apollo and a newbie joining them on epic lawyer adventures. As long as Phoenix and Edgeworth are in, I'm sold.

No silhouette on the logo. Capcom is going to troll us very hard with this shit. It almost confirms it is not Phoenix(which isnt too surprising).

Yay! I hope they localize both of these and AAI2 as well.

As much as I would like to play as Phoenix once again, I really hope they continue with Apollo as the main character. If it ends up that you play as both Phoenix and Apollo I'm fine with that.

Phoenix for the investigation tidbits, Apollo for the courtroom scenes.

Also I hope they make the investigation sequences like in the Edgeworth series.

Hopefully the first case is Apollo's death.

You're terrible! >_<

I have huge hands, though.

Didn't think about different hand sizes/strengths. It may be more comfortable for some people but with long sessions of the stylus-only Kirby Mass Attack fresh in memory going the one-handed route is considerably less comfortable for me! The wrist & finger pains I had are proof of that. However I'd still question the speed & precision of playing AA games with just the stylus vs buttons. Selecting something then moving the stylus back to the dialogue box is undoubtedly inherently slower than always having a finger on the A or B buttons ready to move onto the next bit of text among other things.

i want a female lead with a male sidekick.

That'd be neat but I want at least one more game with Apollo as the lead first. He's to cute to shove outta the picture so soon!

Oh man, I am excite. Would love Vita & 3DS versions each with unique content. But alas, this is Capcom.
Simply put, I wouldn't ask for a 3DS version of Patapon, Loco Roco etc.

Ace Attorney is Ace Attorney, from GBA to DS and let's leave it at that, i only want it on 3DS; then if someone wants to play the first games with Backbone-ish ugly fake HD graphics there's always 123 HD.

Consoles are good for exclusives; at least this is what i think...

Anyways... HYPE!!!!
Please, Takumi, be there.
[And we still don't have Investigations 2.]

While it doesn't make sense really it would perfectly explain why they've announced the game but not announced a platform. Wii U games are supposed to under NDA until E3.

Putting the Court Record on the tablet would actually work really well, but I don't think AA should leave handhelds. It works too well as a portable experience, I don't want to tether myself to a console for the whole game.

reading that some people only played the first game makes me sad. the rest were excellent. grab the DS ones.

i've given up hope of English versions for the iOS HD versions. they never bothered to even localize Ghost Trick for iOS even tho that's done.

Still haven't played the 3rd one. Might keep an eye out for a second hand DS copy. Like to play it on the go so Wii version isn't really an option for me.
