Witcher 2 for Xbox 360 'Enhanced Edition', 4+ hours bonus content, out April 17th

It's just a witcher bomb.
Obviously exaggerated like TW1 intro cinematic signs.

I figured that much but why doesn't Letho use it again
to save himself
in the very least and why was it never mentioned in game. Just seems a little too retconish for me, but I guess it can fit in TW universe. TW1 intro was a sexy display of potions that were at least available in game.

My problem is it seems stupid as all hell. Letho has this amazing freeze an entire ship weapon and it's never been mentioned in game? You could make an entire game about a doomsday weapon like that.

Well it's only a bomb/potion and going after what we've seen in the first witcher game the required stuff is probably very hard to obtain (as in some special ingredient from a monster or such) and because of that never mentioned again. And there are already alot of other powerful spells, potions and monsters in this universe (many of which neither we nor the characters in the game have heard of) so it might not stand out as much.

But this is just speculation from what I've seen in the two games (might be more info on things like this in the books).

The explanation of that event in game doesn't quite mesh with the cinematic, if I'm remembering correctly. They don't necessarily contradict each other but that definitely wasn't how I pictured it. I don't have a problem with it though. The cinematic is awesome and it doesn't really effect anything, ultimately.

if you have to justify it in your mind (and you don't, tw1 intro featured ridiculously powerful signs), I like going with it was made from super rare ingredients.

Oh 99? Thought it was 79, I'll just get the regular edition, can't wait for this.

it's a mistake most likely. should be 70.

edit: wtf, why 99?

also lol

Avatars are horrible, but I must admit that I would totally buy those if I had a living Xbox 360. The drowner is pretty dope.

I can't believe I will double dip on the Dark Edition. I already have the shitty Geralt statue at home and now I will have a shitty medallion to hang around it's neck.

I still love you CDProject

Have CD Projekt mentioned anything about save importing on the 360 version of the game? I hear that The Witcher 2 did save game imports particularly well. As in better than Mass Effect and Dragon Age, and it makes me sad that I'm switching to a new platform as this seems it will be unlikely to let me do anything of the sort. And even if I could, my old Witcher save was lost in a hard drive reformat that I forgot to back it up during. But I was reminded of the Mass Effect 2 release on PS3, where they released an interactive motion comic that covered the events of the first game to both catch up newcomers (seeing as the original game was not released on that platform) and let players make the key decisions of Mass Effect, so as to import those decisions through a generated save file into the new game. Because The Witcher is a very similar situation on the 360, where the first game was never released, and it allows for imports of save games that may include very specific key decisions, I was hoping with all the hope my dark little heart could muster that CD Projekt would include some sort of similar comic/movie/minigame/etc to let players both accustom themselves with the universe and backstory, and make those key decisions.

So I was simply hoping there was some measure of talk about this on the devs part, because it would be super great if I could basically pick up where I left off, and not have to start at a developer-designated point in my particular Geralt's history. I of course will take what I can get, and won't consider it a huge deal if I must start the game in the manner that they deem appropriate, but it would simply be very nice to have that option. Not just for myself, but for new players as well.

Save importing gives you some loot, and throws out a few character references and dialogue swaps. There's nothing significant or noteworthy about it at all. In fact, due to the structure of The Witcher 2's story, it will ignore some decisions you made simply because they're not considered canon. Picked Shani over Triss? Sorry, Shani doesn't exist anymore. You're with Triss.

yeah only little things are carried over. Thaler sends a package , princess lives/dies so far those are only references beside soma cash and armor. Are there any other ?

Witcher 1 and 2 spoiler.

I'm fairly sure Sigfreid shows up as the head of the Order of the Flaming Rose in the last chapter if you sided with him at the end of the first game.

This one is pretty noteworthy, but it's still only a cameo. I think he showed up even though I was neutral

This is insane. I had a backlog I wanted to attack this spring, but it's not happening. First, Skyrim puts me behind in the fall. A month or two of gaming solely with that title. Then Kingdoms of Amalur which I've been playing for 65 hourish and not close to being done. Next month Witcher 2 is coming out, a series I have always wanted to play but haven't been able to since I don't have a good PC. I didn't even know this game was releasing next month until recently.

I absolutely love it, but it means I don't play many other games for long periods of time. That's fine though, as I really love these huge RPGs. If I was a college kid or high school I wouldn't have as much of a problem, but I still somehow manage to put 20 hours into a game each week even with a full time job and kids. I make it work. ;)

Xbox-only folks are in for a real treat. Easily one of the best RPGs ever made, and its story is second-to-none. My favorite game of 2011.

Held off buying the 2nd since, I still need to finish the first. The combat is so boring though. :| Is the combat in the 2nd better?

It's real-time, very similar to the combat in Arkham Asylum - you have your basic 'fast' and 'heavy' attacks that fit into context sensitive animations with a range of 5(?) spells. It's defiantly more enjoyable.
