Yeah there are a few above that level actually.

Tical, Supreme Clientele, OB4CL and even Fishscale are better. Oh and this girl band sucks. Spice Girls had a dope debut song. This shit aint on that level.

Not really a debut song though, even if it is technically their American debut.

REDUCTIVE.

If these Samsung bots are going to keep plagiarizing The Queen, they need to sit down and take better notes.

You people disgust me. How dare you enjoy something that I don't, weirdos. They sound like a group of cats slowly dying. All kpop must be exactly like this, garbage. You should be listening to all the super cool indie bands that nobody's heard of, like I do.

This song is ok though, but don't tell anybody I said that: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kv5hYEXhZZk

Anyone noticed how damn close to the piano Sunny and some of the others were dancing to the piano to the left. It must have been an nightmare dancing in that cramped situation.

I don't want to believe Teddy Riley was the major producer/composer of that track.

I see Taesung Kim, DOM, Richard Garcia listed as well on wiki.

The lyrics for the English version could be his as he is co-credit. He was never exalted for those.

And I don't know what in the 6 hours of his best music I have tallied up in Winamp that says K-Pop dance.

Has to be mostly just about the money. Even so I don't understand why you don't have him do something like he is known for. Maybe he hears the unremarkable 3 and half or 4 min pop songs that are big hits today and thinks he could do that easily.

Indeed. Gee is actually some catchy shit I can see becoming popular unlike this.

Gee would be the Asian equivalent of the Macarena or The Ketchup Song; a novelty song.

Nobody would take them seriously after that. Plus the whole cutesy shit would have to be toned down, but I do think it has the potential to be a bit of a hit in the right climate.

I like Gee though, first Kpop song I heard and I've liked Hyoyeon feat. Girls' Generation ever since.

The Boys is just a shit song in general. The entire song is a convoluted hot mess. Any song would have been better for them to break in with.

He wrote/produced a much better song for the kpop girl group Rania:

David Letterman said "I'm Chris Berman" right off the bat and then I closed it. Not because it was bad, but because it was so good. I'm saving this video as a love letter to myself on Valentines Day. See you then, GAF. Gonna bump this thread after Valentines Day!

Big Bang would be huge here in the states.

I honestly think they are too feminine to make it in the west. Only TOP can make it work.

Anyway, SNSD may have better songs, but they were never going to debut with a non-english song in the USA and expect to have any remote amount of success. Most of their songs probably wouldn't translate well anyway.

Why did they not use Mr. Taxi at-least. What were they thinking...

Heck, i think Destiny, Run Devil Run, The Great Escape or You-aholic would have been awesome for it.

i don't think anyone anywhere will ever take kpop seriously

Run Devil Run makes too much sense.

I grew to like The Boys quite a lot though.

SM Entertainment (Girl's Generation's label) made a pretty big deal about getting Teddy Riley. They even say "TRX" (Teddy Riley Xperience) in the song. Plus he produced another Kpop group Rania until he had a falling out with their label. So yeah, he's been doing this for a bit.

I remember when they first debuted everyone said they were a Korean B2K.

I have no doubt they'd be big if they come out with a club banger.

He also produced EXO's first song.

Something like "tonight" could work.

Man, after watching Wonder Girls North American debut, it totally blows SNSD's out of the water.

Plus, better song too.
