Diablo 3 Beta [Beta withdrawal underway!]

Seems like this was the day for a bunch of people, including myself. Probably won't have time to play until Sunday at the earliest, however.
 
Looks like most of GAF is in. So no point in showing this. :P But I wasn't even thinking about the game that much lately, and bam I get in.

 
I am in, played a bit and then it crashed and I stopped. One thing i noticed so far is that the levels are very confined. Not like stony fields which is a massive open box, this is like passages. Then again I am only level 5.

One thing I do like is the random lore and achievement things you find. I love me some collecting (Best part of wow)
 
Love the game, absolutely no surprise at all as I loved 1 and 2 a tonne.

Feels smooth and fantastic. Really glad I resisted watching people streaming large chunks of it at once beforehand.

They wipe everything? As in achievements and characters? Does it get logged permanately anywhere in your battle.net account? Kind of a bummer if it doesn't...

Im against the forced arena's...wish they would let us choose whether the room we create is pvp capable or strictly pve only. It's only 4 people in a room in d3 right?

Also I received an email about the beta after I actually downloaded/played it.
 
Just checked my email and woohoo! Got in! Now my question is how will this game play to someone who has never played a Diablo game outside of the opening 5 minutes of Diablo II? When I originally played Diablo III in South Korea at G-Star 2010, I had no idea what the hell I was doing.
 
Just finished my first playthrough (with a barb) woot! No real surprises of course since I've watched a ton of videos but was still a lot of fun. You feel so bad ass when you send people flying everywhere haha. Created a wizard but this will have to wait until tomorrow.

Funny thing...I finally received the invite email 5min after I finished the playthrough haha
 
Man, I put so many countless hours into Diablo II and I got in as well today. Downloading and excited to see how much better it is.

It's really easy to get into. The controls are pretty simple and there are tutorial pop ups that explain what everything does.
 
Game is perfect, it's everything I ever wanted in D3. I just played for like 4 hours straight. And to think this is only the tip of the iceberg- you can only get to lvl 13 so you see a fraction of the skills, you also see a tiny fraction of the items and customization with gems and runes and all that other stuff. It's just so good. This is the game of forever. Love the physics, they add alot to the gameplay. Love how meaty the combat feels (played as barbarian) instead of cutting through paper mobs in D2. Love the gore and gibs. Love the art style, dark and foreboding. The Cathedral levels are classic Diablo. Everything is perfect, I'm in love. Well there's one thing... I don't understand the point of having to level up to unlock ability slots but I'm sure there's some deeply thought out design decision to it.

Decided to check my email after seeing so many people got in today, and it looks like I'm on a beta roll. Invited to steam mobile app, then DOTA2, and now D3. Should have signed up for PSO2 alpha to round everything out.

Hope that can change later.. not fond of the name after making it.
