Madonna's New Single: Give Me All Your Luvin'

So why did the name of the song change? Did Square Enix pull a trademark because TWEWY 2 will exist?
I want to believe.

They reviewed a single? I'm not a fan of BTW but a lot of that album was great - I hope its the same case here.

It amounts to a subpar effort from all parties, particularly Madonna, who hasn't sounded this robotic since the more tweaked-out moments on her last album, "Hard Candy." Here's hoping her other collaborations with Solveig, as well as longtime collaborator William Orbit, produce better dance-pop results when new album "M.D.N.A." comes out March 26.

Slant Magazine

The last time Madonna got divorced, we got "Like a Prayer," so it's hard to ignore how decidedly vapid "Give Me All Your Luvin'" is by comparison. There's nothing wrong with that per se: She's done frivolous bubble-gum pop before, and while the timing for a song like this might be perfect for pop radio (with boosters Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. tacked on for added marketability, natch), it feels shockingly…reductive. "Every record sounds the same/You gotta step into my world," Madonna sings, but even if "Give Me All Your Luvin'," produced by French DJ Martin Solveig, doesn't really sound like anything on the radio right now, it also doesn't sound like what "Justify My Love" sounded like in 1990, what "Frozen" sounded like in 1998, what "Music" sounded like in 2000, or even what "Hung Up" sounded like in 2005. The song is catchy, sure, but its few charms—'60s surf-pop guitar, vintage video-game effects, and references to her past songs—are fleeting at best.

This is quite honestly the worst song I have ever heard, hands down.

I'm in absolute shock and utter disgust that people would support this kind of "music".

lol @ 9,000 dislikes on youtube. Love it.

Yeah its not a very good song. And the other two songs in the megamix are not any better.

Madonna sounds really bored in this song, really monotone delivery.

I made the mistake of watching this right after I watched M.I.A.'s new video. Don't do that. Madonna didn't even have a chance.

That said, after that abortion of a song Minaj just put out and having been exposed to SNSD's "music" for the first time recently, I found GMAYL to be fairly inoffensive. It's not good but it's not bad enough for me to really care. The music video itself is the bland, typical pop stuff you expect these days. My one word review would be "Whatever.".

Wow, I'm impressed!

I'm not much of a fan of contemporary Madonna, but the video is absolutely fantastic (love the kooky references to other moments in her career) and the song's not bad-- ultra catchy and has moments that remind me of Saint Etienne.

*edit*
The more I think about it, this is exactly what Madonna's been missing for a while-- a pronounced sense of humor and a willingness to poke fun at herself. The level of silliness here is just what the doctor ordered and the song and video are deservedly going to be huge. Hope the album delivers.

Jesus...this has to be some sort of record...
Hate to burst your bubble but Gaga went no. 1 in 23 countries(in other words every country with iTunes). GMAYL also has yet to reach #1 in the US yet. Gaga achieved that in three hours and was the fastest selling single ever.

wait, people hate this song?

It's pop, it' a cute little song. what were people expecting? I was expecting total trash, but I just heard it and I haven't barfed.

I've just listened to this song and I started to wonder: When did the whole collaborating with rappers start take off? Or rather, who/what made it popular?

and speaking of Nicki Minaj....

I think it's actually better than GMAYL. :P

I'm really enjoying watching Madonna's and Gaga's fans go at it on Youtube.

It's very amusing.

Madonna had a pop at Born This Way again to stoke the fires. I hope she slips something into the Super Bowl show just for the hell of it. Either that or she'll just call everyone motherfuckers like she usually does.

currently listening to Ray of Light, unarguably Madonna's best album.

Every 10 seconds, in any part of the album, there is prodigious sound mixing happening.

If you listen carefully, what's inside the songs, you hear sounds never before used, mixed and blended to give as a result a once in a singer's career product.

truly a masterpiece.

lol @ Australia

I guess that's what happens when you refuse to tour a country for almost 20 years....

of course it'll hit #1 eventually

I don't know what's more depressing. That this song is number 1, that the song doesn't even compare quality wise to any of the songs in Ray of Light or that Robyn is toiling in indie pop obscurity while this shit is in the charts.
