@WayneRooney what this #Superbowl really needs is your mate Howard Webb to liven it up with a few dodgy penalties, Shrek.

I can't believe Pep pass on Ozil, remember when Werder Bremen were willing to sell him to us for 8 fucking millions? then Pep decided to pass on him. Stupid move by Pep, giving your fiercest rival a shot at buying a world class talent for peanuts. Should've bought him, I'm sure with how fragile Iniesta is and how old Xavi is getting he would've fit in nicely even with Fabregas and Thiago IMO.

He would be a rotation player for you though. A player of his caliber deserves to start almost every match.

And I'm glad he has found his form. He was a tad disappointing early season but now he is awesome again.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/feb/05/mick-mccarthy-wolves-qpr

"McCarthy added: "Can I just say something about my owner: I've won three games in 22 and I'm still here as the manager of Wolves – that's some level of support and let's not forget that. When everybody's been trying to write negative stuff about me, he's been as supportive as anybody else so I owe him a debt of gratitude.""

"Despite being placed under intense pressure by his team's poor results this season, McCarthy was magnanimous enough to give much of the credit for the victory that lifted Wolves out of the relegation zone to his assistant, Terry Connor. The manager explained that, with their side trailing 1-0 after a debut QPR goal for Bobby Zamora, it was Connor who suggested the half-time reshuffle in which Kevin Doyle was brought off the bench to replace the right-back Richard Stearman, with Kevin Foley dropping back into defence so that Doyle could raid from the right."

Mick McCarthy & TC. Class blokes. I will miss them if Wolves go down.

So this African Cup of Nations doesn't qualify for Confederations right? I would be happy with another Uruguay vs Ghana, myself.

What I want:

Brazil
Japan
Mexico
New Zealand

Spain
Germany
Uruguay
Ghana

I have to admit guys, I am going through a period of depression in life at the moment for a while, especially with disliking the job and not being able to sleep well, and the way the game ended yesterday made it much harder to swallow at a time like this.

Sometimes a football match can really provide some energy that takes me away from this whole depressive state, but it's a gamble, because when things go wrong in the match you can end up feeling even worse.

We've talked about this before son - you need to chill and try to look at it objectively:

We started with a positive formation - with Mata playing centrally - but United dominated the opening exchanges in a game of very little quality.

We took an undeserved 3 - 0 lead - but Torres looked lively, Mata was always involved - but Malouda was awful. The first penalty was a rash piece of defending from Sturridge; the second? Well, the less said the better - and that was what gave United the momentum.

Torres should have scored - but his lack of confidence really shone through.

Then came AVB's decision making - a bold move to start the game quickly faded under pressure; shifting Mata out wide completely kills his influence, taking Sturridge off when he was tormenting Evra was another poor piece of management.

Essien, who hasn't played for months, remains on the field when clearly exhausted, Malouda, who has been shit all season, stayed on - and Sturridge, who looked a threat all game, gets subbed.

Yes Webb made a couple of poor decisions that, ultimately, cost us the match - but we can look a little closer to home for some other issues.

I agree with all your posts, and I am saddened that we have another subbing decision that went all wrong. Sucks more when you realize Malouda remained on the pitch.

THIS, thankfully I was not the only one creeped out. Only real pics that didnt freak me out were spanish wrath (madrid scum, lovely kit :/) and fady, because... its fady. Who btw should have had thread title honors by now.

You are very kind Messi, thank you :).

Cheer up Fady.

Blatter has said very little in his life worth repeating, but he did say "In football we get used to losing." Wise words.

Feeling that disappointment of throwing away a lead is what makes a victory in weeks to come all the sweeter.

Yeah, I felt a bit more numb than I expected - probably in part because the sun was coming up and I hadn't slept.

It was a turbulent game, but you'd have to be on Jamie Redknapp or John Champion's intellectual level to call it a good one.

The bonuses I take from it are potential boosts in confidence for De Gea and Chicha. And Rooney banging in consecutive pens. The negatives: I have not much faith in Evra at all, really, and Young is looking like the dud Wes tells us he is.

It will all be good when we win the Champions League.

That Bueno guy is moving to Liverpool next year. 17 years old, 3 in 5 games. Our Hernandez...?
3 in 4 as a sub. It should have been 4 if not for that trip for the last penalty.

He was suppose to go on a month long trial this month to Liverpool, but Pachuca now consider him first team and won't let him go unless its on a transfer.

*brofist*

Anyway sorry to hear that Fady, hope you can find a better job or field to work in. It sounds stupid but I also have extreme mood swings because of football, watching Copenhagen, Chelsea and to some extend Palermo clown around every week really gets me pissed.

Blatter has said very little in his life worth repeating, but he did say "In football we get used to losing." Wise words.

I never get used to it.

Lucky for me my account gets activated after an Arsenal 7-1 win and not one of our many many disappointments this year. 4th is ours i tell ya

cheer up fady, hope you find a job you really love soon.

i understand how you feel about today though. equal parts deflating and frustrating, i went for a run afterwards just to blow off steam. on the brightside, at least our ranks are growing on gaf with sloosha and fintan :)

I'll bet anything Uruguay and Mexico get drawn in the same group.

cruz is going for the title this time! mark my words
Cruz Azul? I'm actually thinking Pachuca/Santos/Tigres/Morelia in the semis with Pachuca taking it in the end.

Seems to suggest he has signed and we're waiting for him to turn 18.

His agent said no final agreement was made.

Well it's my birthday today GAF. I am 23.

But today is also the day where all Mancunians remember the Munich Air disastor.
RIP

I do object to millionaires being presented a new car on the pitch for being man of the match at super bowl it's ridiculous

Glad giants won but apparently the winning touchdown was an accident and he didn't want to get it for some reason

Happy birthday dc

He was going to kneel at the 1 yard line so that we can just hit a FG for the win. But the momentum from his run carried him into the end zone. He wasn't expecting the Patriots to just let him score so he expected some hits.

why give a car like that to a man that will probably never drive it? he would be suffering a major case of first world problems
