So is Ninja Gaiden a launch title for sure? I'm thinking of either that or Wipeout. I never played any of the other Wipeout games, so I don't know how much I would or wouldn't enjoy the new PSV one.

Yeah, it's a launch title, and I will definitely buy at some point... that point being when there's a sale.

Here's hoping Sony update the Vita with PS1 functionality soon after launch. I just bought Final Fantasy IX to play on PSP while waiting for Vita but I doubt I will finish it before it launches.

Has anyone got any word on when GS will stop taking 1st Edition pre-orders?

I'm about to pre-order tomorrow so I want to lock that in ASAP.

So, the Vita has Bluetooth. I wonder if we can use headsets for chat...or headphones for sound.

Well, yes in a way. I would not use a headset with built in mic. Nor would I use headphones with a BT headset shoved in under the can. I would just use BT for voice and use the Vita speakers for sound. When no VC, then go full on headphones.

Here is some info on Gravity Rush from Japan

As I said earlier Dengeki PS's gravity daze score is 95 / 90 / 100 / 80

One of the good thing is that there seems to have many side missions and even support rankings for those missions. The reviewers all said that there are a lot of side stuff you can do to enjoy the game other than the main story.
One down side seems that the game auto saves often and that when you retry, the loading is very long. And they also praise other things like the graphics, BGM, art direction, etc.

and there are some other information from Japanese people who got the game early(These might not be 100% accurate info though):

there is a lot skills you can level up.there are many costumes you can receive during the game. apparently you can set pose ans stuff. There are many accessories, and if you equip them they actually reflect it in the character.
the visuals are exactly same from the demo, and there seems to be no frame drops.
The part where you have to use the gyro-sensor for the gravity move thing, you can change at the option to turn off the gyro. They also mentioned that the load time is a bit too long.
One guy who finished the game took 14 hours (for main story probably)

As for the FEB, I'm really excited to get it early, for sure, but I am also really looking forward to Little Deviants. I like (and am going to miss) the developer. I like mini game collections and some of the ones I've seen look fun. Trophy hunting will also help this game type quite a bit. Annnnnd, the FEB case is still my favorite case. So even if it didn't come out a week early it would likely still be the bundle I buy.

I know some of the backlash was a reaction to FEB Master Race nonsense people were posting, and some is legitimate jealousy, I mean we're all excited to get our hands on this thing. But I think we should be better than tearing each other down over such trivial nonsense. Comeon, gaf.

If all of this turns out to be true then it sounds like a great game.

For all people interested, who didn't have the chance to play the demo - even with the gyro on, you still can use the right stick to aim while floating.

Got a $100 gift card from Best Buy from buying a HDTV. Even though I rarely play handhelds anymore, i'm thinking about holding it for the Vita. Need to stop by a gamestop and try this out before I preorder tho. That Uncharted does look sexy in the videos.

Thanks.

Sounds great save for the load times, hope these will get ironed out as the devs learn the vita better.

The long loading times in games worry me, it isn't like the PSP where we could have fast loading on memory sticks.

This is my biggest hardware concern with Vita. I suppose we can only hope developers cut loading times down as they get more experienced.

The long loading times in games worry me, it isn't like the PSP where we could have fast loading on memory sticks.

Unfortunately, read/write speeds become a bottleneck the more assets get loaded into memory. This is why the handheld leap from DS to 3DS/Vita is seeing a surge in load times.

Heck, even Resident Evil Revelations has loading issues, and it's not HD. Still, the game loads huge areas of the ship at a time, along with the enemies, so it chugs whilst doing that.

I didn't include this info because it is still a very vague rumor, and I think it isn't true. One guy said that there is a mandatory install for the game, and it take about 1.2GB of the memory, and even with this install, the load time was slow. I highly doubt this is true though.

Mandatory installs on Vita games?

Gonna need a bigger card.

I doubt it seeing as game carts are faster read speeds than the memory cards. You'd be installing the game to a slower disc which makes no sense

Unless the PSV can read both at once. It's slower, but the two combined is still notably quicker if it works that way.

The loading on the Gravity Rush demo is pretty disgusting.

I played Gravity Rush earlier, while not exactly graphically impressive, it's really fun, and the animation is incredible. I was going to hold off for a few months, maybe get one xmasish, but I'll probably bite in March now.

Not graphically impressive? What handheld game not on Vita looks better?

The US boxart says 4MB required

OMG!

So hyped for this game.

I said nothing about 3G. Please re-read my post.

I'm talking about the GPS, and some Vita games already take advantage of it.

WiFi model does not have a GPS.

It's probably "assisted GPS" though. Which relies a lot on Wifi.

I'm guessing you'll still be able to ascertain your location, at least in urban areas, using just the Wifi, in a manner similar to the way a WiFi iPod Touch or iPad does.

Wouldn't the review mention this as it's the first Vita game to do it?

That does not make sense because the memory cards aren't as fast as the game cards anyway (unless the data on the game card is severely compressed, of course).

Could someone explain the Gravity Rush release thing? It's released in Japan on PSN (9th?), but not coming to America for another few months? Is it possible for a NA Vita to just pick it up from the JP PSN store when the Vita releases here?

I assume its possible to buy it from JP PSN store and play it, but you would probably need to run Japanese account, and you need either credit card that works in Japan or Japanese PSN gift card.

2 weeks before launch and I can't even decide if I want a 3G or Wifi only, which protective screen to buy or where to order the console. It would be a lot easier if Portugal had any decent bundles available, but apparently this extremely struggling economy don't want my money.

This is all correct. You would need to play on JP account, first of all (switching isn't too bad, takes 5-10mins but you won't be able to earn trophies on your retail cards or play your download stuff from your non-JP account while on this account), and you would need a way to pay for it -- Japanese credit card or Japanese PSN card. On top of that, of course, the language will be in Japanese only. To top it all off, thanks to the strength of the yen right now, it would cost like $60+ USD even for the DL version -- and that's ignoring any mark-up on PSN cards.

Off topic but i went and watched pretty much all of your youtube videos yesterday - they're fantastic. Keep up the great work! :)

Is that why importing some Vita games cost like $80? 8(

last night, fired up PSP Modnation, was messin around and before i knew it about 2 hours passed.......

starting to think Road Trip should be a pick-up for me

twentytwo22, I don't think you've mentioned the feel of the triggers in your youtube videos. Are they more like on the PSPGo (if you've ever tried one) or more like the regular PSP?

Is it available on physical media? Maybe I'll just import it.

EB games in Canada gave me 100$ for the 3DS, a 50$ bump seeing It was going to a Vita.

I also traded in 6 games, seeing they were all worth more than 8$, they gave me 25$ each, seeing it was going towards the Vita.

So come the 22nd, it will cost like 10$ (plus games and memory). I feel bad feeing the monster, but feels good man.

Anyone know if gamestop is having a 3ds trade in deal? Getting the itch and I don't wanna pay full price.

Before you do, PM me and let me know how many Game stop space bucks they offer you for it.. I might take it off your hands, since I don't want to pay full price for one of those.

Edit - Nvm, their current promo basically gives you all your money back.
