That was then. This is now. (Prays to the Great Old Ones for Lego Star Trek)

The Enterprise would obviously be the first mega set they'd make, but I would love a DS9 set or a Klingon bird of prey.

Sorting has become the most crazy experience ever. It's NEVER ending. I'll have to post pictures of all my sorting I've been up to the past few weeks. My collection is significantly more navigable now...
It took me roughly 2 weeks to sort my childhood collection, and that was 'just' about 20,000 - 25,000 pieces. The roughest part was remembering whether I'd created a bag for some of the smaller, less common brinks.
It was of course so very much worth the hard work, as I've been able to create my first to MOCs.
Did the X-Wing tonight. This one is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Really fun and fairly challenging for a newbie, lots of cool engineering (the way the S-Foils go in and out of attack position is really cool) and it's just a beautiful model when finished. Get this one!

are those pretty regularly available? Like if I walk into a Target or Walmart tomorrow? I have an autistic nephew who is a wiz with puzzles, and I future this might be the next step up for us to do together.
It just came out this month. It should be available everywhere by now.

So, went to the other Westfield. It's about the size as Stratford, sale area was a bit rubbish as it was mostly party stuff and some Hero Factory. Staff were OK (or so I thought....).
The PAB wall was very good, got some nice parts. Sadly they had wheels but no tires, still grabed some for engines or greebles though. Right dark red wings but no left wings.......
Still, it seemed better than Stratford in a way maybe because it was my first trip there?
The down side was when it came to paying. I got one large cup and one smal. The small was when I was running out of time so didn't stack but just went for small pieces so the lid fitted no problem. The large one I stacked though so the lid was about 1cm off fitting on one side and just about touching on the other side. The clerk told me I had to remove some bricks.....
I removed a layer of 2x4's and he told me I had to remove another layer. He wanted the lid to close 100%. I know it's fair enough but in all I have read, talked or seen at or about the PAB wall I've never heard of this kind of behaviour.
Oh well, onto the spoils.

Wut....there's a lego store at Westfield? Since when?
I used to go there all the time when I lived in London, but never noticed it! Did it just recently arrive?
Will definitely pay a visit next time I'm in town...(in a month or two hopefully). We don't have any dedicated Lego stores here in Dublin.

Think its always been there? There is one in both westfields now.
Wish they'd bring something further west - Reading or Bristol would make sense.

Maybe I try to import a UCS set somehow from the US.
But which one should I get? SSD or Death Star?
That's a difficult decision...

I had the X-Wing back in the 90s and I'm curious if they changed the design of how the S-Foils work. Back then there was a gear in the back that you would rotate that would open and close them. Is it still the same?
I don't follow this thread close enough so forgive me if this has already been discussed but how do you guys feel about the new Legos that are for girls?
edit: I am having a baby girl in March and think these could be cool.
Surely Duplo is more appropriate for a baby?
Duplo, man!
The friends LEGO (as with all LEGO) is awesome, but it may be a little too early for that. Duplo is the ideal entry point.
Sorry I did not mean that I would be giving my baby actual lego friends sets.. I was just curious what you guys think about those sets and if they will keep making them?
isn't it a fairly new idea for lego? actually building sets for hair salons etc??
Do you want more play or more display?
Play = Death Star, easy.
Display = SSD hands down.
Imperial Star Destroyer!
Display, no question.
If you're going to spend the money, SSD is your best bet then. I mean, the Death Star is a great model, but even from looking at it, you can tell it's meant to be played with.
Does anyone know how long the SSD will be in print? I want to buy one but would like to hold off for a bit still.
Usually stay in production for 2-3 years on the Star Wars stuff. I think it came out in 2011 so you should be safe for a while.
The Death Star is like a collection of key scenes from the films, though. I need some more Imperial officers though, so I can find their lack of faith disturbing.
