One of the main "things" with the Vita is them trying to sell you two versions of a game so you can "Play on PS3 then take your game anywhere" - do you really need to ask why it doesn't have a HDMI out?

That idea will go nowhere unless they are sold together at a very reasonable discount.

I think it would be great if sony allowed kindle to release their app for vita too. Along with netflix i could be very convenient.

I'm so fucking pumped for the Vita it's not even funny. Next week is going to suck because I'll be getting all my accessories, Uncharted, and 32GB memory card and then I have to wait another week for the console :(

yes US gaf

Tried Fifa today; it is really good, new features such as touch-passing and shooting are great once you get used to it (it takes a couple of matches).

Visually it is stunning, virtually identical to its ps360 counterpart. It looks even sharper thanks to dat small OLED.

Can't wait.

I'm glad to hear that you liked it. I love FIFA and it's one of the games I'm getting at launch. Can't wait!

Seems to me that it is a counter-productive decision, one that makes people ask, "Wait - if all the games I want will be on the PS3, why do I need a Vita?" I think that's harmful.

So are all of those incompatible games going to be made available soon? I'm totally ignorant of the situation and this is sort of important in deciding exactly how soon I'm getting one of these bad boys.

I think if we stop calling them 'incompatible' and instead say 'not up yet' we'd all calm down.

No, the difference is that the dev units had an actual HDMI port so that the developers had a better look at the game. The retail units will not have any sort of port, so unless you want to fork over $2000 I really don't think you'll be able to do this. Even Sony said the Vita won't have that function. But yeah, a later PSP did have the feature to plug it in, so we can only hope. I just wish they'd gotten it right the first time.

Getting it right would mean not having it on the third revision for you to buy :D

The Barrier Chief protectors I ordered last week arrived today.
Just in time for my Vita arrival. I'll pass along my impressions once my system gets here.

doing the FEB bundle and debating between the 16gb and 32gb card... want to go all digital and lots of psp games on digital :( but at $99.99 i wont have much money to spend on games.. damn it.

Well, not all games are on both :P And it's the idea that you can carry your game on while away from your console

using the touch screen on this is very smooth (i have an iphone so i have something decent already). the screen is incredible, but my phone can't seem to take a flattering picture of it.

i have to update it before i can link my psn account though.

How are some of you getting NA Vitas already? Mom and pop stores?

it's bee said, but i got it from amazon.ca. my games are ordered through bestbuy though ha so i probably won't have most of them for a week. i think i might head to eb and buy a card or game if they have no cards.

You'll need a card even if you just buy a game due to the memory card restriction for most of them. So hopefully they've got some to part with.

WiFi pre-order cancelled and "upgraded" to 3G courtesy of the pretty reasonable GameStation trade in deals. Looking forward to some HSG action day 1!!

If you want the 32gb card you probably shouldn't bother with the FEB

want the case and little devients... played ld at vita hill and i liked it and my wife and little dude will love it, plus im impatient :) .... if i would've got the 3g/wifi bundle on the 22nd it wouldve been the same thing cause i would want a case and deviants, only diff is the mem card and im selling that off or keeping it for minis anyway, or letting the wife use it for her psn account... still debating.

The FEB case is absolutely gorgeous inside and out.

It almost looks to be covered in tiny droplets of water.

I know that the case looks to be of high quality, but I was disappointed to see it wasn't the pouch. I love when my handheld cases don't take up too much room in my purse, and the pouch looked very sleek.

Any impressions on this

Vita Trigger Grips

I can't play my 3DS without a grip anymore. The Vita looks a lot more comfortable but if it's anything like the PSP my hands might fall asleep/feel cramped if after extended play while laying down.

Any recommended protective cases that you use while playing otherwise? I never was a fan of screen protectors or cases in the past, but my girlfriend's son has a habit of wanting to play my 3DS even though he has his own, and I know for sure he'll be dying to play my Vita. He's just a little kid though so I should take a few precautions :P

Fiance surprised me last night for my b/day with a $250 gift card, to go towards the Vita! So, between that, and some extra work I've done for some friends of mine, work bonus, income tax, I'm rolling in extra dough for the launch.

Now I just need to narrow down my game selection. I figured there's no reason to go crazy and get a bunch of launch games, so I'm down to:

HSG for sure
Wipeout
MLB12 (March 6th)

I'm torn between Rayman and Fifa for my last purchase. Both look great.

decided to only get one 32GB card at launch, I've been able to survive with only a 8GB card in my PSP for a couple years now so I think I can make it with a 32GB until they come out with a 64GB :)

edit: also importing a hori case from Japan so I'm now open to selling the case, Little Deviants (which I think I have a buy for?) and the 4GB stick that comes with the First Edition bundle if anyone is interested

The Vita is a lot more comfortable than the PSP. I don't know if it's the grips or the slight increase in width. But my hands are different from yours. Your best bet is to try it out for yourself and see how it works for you.

Super Stardust is worth the cheap price of admission, if you haven't got that on PS3 yet.
