So they are offering extended warranties for PS Vita as well. Hopefully that's a sign that the system is reliable.

Are you going to add all the wallpapers over from that other site? Would just be nice to have them in one spot :)

I am adding the ones that I thought were high quality and SFW. So yes! I am almost done adding them.

As for what the future holds, I have a ton of wallpapers that I will put up. Also, I hope people eventually start submitting their own. :)

Wasn't there a rumor of a stealth upgrade to 8GB in the FEBs?

My Gamestop manager friend had an opened FEB, and there was a 4GB card in the box with a blacked out bar code on the packaging. The Little Deviants box was a standard retail box though. It had a bar code on the back, and it didn't say "Not for resale" like they usually do in these type of bundles.

Boxed is faster.
Boxed ones actually load faster apparently.
Are there any comparison videos on this? I know about the Uncharted one, but there one screen is in japanese and one is in english, so maybe that affects the loading times somehow. But the difference isnt anything bigger than 2-3 seconds however. I have also seen the Army Corps of Hell one, but there the difference is ~1 second. But are there any other videos as well?

Mine has a bar code but says NOT FOR RESALE right above the bar code, and it's a fake 0000000 bar code.

good to know on the little deviants thing though. have a feeling that thing is headed up for resale very quickly after I buy. can't imagine i'm going to enjoy it.

Does anyone know if Costco will be getting in the PS Vita? They used to have it listed on their site as "Coming Soon on 2/22" but now almost everything Playstation-related on the Costco site is gone, including all the games for systems. I wonder if something occurred between them and Sony or if they're dropping games in general or just overhauling the game section of the site. It's on the Sony Canada site...

(My work gives us Costco cash cards as a bonus and I was hoping to use the cards I have to buy a Vita.)

*begin derail* of course, the lucky chap who purchases that FEB will no doubt pay full retail for their previously opened purchase. kudos gamestop, keep the dream alive! *end derail*

The person who's buying that exact package is the one who opened it, as far as I remember him saying earlier in this thread.

I'm not sure if the barcode was fake, I didn't get to stare at it closesly enough, but the manager friend looked right at it, and told me she'd take it back as a swap for another equal value title, or towards another purchase. So, it's possible the other poster right before you might be right. My bundle will be coming from Amazon.com, so, I'm not sure it'll be the same.

The opened box belonged to a customer who wanted to see the insides of his bundle in store, even though he couldn't leave with it. The manager is cool like that, she let him see.

Thanks for the responses guys. This solidifies my choice for the wifi. As a followup to you 3G users what are the added benefit of the GPS?

If you tether Vita to your cellphone, then the WiFi Vita should be able to connect anywhere like a 3G Vita (with a plan). But you will consume cellphone battery while gaming. Some Vita games and apps support 3G game modes. AT&T and Verizon are looking into shared data plan (for multiple devices). I am interested to see if these new plans are worthwhile for myself.

As for GPS, 3G Vita is more accurate for a personal location app like Google Maps. Because of privacy concerns, a social app like Near is probably coarse grain enough to support WiFi locationing reasonably well. If you tether to your cell, I think a WiFi Vita will not borrow the location data from the phone. It should still be an estimated location based on the WiFi connectivity.

EDIT:
I preordered a 3G Vita to keep my options open: Tethered with GPS location, shared data plan with GPS location, 4G MiFi with GPS location, prepay 3G plan when traveling overseas.

Is that confirmed? At the very least they're housed in different kinds of cases.

I'm guessing he just means "same kind of medium" as in they are both basically flash memory.

The actual cards themselves are obviously different though, like you mentioned.

It's too bad they didn't just stick with Memory Stick Pro Duo's. Then we could get the Mark 2's or "high speed" cards. Now we're just stuck with whatever memory cards Sony wants to make for the Vita.

ahh cool. always like those types of guys. the other ones (that i unfortunately assume all of them to be) however.. *vomit*

Want to reply in general to the responses I got to my post last night...

I do get and understand why Sony is doing the first edition bundles and why they wouldn't be likely to authorize pick ups on all other pre-orders this week. They're charging 50-100 bucks more to get it a week early and that is extra profit for them so it makes sense why they're doing it this way. I wouldn't have even made the suggestion I did that Sony authorize/ok pick ups on all pre-orders along with feb pick ups this week if it wasn't for the fact accessories and games are available. I know with every system launch games and some accessories always seem to leak out early, but this time it's odd since they've ok'd that those things can be sold everywhere now, before launch.

I admit sometimes I write out some goofy or "wrong" posts, I have no problem admitting to that. I try to actually make constructive contributions to threads instead of complaints. But the biggest thing for me is I respect all posters, even if I strongly disagree with what they post. I believe that all opinions should at least be respected, regardless of if they're right or wrong. I will do better trying to think out more clearly what I want to write from here on in. Like everyone else I would like to join in on some of the discussions (Though it definitely helps if it's about a game or topic I have a lot of knowledge of) So, I wholeheartedly apologize for some of my "wrong" or goofy posts and hope everyone in this thread can forgive that.

With all that said, I'd very much like to join in this thread over the course of this week, with everyone else, if that would be welcomed :)

After much back and forth on what I wanted for my launch line up, this is finally what I've settled on...

Wifi Vita pre-ordered already, but I'm 95 percent sure I'm going to get a 3G+wifi one, for the reason a lot of others gave, to be future proof and in case something really cool requiring 3G comes out. THAT'S a decision I can make at the last minute :)

Definite accessories and games-going to get as much of this this week as possible, everything else on the official launch day
32 GB memory card (I absolutely need to try to get at least that this week)
Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus
Shinobido 2
Uncharted
Rayman Origins-Have it on 360, but it's worth the price alone just to hear that music in stereo headphones!
Katamari
Ridge Racer-was going to wait a bit but with the added stuff for the Western launch it's easier to say yes to it now at launch.
Hot Shots Golf-it looks really fun and something that would be easy to learn to play.
Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom-I'm not normally into fighters and I'm not terribly good at them but this one looks good so Vita would be as good a place as any to experience it. Looks to be the complete game too.
Dynasty Warriors Next-loved what I've played of DW Chronicles on 3DS so this should be good too.
Dungeon Hunter-went back on forth over ps3 or Vita and decided to just get the Vita one. Got Untold Legends at PSP launch so I wanted a hack and slash with the Vita launch too.

A few games I may wait a week or 2 to get but those are the ones I'd like to get within the next month.

Will get Disgaea 3 in April..I had it for PS3 and sold it, mostly due to not giving it too much of a chance but will try it again on Vita.

Gravity Daze for sure, it looks phenomenal..it would have been a huge plus if it had made launch though, I'm thinking it'd have sold even more people on a Vita.

Later in the year getting the game that was Ruin and Dragon's Crown. FFX later down the line as well.

If you don't mind me asking, why would you buy ten games at launch? How can you possibly have time to play ten different games?

A few of those are single player games and I think he could "finish" all 10 of those games before the end of next month.

Now, if he was buying them all on launch day, I'd ask the same question too.

The launch craze usually involves a few people buying as many games as they can. Some people like to sample as much as possible and play a game for say an hour or two and if they aren't hooked, move on to the next game. Plus if they're going to buy them anyways it saves them multiple trips to the store

I just got screwed out of my release day delivery by Amazon, will walking into a Best Buy be an option for getting the bundle on 2/15 or what?

So when do Playstation Store updates generally happen now? I want me some escape plan.

I won't buy Escape Plan until I know if it's going to be the game I get with the First Edition. I already hastily bought Stardust Delta so I hope it's a choice of games that you get when redeeming the data plan.

So if my Walmart gets the Wifi version in this week, my co-worker is going to try and ring it up once the FEB launches to see if it will let me purchase it. I am curious if the shipping boxes have the separate dates on them. I am not getting my hopes up but, never know :). We also better get 16gb cards in or I will be grumpy.

Yea i was thinking about getting this. Is it any good? At least for itts price?

I didn't have problems with the Sony earbuds for the PSP but for $10 more you could get some Sennheiser earbuds, although the latter wouldn't come with a microphone.

The blue ones in the pre-order pack?
Thought they would just be cheap throwaway ear buds like the iPhone ones.

I bought the CAD MH310's and am pumped as hell since I haven't had a good/great pair of headphones in a long, long time.

Escape Plan and Mutant Blobs Attack!!! are mine :)

Is that a PSN game? I may get that as well if that's the case and if it's actually good.

Asked my local Best Buy if they had a Vita demo unit, since I didn't see one. The dude pulls one out from under the counter and lets me play around with it.

Oh. My. God.

Even after NeoGAF hype I was unprepared for its awesomeness.

Will the vita be able to output enough power for headphones like that?

It's weird that there isn't any vita demo signage, just a random unit stashed in a drawer. What the hell has SCEA been doing for the last several months? This whole launch seems really poorly executed.
