Will the vita be able to output enough power for headphones like that?

I used a similar set with the PSP so I no reason why not. Can't remember the make though as they were lent to me.

They are pro headphones but have plugs for both too. I mean 2 different types for the audiophile.

I'll chuck this here again as I didn't get a reply the first time around.

Anyone know of a website currently shipping the silicon cover for the Vita? Would like one to arrive in time for launch here in NZ. I've checked Zavvi and Amazon (both say released on 22nd) and Planetaxel (No third party accessories listed).

Asked my local Best Buy if they had a Vita demo unit, since I didn't see one. The dude pulls one out from under the counter and lets me play around with it.

Oh. My. God.

Even after NeoGAF hype I was unprepared for its awesomeness.

Same here. Dropped by the GameStop today to take a look at it and was blown away by the screen size, comfort of holding it, and the overall lightness. Graphics are nice and the screen is bright and clear. It felt so good in my hands.

Still haven't pre-ordered, mostly because I don't see a lot of games at launch that will pull me in, but on the other hand, there are one or two that look like fun, and I could grab some old PSP games.

Decisions, decisions.

Out of curiosity, how'd you get screwed out of it?

I got $50 in amazon gift money today, and I had my FEB bundle set for release date delivery long ahead of time....there was no way to apply the gift card so I made the ridiculous assumption that I could reorder and just get release date delivery on the new order, but they completely removed it. I even humiliated myself by actually talking to someone on the phone about this and they told me there's no more release date delivery and to go fly a kite.

I'm just wondering if I can walk into a store and get the FEB on the 15th or if it'll be hard to do.

The situation completely sucks obviously. I'm sorry that you lost the release date delivery. I think something like this happened to someone else on this thread. I think when they spoke to customer service, they got next day delivery with the fee for that waived. I'm not sure if they got any additional credit for the inconvenience, but, at least they would be getting it on teh 17th (I think).

If you wind up attempting to get a FEB by walk in, I'd say call first to any available locations. It's always possible that someone isn't picking up their bundle from any brick and mortar store. Try calling Gamestops on Wednesday morning to find out. If you don't succeed there, you might try again on Thursday or Friday in case any reserves either cancelled late, or didn't bother to show up in time to pick up reserves causing the store to put it out for sale.

Try Best Buy for sure. I know GS is only getting reserved units

If you don't mind me asking, why would you buy ten games at launch? How can you possibly have time to play ten different games?

I don't mind answering at all :) The reason I started out wanting 10 games at launch is, I'm afraid like with the 32 GB memory cards, some of the games may become harder if not impossible to find later. It's impossible to tell what games will become rare or hard to find. You think I'd be able to find most if not all those games in a few months if I want to just get a few now and get the others over time? Not wanting to be snarky by any means, just trying to figure out how stock on the games themselves is going to be. If we're going by games that may become rare or hard to get down the line which ones should I make sure to get sooner as opposed to later?

A few random observations, I've been playing around with PSP games a bit now that they're up on US store.

For at least some games:
- Load times are faster
- Framerate is better (compared to stock 222mhz PSP and 333mhz overclocks)
- Dithering is sadly still present, but bilinear filtering helps a bit with it, especially on 2d content
- The OLED makes a difference with overall image clarity as well - even the non-dithered PSP games look somewhat grainy on original hw when viewed side-by-side

Whats this "PSP emulator" everyone's talking about?
Vita emulates PSP to run legacy software.

Is it that bad? Maybe i should get a different earphone...

They're comparable with the earphones Apple hands out with their devices, only not as comfortable. This will work for some, but I'm sure you'd find far better quality 'phones at a reasonable price by visiting the headphone thread in OT.

I really doubt any of those games are going to be in short supply or hard to find, even in a few months.

Love the tech know how. Could you elaborate on which specific games and bouts of dithering you are referring to?

I don't know. The likes of Shinobido, Dynasty Warriors and Ninja Gaiden will probably have a very limited print run. If I hadn't bought Samurai Warriors on 3DS release day I could have never got it because it just seemed to disappear afterwards.

I can't think of a single launch game for any console that has ever gone on to become rare.

Is that a PSN game? I may get that as well if that's the case and if it's actually good.

It is. Did you ever played Tales from Space: About a Blob? Great little indie game on PSN :) Mutant Blobs is a sequel. About a Blob was Pub Fund funded, but i believe MBA is not. Looks absolutely cracking. Just my sort of game.

Doesn't have a release date yet, just "launch window":(

I hate how NOW when you download PSP games, you can install them to your ps3 to organize. NOW i just have fucking bubbles all over the place.

I have it! I admit to not playing it tons but on the go it could be perfect.

I've been playing the heck out of DOTA 2 on Steam, and I just realized if I had a portable version of this game this would be digital crack I could have with me at all times. Between the rear touch pad, front touch screen, and buttons it might just work in terms of hot key functions. Valve needs to get on this or someone make a clone for the device!

The blue ones in the pre-order pack?

Thought they would just be cheap throwaway ear buds like the iPhone ones.

am I the only one that actually likes the Apple Earbuds w/ Mic & Remote?

are Plus members possibly going to get a further discount on the digital versions of Vita games?

No word yet. =)

I think that sounds promising

I agree, this is extremely irritating to see. Why can't I just lump them in my already existing psp folder?

Finally got my hands on a vita demo unit - looks great, but what the fuck were they thinking with the placement of the right analog stick?? Way too close to the buttons.
