this might not be the right thread but does anyone have any ideas on how i could transfer my save files from my pspgo removable micro media card to the vita? i no longer have the pspgo so i couldn't transfer that straight to the ps3. is there anyway i could do it?

Buy a USB reader and transfer it to your ps3 or PC

Will the vita be able to output enough power for headphones like that?

It's weird that there isn't any vita demo signage, just a random unit stashed in a drawer. What the hell has SCEA been doing for the last several months? This whole launch seems really poorly executed.

Not sure if serious? There are demo units all over the place.

Well, this is dumb. Amazon messed up my FEB order and I won't be getting it day one.

I saw that Amazon had changed my First Edition Bundle to "one day shipping" from the original "release date shipping" that I had when I ordered it back in November. There was no email telling me that this was going to happen, so I was surprised.

I tried to manually go change it back to release date shipping, and the option isn't there. Wtf?

So I get on the Amazon Customer Service live chat, and I'm told that there is nothing they can do for me, they can't ship all the orders so the release date shipping isn't an option for everyone anymore.

And I have Amazon Prime.

Edit: Waiting on hold for a supervisor now. Fuck me, now I'm "that guy".

Edit 2: Well, that wasn't fun. Amazon said that since I added a gift card to the payment, they changed my shipping speed. They said that any change to the order can allow them to update the shipping speed to whatever they want, without asking me first. What. The. Fuck. o_o

For the first time ever for me: Fuck Amazon. Crossing my fingers on a Best Buy walk in.

I got $50 in amazon gift money today, and I had my FEB bundle set for release date delivery long ahead of time....there was no way to apply the gift card so I made the ridiculous assumption that I could reorder and just get release date delivery on the new order, but they completely removed it. I even humiliated myself by actually talking to someone on the phone about this and they told me there's no more release date delivery and to go fly a kite.

I'm just wondering if I can walk into a store and get the FEB on the 15th or if it'll be hard to do.

I know this is a little late but if you view the order details and scroll down, at the bottom left it will say your gift card balance, and there will be a large yellow button underneath it that says "apply balance to this order".

I agree, this is extremely irritating to see. Why can't I just lump them in my already existing psp folder?

I think, when you copy back from vita to ps3 again, it wont appear as bubbles, but probably go to vita folder on ps3. It has subfolder for psp games and vita games if i remember it right.

Want to reply in general to the responses I got to my post last night...

I do get and understand why Sony is doing the first edition bundles and why they wouldn't be likely to authorize pick ups on all other pre-orders this week. They're charging 50-100 bucks more to get it a week early and that is extra profit for them so it makes sense why they're doing it this way. I wouldn't have even made the suggestion I did that Sony authorize/ok pick ups on all pre-orders along with feb pick ups this week if it wasn't for the fact accessories and games are available. I know with every system launch games and some accessories always seem to leak out early, but this time it's odd since they've ok'd that those things can be sold everywhere now, before launch.

I admit sometimes I write out some goofy or "wrong" posts, I have no problem admitting to that. I try to actually make constructive contributions to threads instead of complaints. But the biggest thing for me is I respect all posters, even if I strongly disagree with what they post. I believe that all opinions should at least be respected, regardless of if they're right or wrong. I will do better trying to think out more clearly what I want to write from here on in. Like everyone else I would like to join in on some of the discussions (Though it definitely helps if it's about a game or topic I have a lot of knowledge of) So, I wholeheartedly apologize for some of my "wrong" or goofy posts and hope everyone in this thread can forgive that.

With all that said, I'd very much like to join in this thread over the course of this week, with everyone else, if that would be welcomed :)

After much back and forth on what I wanted for my launch line up, this is finally what I've settled on...

Wifi Vita pre-ordered already, but I'm 95 percent sure I'm going to get a 3G+wifi one, for the reason a lot of others gave, to be future proof and in case something really cool requiring 3G comes out. THAT'S a decision I can make at the last minute :)

Definite accessories and games-going to get as much of this this week as possible, everything else on the official launch day
32 GB memory card (I absolutely need to try to get at least that this week)
Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus
Shinobido 2
Uncharted
Rayman Origins-Have it on 360, but it's worth the price alone just to hear that music in stereo headphones!
Katamari
Ridge Racer-was going to wait a bit but with the added stuff for the Western launch it's easier to say yes to it now at launch.
Hot Shots Golf-it looks really fun and something that would be easy to learn to play.
Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom-I'm not normally into fighters and I'm not terribly good at them but this one looks good so Vita would be as good a place as any to experience it. Looks to be the complete game too.
Dynasty Warriors Next-loved what I've played of DW Chronicles on 3DS so this should be good too.
Dungeon Hunter-went back on forth over ps3 or Vita and decided to just get the Vita one. Got Untold Legends at PSP launch so I wanted a hack and slash with the Vita launch too.

A few games I may wait a week or 2 to get but those are the ones I'd like to get within the next month.

Will get Disgaea 3 in April..I had it for PS3 and sold it, mostly due to not giving it too much of a chance but will try it again on Vita.

Gravity Daze for sure, it looks phenomenal..it would have been a huge plus if it had made launch though, I'm thinking it'd have sold even more people on a Vita.

Later in the year getting the game that was Ruin and Dragon's Crown. FFX later down the line as well.

Of course it's alright, man! Get hyped with us! And I would definitely recommend you switch that wifi model to the 3G bundle. You could use that 8gb card for PSP games and the 32gb card for Vita games!

Wow that sucks. I pre-ordered the FEB in January and mine is still set for release date delivery.

The shipping options on Amazon can be pretty wonky sometimes.

I had pre-ordered Rayman Origins for Vita back in January too. At the time, it did not allow release date delivery, so I had 1 day shipping (via Prime) set for delivery on the 16th. Just today I saw that release date delivery was being advertised for Rayman. So, I go to change shipping speed, and I can't pick anything faster than 1 day. So I cancel the order, pre-order it again and now I have release date delivery on Rayman. lol wtf...

How much larger are the Vita games when compared to the PSP? I'm leaning towards getting the 3G model with the 8GB card, but then again, I'll probably never use 3G (Have a 4G hotspot) and could put the money towards a 16GB card instead. I'd want the larger storage capacity if the games are considerably larger.

any recommendations from amazon on one that would work?

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0046TJG1U/?tag=neogaf0e-20

would that one work?

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001QLFNCC/?tag=neogaf0e-20
That would probably work fine. The PSPGo's memory card is the M2 card so you need to get an adapter that supports it.

The largest Vita game so far is 3.3gb or so. The PSP UMD maxed out at 1.8gb. I'm sure eventually we will see Vita games over 4gb.

I switched my pre-order to go with a Wifi + 32.

Uncharted is one of the largest games at around 2.7 GB, so I could hold roughly 10 Uncharted sized titles on the Vita. Good enough for me.

I imagine most games will be half of the size of Uncharted though, some significantly less (PSN titles).

I've found a few people (4) I think, but no gifts.

Off the top of my head:
Gravity Daze/Rush
Ragnarok Odyssey
Dragon's Crown
Persona 4 The Golden
Tales of Innocence R
Ys 4
Final Fantasy X
LittleBigPlanet

Is LBP Vita some kind of updated combination of LBP2 and 1 or is it just LBP 1?

It's a brand new game - at least that's what they said.

It's definitely closer to LBP2 based on the stuff they've shown. They even said it would have all the LBP2 tools.

Thanks. I enjoyed LBP 1 but never got around to play LBP 2. I'll have to remember to check it out closer to release.

To make it clear, this is an extension of 2. Nothing was necessarily taken right from LBP1 development. They went from 2 and all those ideas to a new game made for Vita based on those foundations but with unique touch mechanics. It definitely looks like a killer app.

I don't know. The likes of Shinobido, Dynasty Warriors and Ninja Gaiden will probably have a very limited print run. If I hadn't bought Samurai Warriors on 3DS release day I could have never got it because it just seemed to disappear afterwards.

I didn't know Samurai Warriors vanished that fast, wow!

I'm thinking if there's 2 or 3 games that will come anywhere near close to becoming hard to find later, the ones Cookie listed are probably the ones with the best chance of that happening, so I'll at least try to get those 3 now and if the other 7 games I want have to wait then that's fine. The really big name games like Uncharted and all of those will be around for a while. I know anything published by Koei has had very limited print runs so if I want Ninja Gaiden and Dynasty Warriors I should get those relatively soon. Thanks for the replies!

Sometimes I think you moved to Florida to work for Sony as some kind of stealth PR guy or something. :P

It's only a matter of time before you're ending your posts with...

©2012 SCEA PlayStation Vita™ is a registered trademark of Sony Corporation.

Final Fantasy X is coming to Vita? In what form and when? Fuck i'm runming out of reasons for NOT getting a Vita at launch lol.

No idea when yet. I think it'll just be like the HD collections on the PS3... except it's only one game.

I'm really interested in DW:Next, but I need to hear impressions. I love the Musou games, but I don't want to buy DW7 again. I need to know it's sufficiently different and we're not losing features.

Wondering how much of a discount (if any) Vita games will get if you are a PS Plus member.

Don't have a PS Plus membership myself, but if there's a significant discount for Vita games, I may end up signing up because I will buy quite a few games every year...but I guess it would have to be nearly a $5-10 discount to break even.

It'll be a PS2 remastered game. Out for Vita and PS3.

At the most probably another 10% for 20% off total. Funny enough it still wouldn't be cheaper than some retail prices.

Having played the 3DS the past couple of weeks or so, I'm extremely glad Sony didn't go with a 3D screen. It's just not ready, yet. I love the concept, and it works really well, but only when you're exactly head on, and I hate that. When I'm playing, I tend to move the device around a little bit, and I didn't notice that until I got the 3DS, but I end up getting annoyed because I can't keep it perfectly still at a certain distance away. The effective viewing angle for 3D is about 10 degrees, if that. I'm ecstatic that Sony instead went with a really high quality OLED screen.

I am curious from what distribution enter Amazon will ship my FEB bundle. So far all the other Vita stuff has been shipped out of Phoenix AZ. But if the ship if from Vernon CA it won't get marked as shipped until Tuesday evening. Argh... the wait!

I have a question for you Vita guys (and gals):

I just ordered a Wifi Vita unit but I am not sure of which size memory card to buy.

What size would be best if I am:

1. Buying physical carts for all games at retail

2. Plan on downloading a few PSN titles (as well as some PSP titles)

Do you think you'll get annoyed with deleting games to make room? I'd probably go with either 8 or 16gb if I were you.

Sorry if this was posted already, but the New York Times has an article detailing SCEA's Vita marketing:

The cost of the marketing campaign at $50 million is “the largest platform launch in terms of marketing investment we’ve ever had,” Mr. Koller said.

Sony worked with Deutsch, part of the Interpublic Group of Companies, to create the campaign that includes television commercials, billboards, retail partnerships, digital banner ads and a significant presence in social media. The theme of the campaign, “Never Stop Playing,” will be featured on many of the ads as will the Twitter-influenced hashtag, #gamechanger.

Jason Elm, the executive vice president and creative director at Deutsch, described the campaign’s audience as “very socially plugged in, mobile, out and about, both physically and on the Internet.” Using the Twitter hashtag on the ads would help aggregate all of the conversations people were having about the product in one place, Mr. Elm said.

While the hashtag conversations will be organic, the company will also buy promoted Twitter posts that will direct consumers to the device’s Web site, playstation.com/psvita, where they can learn more about the product and make a purchase. Facebook users will find a tab dedicated to the Vita on the PlayStation page and how-to videos about the device.

The commercials for the campaign were shot in three days in Buenos Aires and were meant to show how the Vita “affects you socially,” Mr. Elm said. In one spot, the male character is using his Vita to continue playing a game during his commute that he started before leaving for work. Another spot highlights the augmented reality features of the console with a narrator explaining how “the world is your next battleground,” while a third spot shows a man playing games against other people he sees in the street.

“Gaming is no longer playing alone in a basement by one person with one machine; it’s all networked,” Mr. Elm said. To reach its core consumer, the company will show the commercials during television programs like “The Simpsons,” “South Park” and “Tosh.0,” the popular Comedy Central show, and during N.B.A and N.C.A.A. basketball games.

Online users will see banner ads across 26 Web sites like Yahoo, ESPN, CNN and YouTube. Billboards and wallscapes will be seen in cities like New York, Chicago and San Francisco and radio ads for the Vita will be broadcast on the Howard Stern show on Sirius Radio during March Madness.

Probably 8-16 GB card or so would be sufficient for that purpose, I'd imagine.

Really depends on how many PSP titles you anticipate. If it's a LOT, then maybe even 32 GBer

Well, remember that you don't need to keep everything you'll download installed on the device at all times. I would think an 8GB would be enough for your case. That is assuming by "PSN titles", you mean PSN titles and not full games available on PSN.
If you plan to buy any full Vita games on PSN, get at least 16GB. Vita games are pretty big.

But with that said, I'm pretty much in the same category as you are. I plan to buy all physical for full games and a few PSN only titles. But I have a 32GB card anyway... because I'm wasteful.
