Question: What Post-launch Vita game/s are people most looking forward to?

At the moment just Unit 13. Or are you talking about outside the launch window, like titles later in the year?

The few games released just after launch day (Gravity Rush, Unit 13 etc) combined with the launch day titles, there is enough to keep me interest for the next couple of months. This time round I am purposely not going to go overboard with snapping everything up on launch day. I have two titles coming free with my bundle, WipEout 2048 and Uncharted and I ordered two games from the UK which are Ridge Racer and Shinobido 2 (both should arrive about a week after launch).

Combine what I get on launch day with what will be available on SEN (Is Motorstorm RC a launch day DD game?) I'll be a very happy chappy. I also have a lot of catching up to do with PSP titles too so may get a couple there too.

Speaking of which (there was a video posted about 6-8 pages back) there was a video of some PSP games running, Burnout Legends, GTA Stories etc, is anyone else impressed with how great they look on the Vita? I don't just mean screen clarity, but some of the titles really show off how great they look graphically too. It's almost (slight exageration) like comparing the jump from SD to HD. I'd love to see a video of Ultimate Ghosts n Goblins running on the Vita.

$50 million for a marketing campaign of launching a new product seems awfully low, especially when you consider that Microsoft spent 10 times that on Kinect.

And I'm sure every year the Call of Duty ad campaign is in the hundreds of millions.

Probably hoping that word of mouth carries the Vita through the summer, and then will ramp up marketing for the holiday season (hopefully with a few killer apps in tow).

That's true.

If Vita gets a price drop to $199 in the fall, with Call of Duty, they really need to put most of their marketing efforts during that time frame.

Microsoft has way way WAY deeper pockets than Sony does though.

I have a question for you Vita guys (and gals):

I just ordered a Wifi Vita unit but I am not sure of which size memory card to buy.

What size would be best if I am:

1. Buying physical carts for all games at retail

2. Plan on downloading a few PSN titles (as well as some PSP titles)

An 8 GB card should be sufficient for you.

Hot Shots will come on Wednesday if I select one day shipping. There's like, no release date shipping yo. I waited toooooooooo long to order this hot diggitydawg. I really hope Amazon fixes this!

Got my hands on a demo unit. Fantastic piece of hardware.

Will be interesting to see how it performs. The mobile market is just intense right now. So many great phones coming out every month with a library of games that is getting better an better, fantastic tablets, the 3DS, and then cheaper versions of the DS and PSP with huge libraries....

You really can't lose by choosing any of these options.

i'd say this actually shows how much microsoft went completely nuts with kinect advertising. i believe their budget was way above average.

While it was way above average, it certainly paid off for them a lot. Though I'm sure however much they spent on that Cirque du Soliel show probably wasn't necessary.

Unless persona 5... vita exclusive :D

Does anyone know if all my comics from the PSP going to work fine day 1 on Vita?

In the original PS vita conference the OS showed a comic app. I dont know if it will be launching day one tho.

Is there any way to reset the bubble thingies to their default positions/pages?
I was messing around with it and I completely forgot where everything used to be...

Aye ZOE HD is a good choice too.

LBP is definitely on my radar too, but if they just port the same LBP2 game over, it would be a totally missed opportunity. Vita LBP should be simpler because of the smaller screen, easier and more social. Still looking forward to the reveal.

I think its already been shown to be a completely different game being made by different devs as well.

They should have had no advertising and just dropped the price of the Vita by $50. They're probably not going to sell a million a year at $250 and lots of incomprehensible, possibly offensive ads (just going by their past ads for the PSP) are not going to help

Just curious...what do you exactly lose when you factory reset vita?

Doesn't the games and wallpapers get saved to the memory card? So even if you factory reset vita(not the memory card), if you insert the memory card with saved account with wallpapers and games, etc., then would it just show up automatically? Or would you have to redo all the icon layouts/wallpapers and stuff like that?

Cause I will probably be using 2 memory cards with 2 different accounts, so when I switch the the accounts(which requires to factory reset the vita), I don't want to set up everything again and again.

Same here. Demo unit at GameStop. Played a bit of Uncharted. Very impressive graphically, but I didn't have enough time to get used to the analog sticks, so I had some control issues. I dont think it's an actual qproblem with the sticks, they just feel a bit different.

Threw together a quick ModNation track just so I could germanfeel for the back and front touch screen. See,s like a great hook, a better gimmick in the long termnthan 3d.

Was hard to judge screen quality with the glare and not being able to adjust brightness. Volume was also all the way down on the demo model and couldn't be turned up. WTF?

Not buying at launch, but it is a nice piece of hardware, and I'll be keeping my eye out for a good time pick it up, when the library is full and maybe the price drops. This year the IRS will be keeping our tax return, so there is no cash for a new, unproven platform in this family now.

Plenty of PSP games to play in the meantime. Just picked up Persona 2 new in GameStop for $20, with the soundtrack.

If you just want to know the default location of the standard apps, perhaps the promo screenshots can be a good reference.
But a reset button would be so much easier :(

I now will be take a screenshot of the default setup when I get mine. :)
If only I thought of that!

I just put my Vita away so I don't want to turn it on again. But if I remember, you lose like all your settings. Network, any customized stuff like brightness, volume, date/time, etc.
Wallpapers, customized pages/bubbles would all be reset.
You would still have images, music, games, whatever on your memory card. You just have to put it all back up again and move the bubbles back to where you want them.

Question: What Post-launch Vita game/s are people most looking forward to?

Most definitely Gravity Rush/Daze :! If anything Rockstar was announced, I'd probably be bouncing off walls! Hot Shots is coming from Amazon tomorrow, and I imported Uncharted. Thinking Virtua Tennis, but it seems a bit steep (as console versions are $20 cheaper/ Always been more of a Topspin +Hotshots Tennis/Mario Tennis GBC! player)... Also kind of/sort of double dip on Mortal Kombat!

EDIT: Question- anyone go Digital on UFC 2010? How is mapping the ground game to the right stick?! It should be glorious! (Only have UMD...)

But a reset button would be so much easier :(

Is there one for iOS/Android/Metro/Mac OSX/Windows ?

Personally if they have time, they should focus on that multitasking fix, and refine the UI further. I remember you posted about the need for sorting the apps by their names. I think features like those or a search desktop function will be more commonly used.

Two quick ?s:

1 - Does Near work in stand-by / sleep mode? (which is the official name for this feature?) I hope I don't have to have Near on, and the Vita on, while going out and about to receive gifts. Can it run in the background while playing something?
2 - What would happen if you set up your Vita with a memory card, power off, take out the mem card, and turn back on? I want to know if it's possible to watch the intro movie again without having to reset everything.
