For a member named "Analytical", you sure are an idiot.

For someone who's name was Analytical, you sure weren't.

As long as Lin doesn't make a big deal about his Christianity and doesn't act like an asshole about it (like David Tyree opposing gay marriage in NY), it makes no difference to me.

why would you care, or how would it even affect you, if he does make a big deal about his Christianity?

All eyes on Jeremy Lin --> Makes a huge speech about gays being bad --> Fans follow and agree.

a gay person would be affected. And a non-gay person would judge him.

did he do that?

As long as a person doesn't go out of his way to denounce people or start tebowing all over the place, his religion shouldn't matter.

It saddens me that there are people out there who would actually undermine his accomplishments just because he is a Christian.

*shakes head*

I am very interested in his development... hopefully he can maintain and even better, improve!, his level of performance. I hope he can achieve big things.

A Harvard grad like Lin wouldn't be dumb enough to call out gays in New York City, absolutely no chance. Tebow and John Rocker have the brains of fucking cinderblocks, they would do something like that.

is this a real life ?

man, internet really overly sensitive about religion

He's a ball player ffs, discuss about his height, his shoe, his sharp knee or his smelly armpit, why bother with his religion?

why would a gay person be affected by what lin says?
you have issues if you let some nba player affect you like that

Because if I'm assuming that most of his fans would agree with whatever he says on public. Its his social power that I'm talking about not himself.

Anyways I'm going to end this, getting out of hand, especially when no one understood what i meant.

Stanford is full of Republicans.

If you wish to have a good liberal education you go to Cal.

If you want to become the next John Yoo you go to Stanford.

;)

I can't tell who's trolling anymore.

Anyway that Jeremy Lin, pretty good! Too bad he's going to get so many haters thanks to the media.

The New York media to be specific. They are pushing Lin in everyone's face, hard not to expect people to start hating Lin.

After 7 wins and several personal record broken, people are still hating like crazy. Not everyone is caught in this hype, but seriously, the guy won the game for Knicks and the first thing they wanna talk about is his turnovers.

yeah, this is just like when ramon sessions appeared on sports illustrated 4 years ago when he averaged nearly 20 apg over 5 games for the bucks... or when mike james got serious media coverage when he was averaging 25 ppg, 7 apg on great percentages for a couple weeks back in 05/06. o wait, neither of those guys got much media attention at all.

I am just bitter because I've been saying all along that Lin is a decent player who deserves to be in this league, but he's gone from being totally irrelevant to being hailed as a superstar.... just insanity. /basketball hipster

e: add Darren Collison to the list. guy barely gets any minutes until Chris Paul is injured. Suddenly he's scoring 20+ ppg and getting around 10 apg in his rookie season. Totally on fire. People start saying the Hornets should get rid of Paul and look to a Collison future. even though he got some media coverage, it wasn't nearly to this extent.

Raymond Failton averaging 18/9 in D'Antoni's offense even though he's a fat loser who sucks at basketball.
