Throat. Good luck in your current fight to the death!

Nads, throat, knee cap, depending on what open shot you have. Good luck.

Edit: If you survive the tussle, study this video for future instruction.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHL2Cpb1618

Remember however that if you choose the throat there is a risk that you might kill them. Far less of a risk if you choose one of the other two options.

Solar plexus is an option too but has a smallish margin of error.

However, unless you are cornered and have no option but to fight for you life, running away would be the safer option.

I believe Bruce Lee once said that only an idiot willingly chooses to fight. Even with fighting experts there is always the chance that it can go badly.

I've been posting for a little bit and see that there are a good number of banned peoples here on Gaf. I guess the easy answer is: Breaking the rules.
How exactly do the majority of banned members get banned?

Is it a "Pick 'em off, nice and easy" conspiracy to take over the world? Or just simple rule breaks? And if so, which rule(s)?

If you're curious, click on that user's name on the left then select "Find more posts by...". Look at their most recent posts. Generally it seem to be for being inflammatory against other members.

Anyone else get stuff in their recently viewed items list on Amazon that they didn't actually view?

This started happening to me last week and I freaked out because I thought someone hacked my account so I changed my password and things were ok until today and now there's a whole bunch of new stuff in that list that I never looked at.
There are browser add-ons that will look up things on Amazon by themselves (say a price comparison add-on comparing the current product page with the product's Amazon page) and Amazon records that activity as human activity. Not likely if it's things you haven't looked up.

Interesting. Thanks for the insight. I'm usually not "fucking annoying" (at least I wouldn't believe so). I'll probably check the other option as well, to get a feel for over-the-line remarks/posts.

Giving the FAQ part of the Forum a careful read is always a good start as you will find Mod guidance in there on general do's and don'ts in these parts.

However, from what I can see there are some things that are pretty much insta-bans e.g. racist/homophobic language, boasting about using Adblock on GAF etc. Then there are plenty of other things that could lead to a ban and are generally inadvisable e.g. using tired memes, telling another poster to shut up etc but the ban hammer might come down for those who don't necessarily break any 'rules' but they get banned anyway e.g. completely de-railing threads.

Frankly, keep your nose clean while a Junior because a ban whilst a Junior is a perma-ban and generally don't be a jerk, would be my advice :).

You'll soon get an idea of how it all works here, I'm sure.

Thanks. I'm enjoying posting here and that's the last thing I'm looking for. Will keep in mind :)

Pleasure :). I'm only recently out of Juniorship myself but I lurked here for years so fortunately was pretty clued up on the do's and don'ts. Not that I would be prone to doing anything worthy of getting a ban but you just never know! I'm really enjoying posting here too :).

Because everyone takes everything super duper serious over there. Lots of things are verboten. Even I feel like I'm on thin ice when I post there (which is one of the reasons I dont).

Well there is a lot of that, I would agree. I've survived it so far without any issues at all I'm happy to say however :).

Oh, and if you see a big controversial argument going on (lesbian couple inhibiting sons hormones, gay marriage, religion, political shit flinging) don't post in the thread, theres a chance you could get banned for continuing a pointless argument.

The lesbian couple thing was because nobody read the goddamn article and were getting all outraged over something that wasn't happening.

Gmail question!

Is it possible to alter settings, so that when replying, my signature appears directly beneath my reply, instead of at the very bottom underneath the quoted original mail I'm replying to?

I'm in a phase where I'm sending like a hundred e-mails a day and it's getting annoying to be cutting/repasting all the time. #firstworldproblems

Thanks!

Didn't know where else to post this since I'm a junior and couldn't make a thread. My mother basically got called by a phishing service and gave them remote access to one of our computers. I luckily walked in before he had her enter in financial information. I went to town ripping every cord out of everything. Every computer is off, router removed, etc. Running scans and scrubbing machines one by one, buying a new router, calling all financial institutions.

I've tried so hard to teach her about all the dangers of the Internet so I can't believe she fell for a random guy calling and saying your computer has problems. She doesn't really understand how completely f****d we could be, but my dad is basically having a breakdown.

I've heard of identity protection services like life-lock, and I'd like to get something like that set up for them, and potentially myself, but are they actually legit companies or worth the cost? It sounds very tv infomercial from what I remember. Any advice welcome.

Sorry for two questions in one day but my 8gb Kingston Data Traveler has suddenly stopped working for some reason. When I pop it in my computer and click on the drive it prompts me to format the flash drive. When I format it, it seems to be working again and I can put files on it but then when I take the drive out and put it back in its asking to format again. Any idea whats going or how to fix it?

This is what it looks like if its any help:

It's broken.

Also, isn't that just a standard USB drive?

There's no protection from ignorance. You have to get it into your mother's head that letting someone access your computer is like letting someone go through your bank statements and stuff.

If she can't understand that no matter how hard you try, then you should either get someone who can teach it, or she shouldn't have internet access at all.

LifeLock specifically has a really shitty history, by the way. They've just been fined $12 mill for what amounts to false promises. That's what you should expect all around.

Edit: Note that there's a limit to the amount of babysitting you can do. Even legally. This can even bite you in the ass if you're unlucky. So be warned in that regard.

Thanks for the confirmation on the identity services, I assumed they were selling fake peace of mind. I thought we had a good system for severely limiting her Internet access and rules to avoid phishing, but we obviously will, as you said, need to consider a more permanent solution.

There was a thread a wee while ago where a few replies used a weird font/symbol that overlapped other people's posts. Anyone any idea what it is? I can't remember the thread for the life of me!

It was a Cthulu thread if that helps any.

I've got some schmutz in the screen of my PSP 2000. No clue how it got there, but it's clearly in between the outer screen and the actual game picture. What are my chances of opening the fucker up and extracting it without destroying my PSP and/or adding additional schmutz?

Shaving your armpits. Does it really help against BO etc? I was under the impression that the hair keeps the sweat in one place and not all over. It kinda feels like I'm sweating MORE when there's no hair there (which makes no sense).

Your deodorant/antiperspirant probably has more to do with it than shaving. With no hair around to absorb sweat, it shouldn't linger as long, but you do feel it more because it has nowhere to go.

My electric oven (new to my flat) keeps tripping the flat's sockets. I assume its the circuit breaker kicking in.

It is a very old oven/cooker unit, stoves work fine on it. Besides it developing a fault, is there anything else that could be wrong with it? If not then I'll be informing my land lady that she needs to get me a new unit :D

If... I wanted a body... to go away, anyone know how to do that?

No, I'm not serious.
I hear the best thing to do is feed them to pigs. You got to starve the pigs for a few days, then the sight of a chopped-up body will look like curry to a pisshead. You gotta shave the heads of your victims, and pull the teeth out for the sake of the piggies' digestion. You could do this afterwards, of course, but you don't want to go sievin' through pig shit, now do you? They will go through bone like butter. You need at least sixteen pigs to finish the job in one sitting, so be wary of any man who keeps a pig farm. They will go through a body that weighs 200 pounds in about eight minutes. That means that a single pig can consume two pounds of uncooked flesh every minute. Hence the expression, "as greedy as a pig".

Makes sense, thanks :) After three hours of dancing, hair or not doesn't really matter :lol

Any useful online guides for Object Oriented Programming in Java? Im sort of getting used to it but some of the concepts for me are hard to understand like the use of constructors and methods and etc.

I'm trying to figure out the best way to hook up my Android phone to my car stereo. I've heard good things about iSimple products, but I'm wondering if I should just buy a new radio with an aux input instead. Any thoughts?

The easiest most hassle free way of connecting it would be through an aux input, so if you have the means to buy a decent stereo by all means do that. I had a terrible time before I just went with that.

Why do girlfriends/wives still allow their boyfriends/husbands to take naked pictures of them? Do they still not know that every picture of a naked girlfriend/wife ends up on the Internet for me to see?

How many different women in the world have naked pictures or videos of themselves on the Internet?? Billions?
