I stuck through all of Kimi ni Todoke for
Chizuru x Ryu
but I probably wouldn't have dropped it if not for this. It was slow-paced, but that's inherent in the genre.

Overall I'd say Maid Sama is better, but I still enjoyed it quite a bit.

Heh, that's basically what the manga has become now.

Also, Maid Sama. :(

So I've seen, which I'm ok with.
Sawako and Kazehaya are a cute couple, but a little too awkward for me. I have no doubt they will end up together regardless, but I'll enjoy reading their relationship, or seeing it if they make another season, when they are actually able to hold down a conversation.

Also, Maid Sama. :(

I think the mangaka is bored with that relationship, but doesn't want to end the book. So, we get what we get.

Maid Sama is great :(
It's not. It's female wish fulfilment at its worst. It's one werewolf away from being Twilight. :(

I just watched Love Hina again for the umpteenth time, will probably be the only anime I watch for the next 5 years...so good.

A much better manga than an anime, though the songs are still godlike for some reason I can't really explain other than I first heard them when I was 12 so they probably influenced my brain somehow.

Still, my fucking collection is sitting in a box somewhere in the states waiting to be shipped over :<

Not surprising, though it's always been painfully awkward. Anyway, I'm happy with the other developments XD

The improbability of Usui doesn't mean it's not an awesome anime. YMMV but it's probably my favorite shojo rom-com.

EDIT: :(

Honestly, my problem is that no matter how awesome the girl is, she still needs the guy to save her.

In fact, it's Sawako's agency that makes Kimi ni Todoke a good show for me. It's possible to pine for a guy without having him white knight you all the time. Like in real life!

Not always! She
takes down two male stalkers who bind/gag her and threaten her with a stun gun all on her own. Usui comes to help, but doesn't need to.

I get your point though, but I guess I've never seen this as a problem.

I'd rather watch Brandy and firehawk make out than see another episode of Love Hina.
Branduil meekly caressed his partner's forehead, getting a strand of hair away from his calm sight. The tightness of their embrace was as tender as a mollusk's down side, and their sweat glistened under the moonlight like miniature pearls hidden in the deepest sands of the ocean.

"Turn it off" Branduil said, playfully taking Firehawk's hand away from the keyboard. "They can wait. It's not like they won't recommend School Days to that poor junior by themselves."

Firehawk blushed brightly, the blood on his cheeks threatening to burst through his skin. He was overwhelmed by his companion's sudden declaration -and his staunch determination to get closer to him certainly made matters worse. Long gone were his forlorn memories of the times he had spent with Unknown Soldier. This moment the universe was around him, and his only window to the outside world had been taken by such entirety.

"Just," Firehawk paused for a minute, thinking his next words very thoroughly. When his mouth finally opened it let out a voice with a dejected inflection. "Just be gentle."

I really liked Maid-sama, I blame it for helping make Maid outfits more popular, and who wouldn't want someone like Usui? In the manga, there's a bonus chapter where
all the characters are the opposite gender
and Usui is just as cool as ever!

The general theme being that she needs to be saved, because however awesome she is, he is just that much more awesome! It's like Special A in that regard, actually.

I don't even know if it's a problem (or if I think it's a problem), because girls want what they want I suppose. It's the same as the hundreds of harem shows that guys watch anyway. Maybe I just like the exceptions.

Usui's kind of a dick though. Again, not to compare the two, but Kazehaya restrains himself from being the white knight because he knows that constantly saving the girl is not the way to actually help her in the long run.

Also, gender flipped Maid-sama makes me think that Usui would be a magical girlfriend at that point. :p

No, it's a valid point and I can see how you'd feel that way. I didn't much like Special A, but that was more for the elongated limbs and turgid voice acting.

While Maid Sama is certainly everything a girl would want, it's got a lot in there for guys too. It's funny (very funny, actually), has some interesting characters and one of anime's better tsundere protagonists Misaki Ayuzawa. The romance, when it comes, is well done too and even better in the manga.

Well, I finished it despite myself, so I must have gotten something out of it... if only subconsciously.

Of course, shoujo as a whole is rare these days, so beggars can't be choosers.

I really ought to watch Kimi ni Todoke only because I need a new well animated anime.

I promised myself I would never watch it because it sounds like torture.

You seriously need to finish this little story you've started. Just make sure you have me appear there at the end for a yandere rampage.

i've never seen or read anything to do with love hina and i intend to keep it that way till i'm dead in a ditch somewhere.

Neo Tokyo

This was a rather surreal collection of beautifully animated ~15 minute shorts directed by, Rintaro (Labyrinth labyrinthos), Yoshiaki Kawajiri (The Running Man) and last but not least Katsuhiro Otomo (The Construction Suspension Order).

Suspension Order > Labyrinth > Running Man

Episode 2 when?

Rinne no Lagrange 7

This episode was a little bit underwhelming for me. There's some stuff shown about Muginami's past, there's the revelation that while Lan is the most boring character in the show, she's a bit of an exibitionist, which makes her more likable for me... oh, and the shocking revelation that alien dude turns his breakfast into a shit before eating it, ewww.
What isn't there, is some nice fight between giant robots piloted by cute girls.

Arjuna 04:

I knew that this was going to be an episode on
the evil of pesticides
from the moment I saw the garden. It looks like I'm finally to the part where every moment is preachy. If we're already at
promoting a vegan hermit lifestyle
now, I have high hopes for the levels of environmental extremism I'll witness in subsequent episodes. I want more crazy shit like
Juna's amazing corny vision of healthy vegetables floating around her as she stares agape in wonder and enlightment
. Don't let me down, Kawamori.

School Days 04:

Why couldn't I have a friend like Sekai in high school? Kotonoha's
deflowering
is imminent. This has to be close to the good part.

Blood-C 04:

It looks like I've made it to the point where
Saya begins "protecting" people
. You could ask this about countless anime characters with special powers, but why
doesn't Saya just go beast mode on her enemies to begin with? Several people have already died because she uses her power as a last resort
. She's pretty terrible at her job.

Pfft, he's clearly a rip-off of Baron Harkonnen, not Jabba the Hutt.
i have to admit i've never seen/read dune but after a bit of googling he certainly seems like a much better fit.

It's a pretty good book and also reveals just how much of an unoriginal hack George Lucas is.

Well, George Lucas is an unimaginative hack but many things in science fiction have borrowed from Dune so slagging on Star Wars just for that is somewhat unnecessary. There are many other things you can slag on Star Wars for, especially in the terrible Prequel Trilogy.

True, but Tatooine really is just Dune with the serial numbers filed off. You know, if planets had serial numbers.
