Is it Liverpool or Stoke ? WHO CAN SAY

Probably Stoke. Liverpool's 9 couldn't hit a barnyard door.

"Arsenal have given Arsene Wenger their unequivocal backing and will give the beleaguered Frenchman £55million to rebuild his ailing squad."

lol, £55m. That squad needs £155m spent on it, never mind 55. Wouldn't be surprised if a good chunk of that money gets used to make RVP a blockbuster offer to try to make him stay.

Hoping for a Liverpool Everton final in the cup. Don't like our draw vs stoke, was a dire game in the league against them.

Yep, that final would be great. However,I am not confident. There are lot of hurdles we have to go through. Sunderland team is a scray opposition, and if we beat them, then I will be more confident. Before then, let us not speak of a final.

I'm innumerate, so I went for classics and literature.

Nicky Butt says Cleverley is a much more technically proficient player than he was.

I'm not particularly good at maths but I find Economics to be an alright subject to get into. Except on days like today when I'm sat in front of a wall of figures and economic gibberish. I think econometrics was designed specifically to mess with students.

Nicky Butt was a decent enough player but he never was the most technically proficient. He couldn't pass like Scholes or battle like Keane. This is why he never nailed down a starting spot at United imo.

Same. And the shit thing is I'm going to have to buy a ticket to the Stoke game to secure a Wembley Semi ticket, should we get there, and after going to the league game in Jan that seems like a bad idea.

I joked that attending that league game should've qualified you for a Carling Cup Final ticket.

So I have decided that we will beat Everton as everyone seems to think its a given they will win. No Donovan or Pienaar while we should be back to full strength and have a referee that won't get them out of jail.

Oh yes.

*The available funds you can use will be less than this figure, since something something something.

10 million went on his transfer, 1 million went to his agent, he earns 2.5mil a year and we signed him up for 4 years so thats another 10 million and he gets a match appearance bonus of 5k a game so chalk up another 100k at least every season and we've already spent 21.1 million of the 55 million available.

Brilliant.

I remember a post like this from an Arsenal fan regarding a transfer. I can't remember if it was in the past seasons football thread or that site they set up after their thread was locked.

55 million, thats about 3 players at best.

Seems like Bayern is really interested in Favre, probably in 2013 because I don't see Jupp resigning and Jupp being fired is even less likely.

I hope Gladbach can give him some cool new signings (Beister to Gladbach? I can see it happen), so he stays there. Bayern could actually do well with a good coach lol

That money is probably dependent on the sale of RVP, knowing the Arsenal board.

Favre should never never never go to Bayern. He built Gladbach with his own hands and can lead this team to many CLs in a row. Plus, he can basically ask Max Eberl for anything as long as he stays there.

All is going according the plan mwahahaha
It wouldn't surprise me if Jupp decides to "retire" after this season.

Joke of a football club. 55 million? shove that money up your jacksie kroenke.

It's sad when arsenal has the second richest sugar daddy in usmanov but he's frozen out at board level.

fuck you stan, gazidis and ofcourse that muppet who manages us.

They could get a lot of good players for 55m, you guys are too brain washed with the Chelsea/Man City/Real Madrid prices.

We got Shaqiri + Dante for less than 15m euros.

FFP means rich clubs will stay dominant due to higher income while lower clubs will stay lower.

Seems like a flawed system to me.

Barcelona, Man City, Juventus, etc they all are in red numbers. So is not that easy, almost all the teams will have to cut they transfer/salaries budget.

growth steroids.....seriously when was the last time messi got sideline through injury? he seems to play every barca games, the full 90 minutes..

And he's not that big either but he never goes down even when running through 10 players.

Those growth steroids must be awesome shit.

You can say a lot of good things about Favre but how did he build Gladbach? He didn't buy anyone that is starting. He took over a good squad and got/gets the best out of it.

I'm not sure if he stays, I'd say it depends on the players Gladbach buys in summer. If there are no proper replacements, then I can see him get out of there and join Bayern.

Just watched highlights of yesterday's games:

Stoke done well, they're all bastards but they know how to put in performances. Losing to Valencia was no shame.

Tottenham were dire but at least they're experimenting in games where there's little risk of them actually losing. I expect a 3-0 win at home now they've seen Stevanage aren't exactly pushovers.

Brighton defending was comical. Liverpool should start with Gerrard/Suarez/Carroll as often as they can, he looked pretty good.

Barcelona were magnificent. I've said a few times I miss 2008/09 Barca; they weren't as good but they were like Madrid of now, fast and direct on the counter with Eto'o and Henry. Last night they played as well as I have seen since then. 30 shots against a great team, jeez.

Madrid were pretty pedestrian the other night to be fair, but they didn't need to step it up. Ronaldo will be pissed at Messi. And laughable red card.

Bilbao got outplayed for the whole first half; Sid Lowe's column today is about Malaga's shortcomings but I thought they were really good in the first half. Bielsa won it again though, really hope we get them in the EL.

Inter lol, Napoli and Roma yay. It'll be interesting to see if Roma do improve what players they buy to mirror this Barca style even more.

Juve-Milan should be awesome.

I've always wondered about that.

No idea what steroids he took or what effect they had but he has some seriously stunning physical attributes for a guy a small as him.

I think he did. OK, guys like Eberl do their job extremely well compared to say, Preetz.
But if you check the numbers, in his one year at Gladbach, Favre won 66 pts in an 18 teams league. The year before, Gladbach got only 28 points without him.

And high profile dudes like Simons and Dante were already there. Neustädter and Reus also.
ter Stegen and Herrmann weren't though.

What a fantastic match yesterday....Messi was excellent from the first minutes, and except for the shitty deffense in the Valencia goal, Barça was at its maximum level. Let's see if they can mantain that level until the end of the season!

A truly fantastic game to watch.

He won't be as good as Nani or Valencia, but I'll be happy enough if he can find that early season form again.
Yep he was good in his first month. Hopefully he can reach those levels again and stay near enough to them. A good option to have for sure. He has just come back from a long time out so his performances at Chelsea and Ajax will have been because of that in part at least.
