Well, that was certainly a tear jerker.
WTF at Mamoru torturing the hell out of Usagi though
, I thought this was supposed to be a light hearted show!

The ending sequence where
the Sailors don't know each other was mad sad, if that would have ended up being the actual finale of the series, I would be so depressed right now lol.

But thankfully, it isn't. Now onto Sailor Moon R~

Hmm...
To watch Macross Plus or Project Hades Zeorymer next... I think I'll probably watch PHZ, in case it leaves a bad taste in my mouth, so I can have MP save me.

Dang it, hurry up Wednesday, I need to watch another Puella Magi Madoka Magicka.
You could always just watch Macross Plus (OVA) and then just move on to something else! Well, that would be my advice anyway.

Not everyone receives such a budget either.
Another important factor could be the work itself. They are professionals, but in my opinion you can't expect the same level of, lets say, inspiration or implication on every commissioned project. I couldn't fault them for what could be considered 'minor works' (without disrespecting those) on someone's carrier.

No, it was totally Artycalis' fault! But it's cool, all is forgiven bros.
Cool then! Thanks...

Hopefully my purchasing choices will confuse the Amazon bot that collects all the data on my purchases. I don't imagine you find people buying these two things at once:

and

5410-sword_for_truth_large.jpg

but really they make for the perfect combination.

Kind of want to see the Blood-C blurays just to see how well the gore is animated
I mean it must be pretty special to be the selling point

I said I was sorry, jeez.

Megumi Nakajima's next album, out in early March, apparently has a nearly six minute version of Try Unite! Looking forward to it.

I only watched the anime. I thought the point was that they would have to remain
celibate
?

The anime nevers make it explicit. And I realise I've kind of made up the bit about WHY
the reset button is there. I mean, it's obviously there because CLAMP are screwing with the audience who are overidentifying with Hideki, but I don't think the series makes it obvious that it's Icchan's reasoning for the reset button's location.

So I just dominated my way through all 26 episodes of Nadesico and it's counterpart theatrical film in 2 days, and with it being around 10 years since I last saw the crew of the Nadesico go around their antics and whatnot, I decided to kick back and head down nostalgia lane.

And I'm still fond of it, despite the ending of both the film and series not being quite up to par with the high standard the show definitely provides. The characters, the designs, the comedy and the quirks - I'm pretty sure I haven't watched anything in quite the same league; although Lagrange is quickly becoming a favourite of mine in quite a similar vein. Being hungover for the majority of my viewings has made my brain unable to process some aspects of both the film and show, but for what it's worth, the mindfuck parts of the show are not even the most important. It's about the characters, and that is where Nadesico definitely excels.

I would love to see the story of Nadesico continue, as the ending of the film definitely left the door open for more, but I doubt it's going to happen. I can definitely dream though.

Anyone else watched Nadesico recently, or care to say anything?

I don't know that I have a second account!

But I rewatch the show at the moment and I watching episode 22 and will watch the other 4 episodes today.

I heard the manga is unfinished and has a cliffhanger, it this true? I remeber that I read the first 10 volumes and liked the first movie but I stopped reading and watching it for some reason.

It is unfortunately unfinished - duckroll may correct me on this but my understanding is that CLAMP's editors at Asuka (who were publishing X) were concerned with the increasing levels of violence and gore in the manga, and so CLAMP decided rather than compromise their "vision" for it they'd just pull the manga entirely, so it never got finished. CLAMP themselves claim it's to do with the world atmosphere at the time (2001) but I doubt that's the whole story.

The TV series makes up an ending and diverges from the manga after about episode 16 or so but it's still very enjoyable.

Uno Makoto in that time period created some terrible character designs. You can pretty much copy those characters, put them into Gravion, and nothing would be different.

Yeah I admit, the characters do look very generic.

Thankfully the rest of the show isn't terrible ala Gravion.

So... no one uses it? When you have to check multiple pages of a fast moving thread like this one, I find the option pretty useful.
It's easier to keep track of a thread with more frequent stops. It also prevents repeat loading of posts you've already read.

Actually, I'm pretty sure most people use it. At least, that's the impression I get whenever the subject gets brought up.

Demon King Daimao Episodes 1 – 4

Ass, tits, ass, tits, fighting, ass, tits, and more ass. Yo, this show’s pretty good guys.

As a hot blooded male I enjoy some T&A and this show delivers in spades, doesn’t hurt that it’s also pretty damn funny. Wasn’t expecting much out of the English dub but it’s pretty great too.

Karasawa is the best character no contest.

On the flip side, anyone have a favorite composer that they think is underrated?

Definitely Conisch--composed for Kurogane no Linebarrels & the Mardock Scramble movies--(1) (2)

Like Hiroyuki, but much more flamboyant.

Not sure if want. Try Unite isn't exactly cut out for it as is, and I can't see how the song could be formulated to fit without changing it drastically.

Loli Drop (or PapaKiki) 06

-Now I know how to brush a girl's hair. I will try it on my Barbie dolls tonight.
-Dude, what's with the busty, short green hair with glasses female character type I've been seeing lately in so many shows?
-Ugh, drop that pervert from the show already.

Woah!

And I'm looking foward to episode 10 of Lagrange. She will be the voice actor of the dark skinned beauty.

Would you recommend the manga even with the unfinished ending? Or should I just watch the anime?

Also, this episode is probably where all the money saved from that recap episode went. It looks like they're ramping up the production for the run up to the end!

Actually, it's just that this episode was by storyboarded by Shigeyasu Yamauchi, the Casshern Sins guy, and a bunch of the animators that always work with him participated in it.;

Absolutely. But it's also fair to say if they had a decent budget, they wouldn't have to make concessions. You give a guy like Kouhei Tanaka an orchestra, you get one for Akira Senju, and you damn better give one to Yoshihisa Hirano. It's what separates synth-Otani with Kotarou Nakagawa.

So they all worked more and got paid the same?!

It's more like they got better animators for this one episode. The amount of animators involved in an episode or even the amount of work they put in it isn't proportional to the quality of its animation.

Thats right. We can say that at the end it is a combination of several variables, some of them unique of each author...

So why not have the good animators do all the episodes?
That is exploitation! They have lives and other works to attend!

They do it to not hurt the bad animators feelings, obviously.
This is why they can have an opportunity in that industry, great animators wouldn't stand out without regular ones as their support.
