Imagine if Torres scored at least 14 goals this season in the league.

We wouldn't be saying AVB sacked in the morning in Italian!

Paulo will be here till hie's 90.

You mean he isn't already?

I remember when Meireles left us for Chelsea, people were saying we lost our best CM

The Defoe thing is just a dig but as for Sturridge I've seen him get into dangerous positions quite a number of times this season and just fuck it up because he holds onto the ball for far too long.

I agree with you, made a post a page or so back about his showboating in the last 30 seconds that served no purpose other than to stroke his own ego.

You certainly wouldn't go to Arsenal if you want to win something. Not even the Emirates cup.

I still don't think City will win the league this year. Something about the fact that we're still there despite having more casualties than the Falklands did reassures me.

Yeah United have done insanely well. As a City fan I'll be suicidal if we don't, because we're not going to get a chance like this again.

The idea that all the best CFs are selfish is a bit flawed. They should be taking their chances since they should in theory be the team's best finisher.

Cavani's layoff to Lavezzi for the third goal is a good counter example anyway. And just shows why he's a sexy beast of a human being.

Thinking about it, outside of Messi – I realize he plays as a false 9 but he's Barcelona's most central and forward positioned player – is there a better CF in the world than Cavani? Is RvP better?

I think so too. We could really use De Bruyne right now. He'll probably be sent back on loan next season :(

I don't think he will. To be fair to AVB, he can hardly use youth when they aren't there.

If you look at United and forget all injuries, we could play a back four of Jones/Smalling/Evans/Fabio and Rafael/Vidic/Ferdinand/Evra. That's two different back fours with 5 of the players relatively young. We have Welbeck, Pogba coming through, Cleverley... whereas Chelsea really have no one but Lukaku who hasn't had the training the United players have and McEachran. I'm sure Lukaku will feature more next season as will De Bruyne. McEachran needs to start games next year. Romeu/Ramires/Mata/McEachran is potentially a fantastic midfield.

Cavani's magnificent but I don't think he's as important to Napoli as RvP is to Arsenal; Napoli's real strength is the front 3 together. Lavezzi's great as well and Hamsik seems to fly under the radar sometimes, but from what I've seen he's very good.

Falcao's scored quite a few this season, hasn't he? Since Simeone's taken over they've stepped it up as well.

Cavani and Falcao are probably the best proper proper strikers there is at the moment. RvP and Messi are different players. Llorente's great as well.

You can bet your life that Lukaku will get a loan spell next year.

Give me one reason for anyone to pick Arsenal over City.
Progression of a players future? When Van Persie joined us he was a fraction of the player he currently is, same with Fabregas, same with Nasri and the list goes on. What City have over Arsenal is money that they are not afraid to use, that is all. Had Arsenal given Nasri the money he wanted he would still be with us, only a fool would think otherwise.

Cavani, Falcao and Llorente are the holy trinity of old school strikers. They know how to hold the ball and slow the play down, great positioning and movement inside the box, excellent finish... the full package.

Cavani, 56 goals in 78 games. Including hat-tricks on Milan, Juventus and Inter.

Liverpool? Tottenham? Chelsea? Anyone?

Most players would prefer to live in/near London than anywhere else in England. But this isn't about Arsenal vs. City. This is about why you as a Man City fan is totally irrelevant to the club. If the fans didn't turn up, it would not matter.

Well done to Napoli, though to be fair we made it soooooo easy for them. Cannot believe how shitty we have become since drawing Tottenham TWO MONTHS AGO. 4 wins in 14 games! Says it all really. Defenders who RUIN our game, attackers who dont know how to score. Bleh.

What the fuck Chelsea. Honestly. Deserve to go out defending like that.

Agreed 100%.

That was hilariously shit by Chelsea.
I feel bad for Fady.

You are kind dc =) but u r right about chelsea here ~ horrible

napoli looks much faster than chelsea

Not to take any credit from Napoli but these days we make everyone look fast. We are snails.

Falcao is a good shout and is probably a better finisher but I don't think his movement outside the box is quite as good. Cavani moves around the front and left wing and comes deep to hold up the ball - I think his contribution to his team is bigger than Falcao's, who is a bit like Darren Bent. Feed him and he'll finish it off, but don't expect him to do much else, really.

Wilbury, Hamsik is very very good. Any one of Napoli's attacking trio could walk into any team in the world bar Barça, IMO.

But I do think Gary Neville had a point in his commentary regarding their defense. They were static around the back third and I realize absorbing pressure is part of their game but if Chelsea passed better in the final third, they could have leveled out the game.

Either way, looks like I picked a good day to wake up at 5am for some CL. Hurray for that.

Oh, forgot about him. He's certainly in the same class as the three I mentioned, but he's getting old. I should have mentioned him, but eh, I'd like to keep the list populated with younger players who have more than a year of top flight football in them.

Fabregas was rated the number one player in the academy by Barca. It was pure luck we got him and he was already in the first team at 17. Barca were furious when they realised he had signed. We did not make Fabregas. He was already everything in a package who just developed further as he grew. If he'd stayed at Barcelona he'd have turned out little different.

Hart, Richards, Kompany and Balotelli hasn't evolved under Mancini?

And the Nasri thing could basically be said about any of the top-4 clubs. Would any Chelsea or United player join City? Would any City one join them?

What we were talking about was players joining from other clubs, not players already in one of them.

And don't act like money shouldn't matter. It does to more or less every human on this earth. And if the summer rumours were true and the salary list on previous page as well, then Wenger offered a salary to Nasri similar to Diaby.

That goes fucking double for Man City fans. So many act like money makes no difference and players would come to City without the money. Money is the only attraction to City, without the £200k wages for mediocre players City would be a nothing mid table team.

It was the only attraction.

To be fair this is true of most clubs. Where the hate for City and Chelsea come from is that it isn't just generated money, it's being pumped in.

And I must repeat, Muppets is incredible. Man Or Muppet is a tune, but LIFE'S A HAPPY SONG OH MY GOD AMAZING

No it is the only attraction. If the owners left tomorrow and no investor of the same calibre was found which players do you think would stay after being forced to take 50% pay cuts to bring the wage bill under control? This is why other fans hate oil money clubs. The money provided by your owner is the only reason the club has any success and if it was to disappear the club would go with it, Leeds style. Do you think that Aguero would stick around in Manchester or sign for Real or one of the Italian giants if they told him, less money?

You can lie to yourself and say yes, but you must realise the honest answer is that the manager and more than half of the squad would be out the door.

Is Nasri worth the amount you give him? No he isn't. But it doesn't matter to City. Should Arsenal have paid over the odds to keep him at the club? No.

What the hell are you on? What you're saying is nothing new and basically what we've agreed on in this thread for quite some time.

No City fan in here think the current players would join without the sheiks. Why the fuck would they?

The risk of City loosing the sheiks are today almost as big as Arsenal going bankrupt. City are in a good position to win titles so today players join to make money and win titles. Three years ago, they would only make money.
