I'm glad this is for the DS and not the 3DS. I might not have a 3DS until next year or later, so I'm glad I'll be able to play this at launch.

Also, chances of this game coming stateside is drastically lower thanks to it being DS. Had this been anything but Pokemon I'd say forget a western release.

I think it's likely. The games are launching in Japan in June, which is a good 3 months earlier than when new mainline Pokemon games normally launch in Japan. That gives plenty of time for a localization before the end of this year.

Plus it's not like the DS is getting any younger.

They probably won't do this, but I'm thinking, if this is a continuation of the story if it's a trilogy, then does this mean we might be able to import our Pokemon into these games? I mean, when you start out, it could probably have limits or de-level your Pokemon somehow. But it would at least make sense!

What happened to putting a few years between releases? Even the remakes were two years after RuSa. Now it's like they've got to release a pair every spring. Oversaturation. I never thought I'd get tired of Pokemon, but I didn't even play B/W cause it had only been a few months since I'd put down Hg/Ss.

And I'm really confused as to why they're putting another set on the DS. B/W should have been on 3DS in the first place. I guess 150 million DS owners is not something to just bat an eye at, but whatever.

Umm...B/W was released 17 months ago in Japan so it'll be almost 2 years between the releases of B/W and B/W 2.

Being partners doesn't change that this is a serious conflict of interests, though. I can't imagine that there haven't been uncountable unpleasant phone calls and a lot of bad blood in the process.

What? I think you're mistaking Gen 4 with Gen 3. Gen 4 is the crap gen, not Gen 3.

My speculation:

- Continues the stories from B&W. N, Kyurem, and the 3 main trainers.

- Takes place in a new region.

- Unova unlocks when you beat the Elite 4 in the new region.

- No new Pokemon besides the legendaries and new forms. Maybe a handful. Definitely not 100 new ones.

- Gets rid of Dream World crap in favor of more in-game content.

Easy cash in. Selling it only on the 3DS would surely move systems, but it limits the revenue they can get. I'm guessing money is more important to them atm then pushing hardware, considering the 3DS is healthy now but is being sold at a loss. Also works as a stop gap until Game Freak is ready with their full 3DS iteration.
