Fun build. I have been spending some time in LDD experimenting with stuff in mini modular format.

Great haul! You ever see the Eurobricks thread on PAB cups? There's a bunch of "pro tips" that people have compiled to really min/maxing your cup haha.

Yeah, that's how I managed to get so many pieces. I stacked all the plates together to make a giant cube that went into the middle of the cup. From there I started using bricks and other pieces to fill out the sides.

When I was a kid, I loved spaceship legos (yes, legos, deal with it). I remember I got this for my birthday:

$80, which I thought was insane at the time, but I've seen a lot worse recently. I got a few more from that same set. Not my pic, but I had some of these.

My spoiled cousin had the knight set but barely played with them. THE FOOL.

Space LEGO was my introduction to the hobby as a young lad. The Galaxy Explorer was my first set:

I'm going to pick up some of the Alien Conquest series once they are at clearance, so I've come full circle.

The Earth Defense HQ is a fun set in the Alien Conquest line:

The Alien Conquet line is fun - it totally plays off the UFO scare in them beat ways possible. I've only grabbed the HQ (super clearance sale a while back!), but I'd like to grab the other sets. The walker is probably next on that list!

The Galaxy Explorer is so familiar I almost remember owning it. Except I didn't. I just stared at its picture in the catalog so long that it feels that way.

However, I did own this set instead:

I bought that yesterday! It is one of the funniest sets I have seen. It's a small build, but the legs are simply awesome. I'll post some pics later :D

Lol.. I have the same 'fake memories' too when it comes to classic space Lego.

I actually had this one instead of that awesome Galaxy Explorer.

Currently working on doing inventory on my old sets, focusing on my Western sets for now. Pretty happy with how things are turning out so far - only missing 8 pieces in Fort Legorado and under 20 for the other larger sets. I'm sure if I went back to my mom's house and poked around in my room some more a number of them would turn up (they were on display there forever and got shuffled around a fair bit). At some point I'll have to pick up the cowboy sets I'm missing, which were all originally under $10 - I'd love to have that subtheme complete, but as-is I'm thrilled with what I had.

They really need to make another western series. I'm even semi-considering the Toy Story Woody's Roundup set because of its western motif, except that it probably would go horribly with the actual western line.

So I was in Toys'R'Us last week and they finally have DINO Lego sets!?!! Why the fuck did it take so long? They look SO COOL, even cooler than the Ninja sets! And now I'm an adult with a job and disposable income... I CAN BUY THEM IF I WANT TO!?

Those space sets with the head crabs look AWESOME too. And I hear that there's going to be Marvel and DC Lego, as well as LOTR? Goddamn!

I think my favorite sets growing up were the Island ones, with the badass Tiki minifigs.

One of the first thing I bought for my son and I as we started to get in on this was a little Dino vehicle set. It's got a Lego raptor, a minifig and you build his little jeep thing that has its own mounted little guns and a place to hold his rifle. The minifig head is actually reversible, one side has him looking all tough the other has him scared shitless. It's pretty cool.

And damn it, now I've gotta get one of these alien sets.

Here is a pic of my daughter after her birthday party. These are just the Lego presents.

Here is the finished Millennium Falcon. It took about 4.5 hours with the "help" of a 3 and 5 year old. It was an amazing build. My girls have been playing with it non-stop for 2 days. There is lots of different play areas and both play with it at the same time with no issues at all. This is a 10/10 build. The final result is nothing short of amazing. It makes me want to get the Death Star.

My 5yr old was able to build Luke's Speeder almost entirely on her own. We've built all of the sets except the 2 Clone War ones. After the Falcon, I need a break. Luckily, my wife is ready to step in and take a stab at doing the Clone Tank!

This is really the Hero of the day though. For MSRP of 20$, it would be the first set I recommend to any of my friends. The build was great and the toy itself is pretty sturdy. Lots of great, small details.

And here it is claiming the #spot in front of my keyboard (taking the place of flanking Alien Tripod Invaders). Excuse the mess!

Still got the huge set in the first picture. I remember when I first built it, played with it non stop for weeks. Then one day, my little sister asks for a go. Within minutes, its engines had failed, and it had taken a rough descent down the stairs. She was never the best pilot. Luckily I found everything bar one piece.

Do you know how good this feels? I know that sounds lame, but being able to buy yourself the cool toys you only dreamed of being able to buy as a kid is one of those moments where you say to yourself, "I'm all grown up."

LOTR is coming, but the sets are a bit less than fantastic. We'll see how they turn out, though. :) Enjoy!

:)

I'm thinking of picking up either the Lighthouse set or an X-Wing later today. Not quite sure which one to go with. For those that have done both, or even just one of them, which one was more fun to put together?

Lighthouse is great - all creator sets are wonderful. It also gives you 3 different builds, so that's a plus. If you're a Star Wars person, the X-Wing is probably a solid purchase, too. I think it depends largely in your thematic preference. :)

I've got a feeling that I'll be getting both eventually. The 3-in-1 build for the lighthouse is definitely a draw though.

The Lighthouse was a lot of fun to build. Doing the whole assembly for the light was pretty cool. Also I love the little LEGO birds and fish.

I built my Pet Shop modular yesterday. Very fun build but it also makes me sad that I missed out on the now out of print sets. Green Grocer in particular looked really nice. :(

My local LEGO store is now sold out of the Fire Brigade. Said they've got no more due in.

Grabbed some series 6 minifigs. Got 14 of the 16 now. Only skater girl and alien to go. :)

Also noticed for the first time that the LEGO store do these little poly bags stuffed with minifig parts and accessories. Only £3 so much better value than building in-store.

This is new - never seen it before. Take a picture of the contents! Also, if you want the Fire Brigade, online is the best way to go. Get it now before it goes away! :)
