The thread title alone gave me an aneurysm.
I just chose black because I assumed having the extra battles in black town would let me level up faster. Not even sure if that turned out true.I got White, but looking at the picture it looks like White 2 features White Kyurem so maybe I'll go with White again instead of switching. Maybe that was their intent with switching the cover Pokemon.
Eh... That's not exactly the point though. IVs are supposed to represent how truly rare it would be to actually find an animal that's at its absolute peak not only in its ability to attack, but also its ability to defend itself, and also its speed on top of that, and so forth. Most organisms, even if they are lucky enough to be the peak of their species in one of those areas, are likely to be average or even deficient in the others. A truly perfect organism that's actually perfect in all those areas would be an extremely rare thing, and that's the point the IV system is trying to get across, I believe. Of course, nonetheless, it still makes breeding a total pain, but it's not for the sake of making our lives miserable/appease totally OCD people, but rather to represent that point and the fact that Game Freak actually managed to incorporate a concept like that into how breeding works is something I kind of like about the series. Yeah, it makes things frustrating, but for an interesting and valid reason that adds a dose of actual biology/realism to the game and makes the Pokemon games kind of unique in that regard in doing so, so even so, I'm cool with it, personally. Kind of makes it feel like you're actually going through the process involved in breeding/domesticating a series of unique animals of the same species, which I like (though not the actual work involved--I haven't bothered with that myself. I just like the idea of it).Because aspergers level grinding is fun to some people I guess.
I don't see the appeal of going through hundreds of the same Pokémon until you finally get one with perfect stats.
It's grind for the sake of grind.
"Version" doesn't make me hopeful. Sequels aren't versions. Versions are the same game with different content.

All the past titles have had "version" on the end though. Red version, gold version etc. I'd say they're keeping the word version on the end to show that Black 2 and White 2 are both different variations on the same game, even though the title sounds a bit awkward as a result."Version" doesn't make me hopeful. Pokémon White Version.
Pokémon Black Verison.
Pokémon White Version 2.
Pokémon Black Verison 2.

I don't think there's any reason to think this isn't a full sequel.

Now I'm really hoping this isn't just 2 separate versions of what grey could have been.
Medarot > Digimon Tamers > Digimon Adventure > Digimon Frontier >>>>>> Pokémon (ALL of it) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Digimon Adventure 02
Also, the Medarot OP is the best thing Bee Train ever did.
There's also no precedent for 9 mainline games on a single system.
Final Fantasy
Final Fantasy II
It's just the same game but slightly different!
you have a megaman avatar
also there's like 13 mainline medabots game on gb/gbc
do you guys ever wonder why i don't have more medabots games
Um... if it was Final Fantasy Version 2 then that joke would make sense and the game name would still be confusing![]()
this has nothing to do with this thread.
They need to put a break between Version and 2, then, or use something other than a number. Add the word "Part" before the number, even.
'Version' has been in every games' title released in the west, I'm sure adding 2 next to the title won't give the wrong idea.Um... if it was Final Fantasy Version 2 then that joke would make sense and the game name would still be confusing![]()
The vibe I get from this OP is that they are trying to ape and "epicfy" the series? Medarot worked because it was paying homage to shounen anime while making fun of the "mon" phenomenon. You can tell how shitty Damashii was going to be when its opening theme contains off model, and poor quality animation. Subtract the heart and soul of the first anime series, add in filler Kilobots, drop a tonne of plotlines and characters from series 1, and you've got Damashii.

Posted? Official American site! (Not PR.)
That's a relief. After Xenoblade and The Last Story I was worried we'd miss out on this too. NOA localising something for once amirite
pokemon redSo apparently no one on NeoGAF can correctly state the name of any mainline entry in the 2nd post popular gaming franchise of all time.
I stopped watching Digimon after the stupidity of Frontier. And clearly Regulus Tera for got to add:
Xros Wars > Medarot
listen I respect your opinion but what's done is donePokémon Red Version
They overpolluted the system, just like with Guitar Hero!![]()
Why does "Version" matter? Everyone ignored the word until now. Seriously. NO ONE CARED ABOUT THAT WORD UNTIL TODAY. NO ONE.
listen I respect your opinion but what's done is done
we weaboos in hereWhat is this Medarot thing? Sounds like a bad STD.
is that what they told you? Because I heard otherwise. Pokemon Red.I don't know what you're saying.
It's not an opinion that it's called Red Version. That's the name of the game.
you actually said version irl when discussing them?I've always called them versions. Don't really see how this is even a topic though.
For a franchise that's highest selling entry was at 500k this shit was just too much in 5 years:
Medarot: Kabuto Version
Medarot: Kuwagata Version
Medarot: Parts Collection
Medarot: Parts Collection 2
Medarot: Kabuto Perfect Version
Medarot: Kuwagata Perfect Version
Medarot 2: Kabuto Version
Medarot 2: Kuwagata Version
Medarot 2: Parts Collection
Medarot R
Medarot R: Parts Collection
Medarot: Card Robattle
Medarot 3: Kabuto Version
Medarot 3: Kuwagata Version
Medarot 3: Parts Collection
Medarot 4: Kabuto Version
Medarot 4: Kuwagata Version
Medarot 5: Kabuto Version
Medarot 5: Kuwagata Version
Worst thing is, this is before we even get to the GBA era, so this is 1997-2001. Medarot 4 and Medarot 5 came out the same fucking year. From that point onward there would be 11 more releases on GBA, DS, and Gamecube in the next decade.
is that what they told you? Because I heard otherwise. Pokemon Red.
Do you refer to "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" as "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" or just "Skyrim"? The game doesn't stop being called "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" because you don't want to say the full title.you actually said version irl when discussing them?
Guys I think pyro is drunk.
yeah but k first of all, I'm a bit drunk at this point. Second of all bear with me. Third of all my main point is overall that people don't say version at the end when discussing the games, I've honestly never heard it in life, but apparently this guy (correct me if im wrong) said version? Why would he do that? We have to go deeper. Or does he always do that?Who is they?

Get back to drawing Pok-on. I need my Mugis. This is the weirdest argument...

but this guy is japanese is he not? If they don't have the word version present in their pokemon vocabulary and all of a sudden he is throwing out the word version (assuming thats true), why would he do that? For the english audience? Wait why were people concerned about the word version? I don't even know anymore."This guy?" You mean Masuda? Version isn't included in the names in Japan but it is in English speaking countries, and always has been.
I was? MY bad.I was never arguing against that. You were arguing the official titles of the games don't include the word "Version", which is false.
