LOL Pierre McGuire on his own camera feed, no one around him this time around. What a weirdo.

Excited to check back in a few hours and Darcy hasn't made any moves for BUF.

Word is that he's trying to simply resign Goose.

Like that year we resigned Connolly as our deadline move.

Sigh

Strange to see someone who doesn't understand the concept of trash talking. :lol

Shaddap and tank more, Jerk off! How do you like our table scraps? The Craphawks are going downhill and it's all due to the classless way you asses treated your last gm who friggin built that team into an SC winner.

Am I doing it right?

Any serious playoff team is going to roll over their terrible goaltending and suspect defense. That is if they make the playoffs.

I'd say power forwards like Nash are much harder to obtain than competent goaltending and defense, gotta start somewhere.

If they get a real coach they could make a big leap, look at what happened when Ottawa got a competent coach after years of amateurs running the team.

Because it will be a package. If it's a 1:1 trade, it's not, but it's not gonna be. Leafs are gonna lose Lupul, and a Defenseman, and a prospect and a pick. They need to lose more defensemen? Lupul Package > Just Nash. Lupuls production for the rest of the year will be equal or more than whatever Nash would do on the leafs.

Again, I think the "+" in Lupul+ is what determines that. I'd give up some assets to go from a player like Lupul to a player like Nash. There's lots of speculation around what the BJs are demanding, but we'll see what Howson will actually be able to get.

Nash's cap hit and cost will keep them from addressing those needs in the future though. Columbus' center depth isn't much different from Toronto's, with the exception of Grabovski. Wilson isn't going anywhere anytime soon it seems, either.

Hitchcock to St Louis is another example.

I look at our past few coaches and gms and cringe...
Leafs. Money making team. Stories franchise. Tons of history. John motherfucking Ferguson...Jr...

Think it wouldn't be anything less than Lupul + Schenn + Kadri + 1st. If it was anything less than that he would have been a Ranger by now. The leafs are in the top 10 in scoring. They are 28th is GAA. Which one of these is a more pressing issue to attend to?

Most pressing issue is coaching. I wonder what effect Wilson had on the US team. Hell, with that many stars on I could coach that team.

Should've gotten Torts.

Um a lot of the guys on the US team weren't as highly respected prior to those olympics... They were pretty widely believed to have overachieved.

Also Torts would have just bitched and called everyone lazy...

Well, if anything, the US overachieved going within a goal of winning gold, so I'd say not bad. But like you said, he had the players. Also, Torts was behind the bench as well :)

Why do I have all this hope Holland will get us at the least a depth center, yet I know in reality, he will sit there and say getting Datsyuk back before the season is over will be our best deal....... YOU HAVE CAPSPACE AND THIS DRAFT SUCKS, OFFER ALL THE DRAFT PICKS!!!!

i'd take vokoun. his cap hit is nothing compared to bryz's. that and he's played a LITTLE better than bryz. we should have gotten him anyways, then he folded and went for tiny money

If you take Schenn out, I'd do it if I were the Leafs. I think the return all depends on how motivated Columbus really is to move Nash.

If I'm Burke, I think my window might open in 2013-2014. Schenn will be 24, Gardiner will be 23, Kessel will be 26, and Nash will be 29. I like that core, and it gives me two years to find a competent goalie.

And how long does it give you to find a Competent #1 center? Why wouldn't Schenn be in the deal? Goaltending, Defense, Strength up the middle. That's what wins stanley cups.

They'll never find a #1 Centre outside of the draft, no one trades those. Should've kept the draft picks and taken Seguin, bam problem solved.

LOL...this is also my feeling this morning.

The part about Holland saying that about Datsyuk is hilarious and almost guaranteed to happen.

We had an excellent #1 centre in Sundin. Didn't do shit.

I like this core better, but we simply have too many 2nd line players. Our coach sucks. And our d needs to stop turning over the goddamn puck.

Well, you can't have everything. ;) Really, teams have won Cups without elite players in all goaltending/defense/centers. Boston didn't have a top 5 center, and Niemi certainly wasn't an elite goaltender.

I'm saying Lupul+Schenn+1st is more than I would give up for Nash. If that price really is too high, then it is what it is. But we're just speculating around what is the winning bid for Nash.

You don't think Burke isn't gonna try and get Getzlaf over the summer? Players are gonna become available. Regardless, it's a major need up there.

And why would the Ducks move Getzlaf ? Unless they have someone in their system who can step in or they trade him for a #1 centre prospect it's a downgrade.

I've seen this shit for years in Ottawa with lots of dumb trade proposals for Spezza, and not a single one of those would make the Sens better in the short or long term.

Which is why, by hook or by crook, the Habs HAVE to land Grigorenko.
Galenychuck isn't a bad option either. Any of the top 5-6 forwards should be great, but obviously we really NEED a center over every other position.
