I went out with Taylor Swift once. I didn't return her calls after the first date.

When I was eight years old I gave John Randle a cherry blowpop at the Vikings pep rally before the Championship game against the Falcons. He ate it in like 2 bites and gave me a viking towel.

John Randle was on some old football game cover, right? If so which.

edit: nvm already found out, NFL Xtreme 2

edit 2: Seeing 989 Sports brings nostalgic back Gameday 98 beat the shit out of Madden 98
edit 3: My life can be summarized in the following quote

yes i know, but im like a car wreck in life. you see it from a distance, you cringe yet you cant do anything to stop it. this is my life in a nutshell

Apparently there are people who are actually upset that the NFL season starts a day earlier this year because of Obama's DNC speech.

I'm all for any event that gets us football a day earlier! Heck yeah!

I'm upset. It was supposed to open on my birthday.

That's what you get for playing video games.

And I bet snesfreak is laughing right now in a pile of his superior Nintendo cartridges.

I'll have to go with the Panthers then. Although if by some miracle the Niners end up with Peyton Manning my head might explode. It really seems like the perfect situation for him. My other fantasy is that Madden comes to pc. I do have it for PS3...if anyone wants to add me my username is jtrizzy

The Raiders may have to dump more than a few of their top 51 in order to get under the cap.

Based on the “top 51″ report for each team as of February 28, a copy of which PFT has obtained, the Raiders stand at $145.7 million. That’s more than $16 million more than the next team, the Giants.

A lot of people say its not really that big of a deal when a team is over the cap because of restructures and everything but that seems kinda high right? Especially since the defense is so terrible, and we could use a WR too

cutting some of the fat off the raiders isn't really going to make them worse. there are guys with high cap values that aren't good players. the problem the raiders have is that they basically have a 4th and 6th round pick and nothing more. so they don't have any money to spend and they don't have a way to fill holes in the draft

Cards fan here, BakedPigeon looks so lonely on that list. Not much to talk about since we suck at this offseason business (unless Kolb becomes good...).

cards need a new coaching staff. whisenhunt has no fucking clue what he's doing and he doesn't know how to evaluate talent. i remember seeing an interview with him from 2010 when they were on a big losing streak and he said he's very superstitious about who was going to start and what the gameplan would be. i remember thinkin "and this guy is a fucking coach in the nfl?" you think if you bring your lucky hello kitty bracelet to the game that is going to let you win?

the fact that they threw a good player, a high pick and a boat load of money at a guy who had started 5 or 6 career games tells me he has no idea what he's doing. cards will be in the 4-12 to 8-8 range as long as he is coach.... unless another hall of fame QB falls into his lap

I thought with Al Davis gone some of the dumb moves would stop but then they gave Seymour all that money and he seemed kinda bad in the last half of the season, and yeah the Raiders don't have many good players. McFadden when he isn't injured and I really like Reece. Ford/Moore might be really good one day. Bush wasn't any good at all once people figured out he could run and actually tried to stop him. Palmer was just embarrassing.

i think the raiders have some talent. they've got a decent offensive line, especially in the run department. palmer is going to be better with an entire offseason to work with the wr's, the wr's as a group are maybe the fastest in the league. defense isn't horrible but they won't have much depth.

the biggest thing for the raiders is that the AFC West isn't very good. i could see them winning the division this year

Pretty harsh saying a coach that was one play away from winning a superbowl has no fucking clue what he's doing. The Kolb deal was average but not as crippling as it was originally made to seem, sure if we could go back we wouldn't have made the deal but hindsight is 20/20.

The Cards are alot better than people give the credit for. Once the defense settled (god it was terrible in the first half of the season) we had a decent base to work from and the offense can only get better than the shambles it was at times.

SF fans will realise that with Alexis at QB the NFC championship game is the absolute limit of his potential. With Seattle getting looking good as well the NFC West should be good viewing next year (except the Rams, seriously fuck the Rams).

Yeah the AFC West isn't very good, but neither are the Raiders. Hopefully Palmer will improve a lot with the off-season. I really think him and Moore could be amazing. I think I'm more worried about the defense than I am the offense though. McClain has been a let down and both of the rookie CBs were disappointing too. Maybe I'm just too use to watching them lose to think we're close enough to win a bad division. The worst part about last season is I don't think the Raiders ever had a convincing win. Always felt like they barely escaped with it

This offseason is boring so far. We need some stories. Where are the Big Ben domestic violence allegations?

When's the deadline for Indy to cut Peyton? Maybe that will generate some excitement.

Last year around this time we weren't sure we're gonna have football in the first place. Once the roster bonus deadline is there, we should get some juicy FA movements.

I'm throwing my name into the Packers camp. My account got approved right after the season ended. Haven't posted too much in the offseason.
