panels 2 4 and 6

Your comment is a perfect example of how the three-panel "rule" can ruin a joke.

You did get the joke here, right? That he decided to shoot his friend whose ankle he just broke, much like cowboys traditionally would shoot a horse with a wounded leg? Without the panel of him holding his wounded leg, showing that he can't get up, that joke just barely comes across. This comic would have been ill-suited for such subtlety; its panel 5 that drives the joke home.

I think the three panels chosen convey all of that just fine. Kapura nailed it.

If you had any sense of comic timing and of how to set up a joke...if there was even the remotest chance that you and Kapura were right and that this somehow is more comically efficient than the six panel strip....what the fuck is the point of even mentioning it? Is your day ruined now that you looked at three useless comic strip panels (two of which had no words)?

First world problems, people. Shit's for real.

Can we just agree that, although not a universally correct rule, the three panel rule is usually pretty effective?

And can we then move the fuck on?

I'll agree it's effective once comic strip creators--people who actually come up with funny stuff instead of sitting on their ass nitpicking at it--agree it's effective. The only actual comic strip I can think of that even abides by the "rule" is Dilbert, which stopped being funny years ago.

I love how mentioning the 3 panel rule riles up Rock every. single. time.

Can you just cut the bullshit for one moment and PM me with the reason for why you're always dogging me? I did nothing to you. Nothing.

I mean really, who talks like that? I'm a part of this community just as much as you. Unless you're trying to be an asshole, there's no reason to talk about me to everyone like I'm the weird kid at the end of cafeteria lunch table. Unless you were a bully in school, in which case your behavior makes perfect sense.

Because you spam unfunny shit and whenever people call you out on it you get ridiculously incensed and butthurt over shit comics that aren't even yours. Then rather than take the hint and either stop posting it, or finding better stuff, you just post more of the same crap.

Why do you seem to get deeply, personally offended when someone calls a comic made by a total stranger unfunny?

Now stop being a whiny bitch.

The 3 panel "rule" is for people with ADD.

An example of someone who clearly doesn't get the "rule":

What an unfunny hack this guy is! Can't he restrain himself and his EXCESSIVE PANEL USE???

I get ridiculously incensed because it's always me. People post unfunny shit all the time, but when RockXLight does it--oh boy! And then I get falsely accused of spamming unfunny pics all the time, which is a hoot, really, considering how times you've even laughed at pics I've posted. Now, I thought we were cool, and I was even going to remove you from my ignore list, but now I see you're still a hater. Can't quite make sense of it, really, feeling so passionately opposed to someone who hasn't attacked you personally over anything and you don't know in real life.

As much as some people may disagree with the following observations, I personally stand firmly by them. The first thing I want to bring up is that RockXLight, with his craftiness and hateful bromides, will entirely control our country's exuberant riches in the near future. RockXLight will then use those riches to yield this country to the forces of darkness, oppression, and tyranny. The moral of this story is that his communiqués are like an enormous lexiphanicism-spewing machine. We must begin dismantling that structure. We must put a monkey wrench in its gears. And we must illustrate the virtues that RockXLight lacks—courage, truthfulness, courtesy, honesty, diligence, chivalry, loyalty, and industry—because RockXLight wants to be the one who determines what information we have access to. Yet he is also a big proponent of a particularly power-hungry form of egoism. Do you see something wrong with that picture? What I see is that RockXLight exhibits an air of superiority. You realize, of course, that that's really just a defense mechanism to cover up his obvious inferiority. To summarize what I've written up to this point, RockXLight respects nothing and no one. You know I'm right. Now what are you going to do about it?

Pretty much, and it's getting boring as shit seeing this 3 panel stuff any time a comic gets posted.

People are trying to rile RockXLight up, but that "joke" is also way past it's expiration date. The thread has been shat up enough.
