Jona and Zavala are playing well.
depends on the team i suppose.
chelsea had essien, ballack and lampard in midfield. They completely neutralised xavi and iniesta.
Speaking of that old Barcelona vs. Chelsea game I was actually watching the highlights again today and it still pisses me off.

Giovani and Barrera are showing their lack of rhythm.Jona and Zavala are playing well.
None of those were even really disputable, none of them - except one in the 1st half (against Abidal) was a penalty IMHO. The rest of the decisions in regards to the other appeals were spot on.
That would be Vela, but he didn't come to this call-up.Oh Mexico always making opposing keepers look like Superman. I wonder when they will be able to finally produce a creative forward. Besides Blanco I don't think they've ever had one in 30 years.
the pique handball was a stonewall decision, you can't have your arm stretched out like that and call it a natural position.
Replays show his hand was already in the air before the ball moved towards it. FIFA law consistently distinguishes between ball to hand and handball, with the latter having to be an intentional movement of the arm towards the ball to fit the definition. Problem is referees sometimes don't recognise this fact. It makes zero sense to penalise a team simply because a ball hit an arm in the box; it has to be intentional, something akin to Suarez's one against Ghana
Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck.
I like winning, thank you.Fëanor;35606502 said:You are worrying too much over a friendly.
He's getting outplayed tactically by Pékerman. The midfield is overrun by yellow shirts, and the constant pressure by the defenders is forcing us to play aerially, which is not our strength.Isn't Chepos strength defensive tactics?

the back four, the two holding midfielders, kuyt; there's not enough creativity there.
plus, robben's shit nowadays, too.
I think that's unfair to him. He certainly has found success at club and national level.Pekerman has always been a pretty solid coach. Chepo is gritty and shitty IMO.
But that's hardly his fault; Mexico has always had a forward problem. The league is not producing youngsters who can play admirably in that position.Well mate you're right I should say he grinds games out, which you would think fits Mexicos style, but he is missing forwards that can hold the ball like borghetti used to.
I'm not even in the mood to watch the U-23 match versus USA now. This was an awful display of football. Usually we create clear chances that we just don't put in. Tonight? Tonight was horrible and the whole team should feel bad about it.
And again, Guardado is too much of a player to be playing for Deportivo.

Jona was easily one of the best things we had in the first half. I assume he wanted to see Torres Nilo on that position, but it obviously didn't help.I don't understand leaving Barrera and Salcido on. Torres Nilo should have replaced him instead of Jona, and Gio should have been moved to Barrera's spot. I wish Vela would have played in this game partnered up with Chicha. He can hold the ball up and he always links up very well with Gio.
At least Chepo can now see that Jona + Zavala is the way to go.
Giovani, who's not a natural for that position. He should be playing in Barrera's wing.I couldn't watch the match because Ecuador - Honduras was at the same time, but what formation are you guys using? 4-4-2, 4-2-3-1?
edit: oh, nvm, looks like you're using 4-4-1-1, who's the media punta?
This United States u-23 looks actually good. D:

He's playing with the U-23 right now. Those guys have the priority right now.Guardado could play there, right? Also, the guy from Chivas... Marco Fabian(?).
Overrated, and I am a Chivas fan. He's still too green and very erratic.Btw, you guys are talking about strikers, what about the kid from Chivas, Erick Torres? Sounds like he could be an awesome striker.

Congrats on your win. I hope you guys qualify (at Argentina's expense preferrably) (like that's gonna happen).Pekerman showing his experience.
Hopefully he will put Colombia back on track on las eliminatorias. We have a good set of players, we just needed a experienced hand at the helm.
Sounds about right. I just want the players to have continuity. The best formation I see Mexico using efficiently in the future is a 4-2-3-1. As it is, it seems Mexico suffers in the creative department, lacks height and someone who can actually center the ball in, not that there's anyone to center in to besides lil chicharito. They can play 4 back, holding mids in Jona and Zavala. Up front playing guardado on one edge and Gio on the other, with God knows who in the middle behind the lone Chicharito up front. Yep, that's the best I can figure. What say you?
Gold Coast United owner Clive Palmer has created an independent organisation titled 'Football Australia' and hired former A-League chief Archie Fraser as its chief executive.
"Today I have launched Football Australia and we aim to replace incompetent FFA. @ArchieFraser will be the CEO." the outspoken mining magnate wrote on his Twitter page before confirming the news at a press conference.
Palmer revealed his organisation, which will operate under the mantra "we kick harder", has been registered with the Australian Investment and Securities Commission (ASIC) and was created to "oversee football at a grassroots and senior level and ensure the game is operated with transparency and fairness."
He said Football Australia aimed to replace Football Federation Australia, which he claimed was incompetent at both a domestic and international level.
"The FFA has lurched from one disaster to another and needs to be replaced," Palmer said.
"They staged a hugely embarrassing World Cup bid which blew $46 million of taxpayers' money for one vote and they are running an A-League competition which is bleeding money from club owners.
"The fans, players and people with a passion for football in Australia deserve better and Football Australia will be based on full transparency and corporate governance.
Did Portugal play well today? I didn't get a chance to check the game out.
You think? I disagree man. I think this is a tactical shift and has made a lot of current teams tactics as obsolete as Hungary made England's WM formation in 53. You can (barely) etch out victories with solid counter attacking against them but as fairly mediocre teams like Swansea have proven the Spanish method just works even against far better players if you drill it over time.
They actually weren't bad but Szczesny stopped everything.I read that they were terrible, which the result against fucking Poland also suggests. No surprises there considering how Portugal has played for the last long time.
Damn. Nearly at |OT7|. Do we have a front runner for a title?
I'm calling it now Cleverley will become the english version of Iniesta, he really is that good.
