Eureka Seven 18-29

The only thing keeping me watching now is promise of more despair for Holland. I don't think I've wanted a character to suffer this much since forever. He is a jealous, irresponsible pedophile and bad things should happen to him. If he gets a happy ending, I will declare this one of the worst shows I have watched all the way through.

this is like people watching the Mirai Nikki anime up in here.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Episode 03

Oh geez, I'm only five minutes in (including opening), and I think I can already see where this is going. Mami's accident was caused by Kyubey, Sayaka's love interest is going to be put into peril so she'll wish for him to live, and... I don't know what else yet.

OH MY GOSH EVERYONE IN THIS SHOW IS SO MANIPULATIVE. I haven't finished it yet, but it's clear my initial feelings of only being able to trust Homura is right.

Mami's fighting is still great to see.
HOLY CRAP MAMI IS DEAD WHAT THE?! Wha!? WHAT?!

Homura is now my favorite character. I just wish she'd quit pulling that bullcrap of "I don't want you to sign a contract, but I'll never just sit down and tell you why."

Looking forward to next week when they'll decide to make a wish to bring Mami back or something... : |

They were right. Reading the impressions of those watching the show for the first time is fun, haha.

Homura is the real deal, yeah.

OK, that settles it. After Katanagatari, I'm going to try Madoka. I'm oddly curious about what this episode 3 is all about. :lol

Funimation has been pushing the fanservice angle pretty heavily as of late. Just look at their Rosario+Vampire marketing campaign.

Rosario is a harmless shounen battle harem with pretty tame fanservice. Vampire Bund is legit loli on the same level as Kodomo no Jikan.

It's definitely surprising, though I don't really think it being licensed by Funi is the reason for that.

Don't watch it until I get done, so I can post gifs and omniscient posts regarding your impressions! I need to have something to look forward to in this crazy world!

:lol

I don't even know when I'll get to it but I'm making a note to comment on the series in here to kill time until the spring season.

You guys should also read through the Madoka Magica OT to keep pace with all the bullshit everyone was spinning + possibly NSFW fanart + the angst of waiting a month for the last two episodes.

You're doing it wrong, guys. Getting all up in a lather whenever someone is doing this is not the way to go. It just a) encourages over dramatic impressions, or; b) spoils the moments for them.

I haven't watched either show and have no desire to. Just saying that Funimation isn't exactly a stranger to trashy shows.

The speculation was definitely fun. I think that made me even crazier waiting for the final 2 episodes. Had I not belonged to any online communities, the wait probably would have been a lot less painful.

I'm never overly dramatic. I just type it how I see it. Feel it. Whatever.

Just be glad I didn't go screenshot crazy like I usually do!
Can't wait for sunday! Going to be screenshots all up in this thread!

Homura is awesome indeed.
There's a reason why she just doesn't sit down and explain things to them.

I've never watched Madoka, but I'm already spoiled so there would be no enjoyment out of me posting about it when I eventually do watch.

Another 3

Yeah, that's a little more than what I was expecting. Corpse Party vibes, hell yeah. I wonder if the characters show up in the order they'll die in the ED.

Also... Is "Episode 3" becoming a thing? Hahaha.

She wished to never be able to sit down and hold pleasant conversation again,
I KNEW IT!

I would have done the same thing.

Why did you read spoilers? :(

Noein 1-5

We need the Dragon Torc to live...no, we need to destroy the Dragon Torc.

Watching the sub first since I completed most of the dub when it was shown on Ani-Mondays back in '07. I do not remember much of the plot, as I did not understand much of anything going on the first time.

Also, those dub bloopers.
"Cris...Crispin Freeman get out of my bedroom!"

As firehawk stated earlier, this pretty much felt like an extra long episode of Natsume Yuujinchou sans Natsume and all his lovable friends but that didn't stop this from being any less beautiful nor melancholic.

lol, do yourself a favour and never read up spoilers for this

i dunno about that, you could definitely eke some enjoyment out of it if you tried!

Delightful, though we finally seem to be returning to tennis. I liked the ending developments
everyone pumped to start a revolution
.

It seems awkward how this entire anime felt like a training arc, disappointed if it does end at 13 episodes with nothing else.

It's almost more :firehawk than Natsume proper, because it's a prolonged
summer romance
.

Which is cool, but my problem just comes back to the portrayal. When Ray was
losing it, I didn't think "man, so she was a psycho bitch this whole time", I thought "wow, this show really hates those two but loves Gekkostate".
The latter gets off scottfree while continuing to be portrayed as fun loving air rebels minus Holland who is being portrayed as a bipolar fuckwit, but still at least partially gets his way.
Scott-free?! No way man. Holland and Talho got theirs then and... something with happen to them later on as well.

I've been trying to remember what this show was called. Thanks!
And it's also another :firehawk classic!

Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai 08
Bad end, everyone gets eaten by sharks.
That was some episode, especially the ending of it. Started off with all about Kobato and her infinite adorableness, and moved on to making fun of Maria. Then, everyone gets eaten by sharks before going off to the pool. The trap is still considered a trap and suddenly we are ended by a downer. That really taken me back, where I don't pair up harem anime with downer endings even if it was just for an episode. Actually makes me want to watch more and I usually hate angst and drama in anime.

Usagi Drop 3.5-5

This series is really putting a smile on my face. It's so sweet, but not afraid to get serious and even when it does it never falls into melodrama. The problems come at face value and include the subtlety that can come with it.
For example, when Daikichi meets Rin's mother.
Looking forward to how Rin and Daikichi's relationship progresses further in.

Hey, naked is a gross exaggeration. She's wearing some gauntlets and a scarf, sounds perfectly modest to me.

I'm not surprised that [Vampire Bund] was licensed so much as it was Funimation who licensed it. Why would a company known mostly for good, clean mass market fun ever touch that?
I always feel like I'm from an alien culture when I read stuff like this, because I can't muster up any kind of strong reaction to the "ancient vampire who looks like a little girl" trope. I don't find it shocking, or titilating, or amusing, or anything. The fact it's a frickin' vampire overrides everything else in my mind and all I wind up thinking is, "meh, let's get the garlic and wooden stake and take care of this problem."

I loved that bit with the Shark ending! "Oh! I guess it really is a godly game then!" About the only time I've ever liked Yozora. XD

I only watch things that large amounts of people consider overrated, because that just means they weren't smart or sophisticated enough to appreciate it.
You better get started.

How could a series like Ro-Kyu-Bu be considered overrated? Nobody thinks it's even remotely enjoyable
except for myself.

Thats not really an overrated list as much as it is I hate anything thats popular list :/

The whole Madoka experience was like the best thing ever, but whenever I try to go back and rewatch the show I can't really get into it.

There are plenty of shows where once you know what happens next and at the end, there isn't any reason to watch it again. The experience of the first time watching it was what made it worth it, once that's gone, it's gone and you can't ever get it back.

Once you've made it through Madoka, you have no choice other than resorting to reading fan comics about
Homura trying to steal Madoka's pantsu
like the rest of us. It's not such a bad fate.
