You think this, but consider the backlog of players at his position already and not to mention guys like Moss and TO that will be there.
These players are selected in a vacuum. They're selected in context of players at the same position.

I don't think the backlog will affect them. When Hines, TO and Moss retire they'll shoot ahead of the backlog.
Stickman Golf is pretty good. It's relatively simplistic, but some of the courses get pretty crazy.

I understand Hines is a beloved player and a tough, versatile son of a bitch, but I can see him taking some time.

Cris Carter caught ~50 more TDs than Hines Ward.
When it comes to the position itself and its role, Cris Carter was dominant. Hines Ward is a great, gritty player, but I have a hard time considering him a dominant player at his position.
This is wholly subjective, but I don't know if I feared Hines Ward as an offensive weapon.

What hampers Hines is that for his first 5 years he had to catch passes from Mike Tomzcak, Kordell Stewart, and Kent Graham. Things really opened up for him when Maddox and eventually Ben took the helm. But that's the way it goes. I think Hines will get in the hall eventually, just not early on, he'll wait awhile. In any event, if I had to choose between Hines and Bettis, I'd take Hines. Bettis was usually either a no show or a flop come playoff time. On the flip side, Hines was a kick ass postseason player.

I'm sure that Colbert gave Hines the retirement option, like he did with Arians. But the move to cut him is for the best. Fuck resigning him for the minimum. He has too much cachet with the team/coaches/fans to sit on the bench in Pittsburgh. Let him begin his Jerry Rice-esque journey. First stop, jnc's favorite team. Or Pittsburgh west. Or one of those other shitty NFC West teams.

There's quite a few good not great SB MVPs. I really think Hines will never get close. There's just so many of his WR peers who are far better than he ever was. You never, ever, in his entire career, worried that he was going to kill you. That's the same objection I have to Curtis Martin, and the same one I will have when Bettis gets in.
To be a HoF player, teams needed to gameplan against you. Coaches needed to lose sleep thinking of ways to stop you. And of course you need to do that for an extended number of years.

Meh. In an era where guys are routinely catching 100+ passes, I'm not sure that will stand up. It's a passing era now, and as you can see even WRs with great career numbers are being shunned for the Hall.
When Carter, Brown and Reed can't get in, you know there's a backlog. Like I said, I'd love it if Hines gets in, but the only way he's getting in is if 2 SBs, 1 SB MVP and holding the franchise records for receiving on a notoriously run-oriented team (at least until Ben came along) amount for enough cachet to get him past some guys with much better numbers.
I'm not sure guys feared being beaten by Ward as a receiver, but I'll bet there's a few guys who learned to get their head on a swivel after taking one of his downfield blocks.
Gonna miss you, Hines. I wish you'd retire, but provided you don't end up in the AFC North or with the fucking Cheatriots, I wish you well.

His postseason performance will also help: 88 catches in 17 games (second to Rice's insane 151 in 29 games), 5 100+ yard games, 10 TDs and 1181 yards. I think he gets in down the line when he's older, like late 40s, early 50s even. And if he doesn't, eh, so be it. Gregg Lloyd ain't ever going in the hall and I still think he kicked tons of ass.

AC2 has the most idiotic end sequence from a dialogue point. Just retarded. Game as a whole is pretty neat, I like the mechanics and you can pretty much play with your eyes closed. All the weapons you have just makes this so easy.
Brohood actually gets better once you command your own guys (roughly after 1/3). I found it handy whenever some annoying NPC was in my way to just send a guy in.
Revelations was a disappointment. Had high hopes for Istanbul/Constantinople, but it seems pretty uninspired. I always wondered how they can churn those games out so quickly and still add some charm to those cities. To me, that didn't work in the last one.
Is Scott still on some old ass list of HOF candidates that get considered every now and then? Prolly not. I played D-back just because of him and Louis Oliver.
In related news the Rams are going to reject the offer they got from the city today. The Rams must counter-offer by May 1st. If the city rejects that, they go to arbitration.
But we'll know more sooner than that b/c Kroenke is going after the Dodgers, and that will wrap up in April. If he gets the Dodgers, he'll make a deal w/ McCourt to put a football stadium in the parking lots there.

Tendering Wallace was to be expected considering we were more likely to sign him to a long term deal than franchise tag him. It doesn't make sense to take the $9-10 million dollar hit for this season and not have him secured for next season.
