lol. I've binned the ones I have little confidence or interest in.

1 GK Joe Hart
13 GK Robert Green
DF Glen Johnson
15 DF Joleon Lescott
2 DF Micah Richards
3 DF Leighton Baines
14 DF Phil Jones
5 DF Chris Smalling
DF Kyle Walker
8 MF Scott Parker (c)
11 MF Adam Johnson
MF Tom Cleverley
FW Wayne Rooney
9 FW Danny Welbeck
20 FW Daniel Sturridge

Leaves us with some pace up front, some ability to hold the ball in midfield, and a relatively tough, solid defence. Not going to set the world on fire, but England can put out a capable 11 on paper.

Most of the players representing England are shit! This has been, and always will be, England's problem. The FA seem to think that bringing in the likes of Mourinho, Pep or Redknapp will fix the problem, but seemingly forget that these managers are blessed with intelligent, technically gifted and far superior players at their respective clubs that works well with their tactics than England has to offer.

I don't think England would go into tournaments expecting to be favourites but they are solid quarter final picks and could easily make the semis, this whole mentality of 'best in the world' or 'complete shit' is bizarre to me. After Spain, Germany, Holland, Brazil and Argentina England have a good claim to be the next best - heck given Brazil seem to be in a low point for players atm I wouldn't argue against England being in the top 5. The only other credible teams are Portugal and France.

Yeah I think you've highlighting our biggest problem in terms of squad selection - England's midfield pool is fucking horrendous.

I guess you can play Sturridge as a winger with Johnson, then have Parker hold, Cleverley as the playmaker, maybe even with Rooney alongside him, then shove Welbeck or someone else up front. That's the only sensible thing I can put together from your selection where midfield/striker is concerned.

The return of Wilshere could help too but it will take a while for him to get back to his decent performance levels.

But yeah, that's pretty much it for us. :(

I don't know, there are a few players besdies Wilshere who aren't in the team right now who could help. Oxlade-Chamberlain, Lennon, Rodwell, Huddlestone, there are different options out there but injuries/inexperience are keeping them out of the side.

Oui. Sturridge might ache to play down the middle, and Chelsea might eventually be wise or obliged to indulge him, but England need him on the sides. Rooney can play behind whoever he's partnered with and basically handle that area if he's on form. Wilshere will help, but it's always going to be a profoundly different style to what he is drilled to do for his club. To a greater extent than for other players, because Arsenal (if not quite at the moment) will hold the ball. England won't. Can't.

England appear to have quite a problem with wingers, given that Sturridge is a CF who is being used out wide and many potential formations I've seen suggest using Welbeck out wide as well, essentially leaving 3 strikers in the forward positions of a 4-3-3. Johnson and Cole are good at getting forward but it still leaves England very narrow and since others have suggested that England are quite weak in midfield it may be wise to try a 4-2-3-1 formation with Rooney in the hole, one of Welbeck or Sturridge up top and one on the wings, leaving a space for a natural winger in the attack.

Bold the shit ones, delete the decent ones - however you like.

Alright, "shit" was harsh, but I wouldn't allow this lot anywhere near the national team. Oh, and sorry for the late response. Just getting ready for work. :-/

:lol, two terrible leagues.

Happy birthday Viva.

Also Dave Jones has signed up at Sheff Wed. Not sure what to think of the change there, to be honest.

Nile Ranger has been fined £6,000 for homophobic comments on Twitter.

Why is this worthless cunt still at Newcastle? Prick deserves nothing from us. Boot him out.

:( I thought we could start a fan club.

Honestly he's average. A Team is commercially successful because it's sub par teenage poetry, but he's a better rap writer than anything else. Nowhere near as good as people think he is though. Maverick Sabre's album came out recently and that was much better if you're talking about new British singer/songwriters.

*brofist*

The guy's far too overrated and the jizz splurge over songs like A Team annoy the fuck out of me. Terrible shite.

Why do you have him as an avatar then? Bit weird.
