HOLY SHIT
One of dudes I play with from Penny-Arcade forums eliminated Justin Wong!
Nah man, he's in love.

Sad for Justin, but I don't feel like he's found his team yet.
You have no idea. They're everywhere here. I was fortunate that there was only one really solid one in my pool.Have u guys seen the amount of Zeros so far? That character is really catching on rapidly
Woah. Was it Kinderparty? I've been chatting with him a little over the weekend.HOLY SHIT

everyone's gonna hate sfxt in a few months just like every other game

Frieda said he beat Dacidbro in a close match to make it to his Winner's Finals pool match, this having taken place a while ago. Says his match tomorrow is against Combofiend's training partner, but I'm not sure who that is...

SF4 and MVC3 weren't universally praised when they first came out. Its hard to find people that dislike SFxT.
Justin's out of Marvel
Might see a post sometime of his savior SFxT being ass. lol

Pretty much, Marvel got a ton of shit out the gate.
Yeah, it was Kinder! Super proud of that guy
I still get the feeling that he's fucking around with this game, for some reason. He seems to be using a different team every tournament. I wonder who he was using today?
Whoa neat. When played with that group I played him, Biz and a few other people in SSF4 and MVC3.
Convinced me pretty fast that all of them were way too good for me.
We've got a few sleepers rolling around that board. Kinder and Biz are a couple of our solid Marvel players. Biz plays a pretty mean Bison. He just missed top 16 at WB. We've got a Sakura player that continually bodies us without much trouble.
edit: Markman, you and Rich on commentary was fantastic. I'd love to get one of or either of you guys on Tekken.
Having dinner now...
Hoping to jump on commentary for Tekken tomm.![]()
Pretty sure he loss with IF/Wolv/Akuma. I think all those WNF with Felicia and other random teams really killed his consistency. Always playing random teams and not practicing your main eventually has to backfire. You're just not going to be as crisp.
Kinderparty put me in losers round 1 at an Ohio local once. I feel less miserable about that now lol.
He can certainly lame it out when needed.
He was just overly lucky in SCR and WB. He won SCR because Mine (who had the team to completely shut JWong's team down) choked badly to the pressure, and he was extremely close to being sent to losers by Chuck in WB if not for that ridiculous drop. He has been benefiting a lot from people underestimating IF, from people choking to the Wong Factor, from tourney organizers giving him extremely favorable brackets (look at how they moved Unknown away from playing him) but time and again it's shown that IF just isn't very viable against the zoning/laming specialist. And he's not ready for the extremely high level of competition in FR.
Moving him from Unknown made his road harder if anything imo. Unknown teams is Wesker and two big hurt box. Wolv would eat both Nemesis and Sent alive.
As for the luck thing is concern that "what if" could be said about anyone winning any major.
What if last year Evo Billy Lee Dragon didn't choke against Poongko?
What if Noel Brown wouldn't have drop his combo on Chris G at NEC?
What if Chris G didn't drop his combo on Pr Balrog up 2-0 in GF coming from winner finals at NEC?
What if Justin didn't do a preemptive super against Viscant at EVO and just brought his phx down first?
What if Richard Nguyen went for a different TAC against Justin at EVO?
The Chuck thing at Winterbrawl is just another what if in the long ass line of what if. So I really don't count that because in sports you see it all the time as well and no one really cares after it happens. Just look at the last NBA Finals and this year NFL playoffs. You can kind of compare Chuck's drop to Wes Welker drop if you want.
As for the Wong Factor is concern. It's also pretty legit since we see the same thing happen to Daigo all the time, but no one is taking away any of Daigo's title.
I wouldn't say he's lucky. You don't just dominate for 12 years of competitive fighting game on luck. If anything I say his loss today was from him spreading himself out in too many games. With SFxT, Marvel, SF4AE, KOF, and maybe even a little SC5.
Thanks. The gauntlet you were running today on funkyp's stream was impressive. Good shit, man.

Don't forget teams, plus SF3 which he won today. Also it didn't help that the tournament was running late.
I'm friggin ecstatic for Kinderparty. He told me when we were chatting before he left that he just wanted to fight Justin.
Wish it was streamed, but hellz yeah, proud of my boy.
High-five Baroque.
Kinder called me and we chatted, said Justin used Ironfist for two of the matches, won the first, lost the second. I think he said he switched from IF third match, but unsure, was too excited for KP.
Damn.

Saw your matches, 645, y'did good. Was really pulling for you at the end.
Justin Wong is, easily, at least one of the top 10, maybe 5, best UMVC3 players. It isn't luck, he's just very good at fighting games.
What a hype event. Shoutouts to several Houston/Texas players making day 3 tomorrow. I'm in winner's side of top 32 for SSF4, had to beat Flash Metroid and iPeru in my pool. See you guys on the stream tomorrow!
