how did character designs get this worse over the time ?

To be fair. Character deigns from the first two games are just as much artefacts from the 7th gen era with its muted colors. And looking at these pictures alone (with the exception of roland and Axton), they might just as well have been the same characters wearing different costumes.

The way I see it, Harlowe had a pretty poor short and isn't aimed at me, but thats fine, because they need to cover a wide audience. I'm still hyped for the game. Going with Rafa first I think. Might change my mind to Vex though.

Time to ressurect 7th gen then, nowadays everything looks like a rainbow puke with generic over the top characters designs and annoying writing.

I miss the days when a wasteland of planet like Pandora looked like a actualy wasteland.

I think the characters look fine. To be honest, I was expecting much worse. I am sure I will eventually play this game, as these games are always some fun in coop.

Probably the weakest of all the character shorts they've shown, maybe that's why they kept it for last. Still playing as long as it looks, runs and plays good on PC, more Borderlands is all this really needs to be, and with reports that the writing is going to be more grounded like BL1 and have less cringe and memes this seems like a no brainer.

And still manages to look better than 90% of the games out there. Either says something about Borderlands, or something about the industry.

Same…I don't mind the character because I know they need to appeal to as many appetites as possible, but I'm just not impressed by her skill set and trees. She doesn't look as fun to play as the other 3. I mean, I'm going to try all 4 (and the dlc ones later), and that might change, but right now I'm not impressed with her.

Plus they actually made legendaries super rare again…for me that's the biggest deal. Way too common in BL3 and it zapped a lot of the fun out of it for me.
